20.01.2022 This is one of our favourites at kindy! Read once a day, minimum.

18.01.2022 Its normal for some meltdowns to happen around week 3 - some extra time with mum or dad can really help.

18.01.2022 Finding some gum tree bark in the playground, the children decided to do Yuggera people painting. They selected colours and used small brushes to create detailed paintings, mixing colours and talking about how traditional paints were made. We have limited vacancies for 2020 - visit the C&K website to add your child to our waiting list or drop into our beautiful kindy for a visit.

14.01.2022 To all our Indooroopilly Kindy kids starting Prep tomorrow, we hope you have an amazing first day. Well be thinking of you and would love to see your photos!

14.01.2022 Reading is a big part of every day at our kindy. Its always fun to share a favourite book with a friend outside on a beautiful day. Theres always time to read.

14.01.2022 This week we welcomed our dads and special visitors to Kindy for a breakfast and a play to celebrate Fathers Day. This morning we met a very special visitor, who told us she went to our kindy when she was a child! It was interesting to hear all her memories and to realise how much the kindy has changed.

13.01.2022 We are registered with ShareWaste. If you have any food scraps that can go into compost or a worm farm, but nowhere to put them, you can bring them to kindy and put them in ours.

13.01.2022 Work begins on our new playground. Out with the old (you served us well) and watch this space for the new!

13.01.2022 This week is Reconciliation Week and we have been doing some art work using the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island flags. A curly palm frond fell down in our playground a couple of weeks back, and the children are decorating it with wool pieces and seed pods from our garden. We had lots of fun with it today, snipping long pieces and tiny pieces and discovering some wool that looks like the ocean.

11.01.2022 Our jacaranda tree is in full bloom, and last week we placed the easels in front of it so we could paint it. After some discussion about what colours would be needed, our artists set to work creating beautiful works of art.

11.01.2022 What a great approach to sustainability at this preschool.

10.01.2022 This week the children have been making their own signs to tell other people to watch out for their buildings. They are developing an understanding that different texts have different purposes, and also using symbols to make meaning. What a great early literacy activity.

10.01.2022 The Possum group has incorporated cloud watching into our daily Acknowledgement of Country. As we we lie on our backs and tell each other what shapes we can see in the clouds, we are also noticing the small, beautiful things of the land our kindy is on, like birds and butterflies and all our lovely trees.

09.01.2022 We had so much learning about and celebrating Holi! Thank you to all our families who made the day such a success.

08.01.2022 Some more delicious muddy play featuring our new playground. This play is focussed, engrossing and very satisfying.

07.01.2022 Lizard group visited the Prep classroom at Indooroopilly State School yesterday. We listened to a story and did some work at the Prep desks, then got to have a play on the Prep playground. It was very exciting to see the big school and find out what its like to be a Preppie.

07.01.2022 We arrived at kindy to some beautiful transient art.

06.01.2022 Some tree graffiti on our beautiful gumtree courtesy of Miss Belinda. Can you believe its August already? If you are still looking for a kindergarten in 2021, we have limited vacancies. Contact us to book a visit or add your child to our waiting list at www.candk.asn.au

05.01.2022 Sadly our Teddy Bears Picnic is cancelled today due to rain. Well reschedule for next term.

04.01.2022 How beautiful to see the "rainbow people" Jenon made. He started balancing the rainbows together and then added in the people. So lovely to see a reflection of our kindy community with our rainbow of colours.

03.01.2022 The Lizard group went on an excursion to Indooroopilly Library today, to celebrate Book Week. Weve had some visits from Liz from the Library, who read us some books that are shortlisted for awards, and today it was our turn to visit her. Liz had asked us to make some bugs for her to display for Book Week, and we were very excited to see them on the Library wall! We got to see behind the scenes in the returned books room, we dressed up and Liz read us some wonderful stories. We walked back to kindy very happy after a lovely visit!

03.01.2022 An ocean (a very muddy one) was created in our new mudpit today. Then the pleasure of heaving rocks into the puddle was discovered - lots of laughter, jumping back, and big splashes. The best way to play on a sunny, winters day.

03.01.2022 This week we were very excited to be given a native bee hive by one of our lovely families, along with some flowers in pots for the bees to make honey. We have been carefully watching the hive to spot the tiny bees. Some comments from the children: It has tunnels for the bees to go in and out. The bees are not dangerous because they have no sting. Is there a princess bee? The bees need the flowers to make honey.... If our bees dont have stings, how do they protect themselves? See more

02.01.2022 Looking for something to do with the family?

01.01.2022 I just dropped some leftover food from our open day and some vegemite sandwiches. Wendy is also collecting water for the west so if you missed out donating water at kindy a few weeks back, heres another way to help.
