23.01.2022 Today is Dhanvantari Jayanti and is celebrated officially as Ayurveda Day, around the world. The awareness of Ayurveda is growing considerably. Still, there is ...so much in terms of the depth and perspective on life and health that Ayurveda offers, that is yet to have a light shined upon it, for closer consideration, especially in the western world. That Ayurveda is considered to have been first shared by Dhanvantari, the celestial physician, out of concern for the sufferings of humanity, suggests and reveals its divine beginnings and legacy. In short, Ayurveda shares deep insights as to what constitutes advantageous and disadvantageous choices in life, what conduces towards happy and unhappy states (and the reasons behind unhappiness) and knowledge pertaining to all that occurs between birth and death. Some Features of Ayurveda: Ayurveda is the oldest organised system of health care Ayurveda is based upon laws inbuilt into nature Ayurveda is a true system of holistic healing Ayurveda is recognised by WHO (World Health Organization) Ayurveda relies on natural products and resources Ayurveda enhances the quality of one’s life Ayurveda looks deep into the reasons behind ill health Ayurveda has 8 branches of specialised medical knowledge Much of Ayurveda’s underpinning philosophy aligns with, is complementary to, drawn from the same source and is essential to Yoga Ayurveda reveals the uniqueness and unique requirements of each individual being, based upon their body type or Prakruti. Integrative Oncologist, Dr. Arvind Kulkarni of Pune, India says, ‘Ayurveda is a great science which looks at holistic well-being. It’s very effective when dealing with chronic diseases and specific conditions The education of basic philosophy behind the traditional art and science should be initiated. The government has to help in informing society about the system Not just the common man, but policymakers and politicians have to be educated about the benefits and treatment potential’. ‘The Ayurvedic intervention should be supportive to modern medicines from the beginning (in curing chronic diseases) rather than at a later stage’, said Kulkarni, who has treated over 30, 000 cancer patients. Let’s make it a point to discover more about Ayurveda. The Ayurveda Day pledge: I pledge to make Ayurveda an integral part of my daily life and thereby enable good health and well-being for myself, my family, and my community, in harmony with nature. 18.01.2022 August is the last month of our special offer for Yoga Therapy sessions. Usually $100 until the end of August $60 You may ask why would I go to a Yoga Therapy session when I can simply go to the physio or go online and find something to help me there?... Time is precious for us and we want to spend our time on what will be beneficial. I often hear in private sessions people practicing yoga via you tube or online classes from home while this may be a great way to get started with a home practice, over time they are looking for something more personalised. Sure it can be convenient as someone is guiding you, telling you what to do and there are many different styles and practices to choose from. But this can be a distraction from what you really need and what is going to support you in body, breath and mind a complete integrated practice. A yoga therapy session will address asymmetry in the body, improve body awareness, stabilise weak areas just as a physio will but you get the added benefit of adding more to those exercises you are given to do at home such as mindfulness practices, breathing techniques and more. So why not try a yoga therapy session next time you are experiencing back pain, dealing with increased stress levels or wanting a personalised yoga practice put together just for you. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you will take home. https://yogaayurvedacentre.com.au//yoga-therapy-consultat/
