This year, our theme is "Ada Apa Dengan Bahasa Indonesia?" and we will have teachers presenting various workshops such as TPRS method, Australian Design Curriculum and Assessment, Hub Groups and fundings and ICT use in the classroom amongst many to choose from.... Details are as below: Place: Flinders University, Victoria Square, Adelaide CBD Date: 19th August 2017 Time: 9.00am-3.30pm Fees: $75 for members and $105 for non-members (inclusive of INTAN membership until February 2018) Ayolah! 24.01.2022 Can finally share the blurbs for the 3 TPRS workshops that will be available at the 2017 INTAN conference. The 4 presenters will be: Ibu Sharon Mann Bu Anne MacKelvie Bu Annie Beach & Bu Cathy. ... Workshop 1 - Introduction to TPRS TPRS is a teaching method based on storytelling. The main idea of TPRS is that students acquire languages by listening to them, just as we did when learning our first language. Experience the 3 steps of TPRS as a language student as an introduction to the following two workshops. Workshop 2 - TPRS skills TPRS relies on several skills, each equally important for student success and engagement. The 7 most critical skills include circling (questioning), personalisation, staying in bounds (ensuring all language used is 100% comprehensible), teaching to the eyes, pointing and pausing, speaking SLOWLY and using comprehension checks. (Source - Martina Bex) Workshop 3 - Comprehensible Input (CI) activities There are many different yet highly engaging activities for language teachers to use in their classrooms to facilitate acquisition. This workshop will focus on a few of our favourites through participation! A great way to finish the day! Don't forget- these workshops are for teachers of all languages.

16.01.2022 At the 2017 conference, INTAN are also offering a TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading & Storytelling) stream for all language teachers. If you know of any language teachers (regardless of language taught, year level taught or sector in which they teach) who would be interested, please pass on conference and registration details. This stream is perfect for new and continuing TPRS language teachers.

10.01.2022 Scholarship opportunities for students who are interested in or who want to learn more about Indonesian Arts and Culture. Beasiswa Seni dan Budaya Indonesia is ...financed entirely by the Indonesian government. It is available for students who have just completed their year 12 or in first/second year university. From the podcast it seems that knowledge of Indonesian language is not necessary as an Indonesian language program will be included in the scholarship.
