25.01.2022 It’s never to early or too late to sharpen up or learn new welding techniques. This week so far, I have provided tuition to 8 welders from age 16 to 60. This little bit of handy-work belongs to a young 1st year apprentice in South Australia.... This was his second attempt at a full penetration GMAW root pass (and his 1st unassisted attempt). Similar results were also achieved by two other 1st year apprentices and one school based trainee. I was quite humbled with their results and admired their ability to listen and apply all the theory and practical advice that I had given to them earlier today. Let’s see how they all go with FCAW tomorrow and MMAW next week.

17.01.2022 I must say that I do receive great personal satisfaction by witnessing a frustrated person finally break out of the shell and refine or improve an old skill or develop a new found skill. Today I had pleasure of witnessing several welders demonstrate a remarkable step-change improvement of their technique and ability, and as a result, they are now most confidently producing welds at a much higher standard than they were able to just 1 or 2 days earlier. They are also still Sm...iling which is also an added bonus. I think it’s terrific that I am able to help them refine their skills. In fact, the personal reward makes the effort of trying to calm their frustrations and break down their barriers all worth my while. With many Boiler Shutdowns underway in our region and a significant shortage of experienced Tube welders, now is the time to seek tuition from ISC to learn or refine the skill of Tube Welding. Tig Welding - Left & Right Handed, Welding through the Tube, Welding Water Walls and Element Techniques, and Window Welding Techniques are specialised skills that are required of Tube Welders employed for Major Boiler Maintenance.... 11.01.2022 What a buzz today, I love seeing progress! I gave a brief Pipe Tig Welding demo to this crazy cat and then watched him make a few of his own mistakes. I talked him through the necessary corrections and told him to go ahead and make the repairs.... half hour later..... is this okay? Heck-yeh WINNING STELLAR PERFORMANCE, but...... Unfortunately for my ole mate, the gold star achievement goes to the young 1st year apprentice who absolutely nailed a 3G GMAW-FCAW Plate Test Coupon. (Didn’t get a photo of that one yet). Top effort lads!
