21.01.2022 Indooroopilly Shopping Centre has this afternoon received confirmation from Metro North Public Health that two customers, who have tested positive to Coronaviru...s, visited the centre on Monday 17 August between 11am-1pm and Wednesday 19 August between 1pm-4pm. Stores the customers visited include Origin Kebab and Bupa Health on 17 August, and David Jones, Myer, Sweets from Heaven and Touch of India on 19 August. Whilst awaiting confirmation from Metro North Public Health overnight, (Saturday 22 August) Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, through our service providers, conducted a deep clean and disinfected the Centre with the focus on key areas such as hard surfaces, food courts and bathrooms. The affected stores have also conducted a deep clean. Upon confirmation by Metro North Public Health this afternoon, a memo was circulated to all of our retail partners. Indooroopilly Shopping Centre has not yet appeared on the official list from Queensland Health at this stage, however, we have chosen to share this information with our community as soon as confirmation was received. We expect to be added to the official list in the coming hours. Metro North Public Health have advised people if you become or have already become unwell with any symptoms of COVID-19, please isolate yourself and get tested. The health and safety of our customers and retailers continues to be our primary focus. We will continue to monitor this issue and if there is any change in advice, we will notify our valued retailers and customers as appropriate.
18.01.2022 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month Women aged 50-74 without breast cancer symptoms should have a screening mammogram every two years. This is because more than 75 per cent of breast cancers occur in women aged over 50. Women aged between 40 and 49, or 75 and older should talk to their GP about whether they should have a free screening mammogram.... Women with strong family history of breast or ovarian cancer, or with a diagnosis of breast cancer in the past five years, should talk to their GP or contact BreastScreen Australia on 13 20 50 to discuss the most appropriate care. 18.01.2022 November is Movember Movember is dedicated to men's health. In particular, mental health and suicide prevention, together with prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Men’s health is in crisis. Men are dying on average 6 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons. We can all take action for men to live healthier, happier and longer lives.... During November, we are reminding men to talk to their GP about their health, including mental health. Encourage the men in your life to talk. 14.01.2022 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month Over the course of your lifetime, there are many factors that can influence your risk of breast cancer, such as: getting older having a strong family history of breast or ovarian cancer... genetic factors Whilst some of these risk factors cannot be changed, you can still aim to reduce the risk of breast cancer through making healthy lifestyle choices. For example: Alcohol - drinking alcohol increases your risk for breast cancer. The more you drink, the greater the increase in risk. Body weight keeping to a healthy weight range reduces the risk of breast cancer. Physical activity - be active at least 30 mins each day to reduce the risk of breast cancer. Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Review your needs regularly with your doctor. Breastfeeding - can reduce the risk of breast cancer. 13.01.2022 Bowel Cancer Awareness Month: What is bowel cancer? Bowel cancer, also known as colorectal cancer, is a cancer of the lining of the colon or rectum. It is the number two cancer-killer in Australia with one person dying every two hours - more than from breast or prostate cancer. Bowel cancer can occur without any obvious warning signs in the early stages. Not everyone will have symptoms, and the symptoms can vary.... These are some of the most common signs: - Persistent change in bowel habits - Blood in the stool (bowel motion) - Abdominal bloating or cramping abdominal pain - Unexplained weight loss or loss of appetite If you do experience any of these symptoms, regardless of your age, it is important to consult your GP so the cause can be found.

Breast awareness is important for women of all ages, even if you’re having regular mammograms. You don’t need to be an expert or use a special technique to check your breasts. Take the time to get to know the normal look and feel of your breasts as part of everyday activities like showering, dressing, putting on ...body lotion, or simply looking in the mirror. Knowing what is normal for you will help you detect any new breast or nipple changes. Breast changes to look out for include: a new lump or lumpiness, especially if it's only in one breast a change in the size or shape of the breast a change to the nipple, such as crusting, ulcer, redness or inversion a nipple discharge that occurs without squeezing a change in the skin of the breast such as redness or dimpling an unusual pain that doesn't go away. If you find a breast change that is unusual for you, see your GP without delay.
