With the official start of the school year at the end of the month, parents will no doubt be thinking about book lists, uniform requirements and the dreaded lunch box dilemma, but what is often overlooked, and arguably one of the most important parts of school preparation is getting the kid’s bodies ready to return to school. Undoubtedly, the kids have spent their summer holidays swapping between running, playing, swimming and screen time, and while ...they may not realise it now suddenly returning to long hours at the desk, use of back packs, wearing large clunky school shoes and having to concentrate for long periods of time can be quite a shock to the system- commonly presenting as aches and pains in the neck, shoulders, backs and knees, headaches and irritability. At Infinite Healthcare we are offering back to school screenings and treatment for half the price of a regular consult. Our Chiropractors will assess for any underlying issues and get them in tip top shape to return to the class room. Some tips to help prevent the sudden return to backpack use negatively affecting your child: Choose a backpack with wider straps that sit nicely on the shoulders Pack the heaviest items closest to the spine and make sure all zippers are completely closed Reduce time spent wearing the backpack to less than 30 minutes at a time Ensure the backpack fits the child, the pack should not extend higher than the child’s shoulders when sitting- don’t buy a big pack to ‘grow’ in to Only pack essentials to lessen the load- use lockers where available Secure the chest and waist straps (they’re there for a reason- they transfer some of the load to the hips and pelvis!) Always wear both straps- one strapping is not cool anymore! As a healthcare service provider, Infinite Healthcare is committed to maintaining our services to our patients during the current Coronavirus pandemic. With the current concerns about COVID-19 we would like to reassure our clients that we are taking all possible measures to ensure the clinic is cleaner than ever before. ... Our priority is also ensuring the safety of all our clinic staff and patients. To this end we are following all guidelines issued by the Australian Department of Health for healthcare environments. All surfaces in the exercise / pilates room, reception and treatment rooms are being cleaned and disinfected after each appointment and towels are being changed regularly throughout the clinic. In addition to this you will most likely smell disinfectant through the clinic which is being used regularly throughout the day as well. We have advised all patients to please be mindful of any cold and flu symptoms and to postpone treatment if any illness should be present. We have provided hand sanitiser in rooms and at our front desk. Please make sure to make use of this on arrival and departure of the clinic.
