25.01.2022 Tuesday, Bike rides Collecting / depositing cans & bottles, appointments & speach therapy This guy consistently cleans his suburb of cans, bottles & any containers worth 10c off the streets, it still amazes me, that 1 fella alone can gather so much rubbish off the streets of his own suburb, let alone everyone else that joins in! Hats off to joe Awesome job mate, if only there was some incentive to push people to collect rubbish off the streets, and into the bins ... 25.01.2022 Today this champion wanted to test out his skills on a kayak with Josh at The Ripple Effects community events! He did such a great job, handing out cold refreshments to the public, sharing some HI-FIVES, instead of hunting for the bottles and cans, they ran over to him! 20.01.2022 Adults eyes 18+ Only As adults we all have needs & feelings that come up, we may have a partner to confide in, spend time with, access to night life and other means of self care. What if you had boundaries, disabilities or something else getting in your way? For example ( A man with a heart of gold, diagnosed with Autism, has the same needs / urges as all of us do, but cannot find the loving, fun & adventurous person he is looking for.... We all long to find that perfect person, someone to hold and enjoy the rest of your life with, encourage and experience, to explore each other. Love is not just for us, but for all human beings, whether we live with any disabilities or not. You have tried everything to find that person? You may need that support worker to help guide you and this can be a hard topic to be open about. Parents, if you have a daughter or son with intellectual disabilities, we must understand, if your child, son or daughter is looking or needs the adult urges fulfilled, we cannot block it. Yes our children are precious, they may get hurt but we are there to guide them, to let them experience the world with as much guidance as possible. To find there loved ones or new friendships at the local meet up events, organised by disability service groups. I have noticed (being a support worker at these events) the ratio of men to woman is 10 to 1. It seems we are afraid of letting our daughters make a friend, have that connection that we are all looking for. Please, please parents if there is a meet and greet group organised, be sure and know that we as support workers are there, watching over and guiding, keeping everyone safe, and yes people find love and do get hurt, its a part of life... Let's not make our fears, hold back something that could be special There is help out there, Dr Natasha from Consentability specialises in guiding and talking to individuals & families through personal & sexual issues/ problems that may arise in life, offering all sorts of help with the connections we have made, including NDIS approved adult toy businesses, yes you can purchase adult toys, with your funds. If nothing has worked, frustrations build and needs need to be met, if not troubles could & can arise. NDIS approved sex workers are available, for this to be available the business and employees are regularly checked into, they understand the needs and wants of people with disabilities and or limitations, willing to sit with family / carers and or the client to discuss what is needed. We are planning to implement this topic into our website, as it is a big part of adult life your family member may not want to express there needs to you directly, we can discuss this directly to a worker or talk with the member CONFIDENTIALLY. It is an unspoken topic, we understand, but there is help out there for all of us. Let us know in the comments below your thoughts of this topic.

08.01.2022 A client of mine has a passion for the all animals, reptiles and creepy crawlies! His mother has grown to i wouldnt say love, but support her son with his passion, his dream to hopefully (in the future) open his own reptarium. Being a shy guy with alot of knowledge when it comes to reptiles, he would love to help people with more of an understanding of the slivery beasts, not being as dangerous and terrifying as most people see them to be Who would love to learn more about... snakes lizards and all the things that keep you up at night? I think living in Australia amongst our diverse country full of beautiful creatures, we should have more talks on said topics. Being a young adult with a disability he is finding it hard to to grow with his passion due to finances, mum does the best she can to support her sons dreams and keep the slivery family well fed & taken care of My client would love to set up talks, shows and pictures FREE of charge, just to get him on his feet.
