25.01.2022 It's sometimes forgotten that recruitment is a two way process, while candidates are the ones presenting resumes and attending interviews it's important that businesses don't miss the opportunity to present themselves in the best light possible. https://infinitehumancapital.com.au/tell-your-story/
25.01.2022 Fri 15th - Day 5 - 147 push-ups Australian adolescents are not getting enough sleep on school nights, averaging 6.5-7.5 hours instead of the recommended 8-9. Survey results indicate that up to 66% of adolescents are experiencing symptoms of sleep disturbance, and rates of insomnia are very high in this age group. Not enough sleep can dull our positive emotions and make it more difficult to regulate our negative emotions. Poor sleep in adolescence can convey a higher risk of developing depression later in life. As well as putting down the electronics, some other suggestions to improve sleep include getting exercise during the day, drinking caffeine before lunch only, getting some sunlight every day, making sure the sleeping environment is dark and cool, having a set bedtime and getting up the same time every day.

23.01.2022 180 push-ups in honour of the estimated cost of mental health. Its hard to quantify the total economic cost of mental ill health, which includes everything from appointments, hospital beds and medications, to more abstract costs, like lost productivity, diminished wellbeing, and decreased life expectancy. A draft report released in October 2019 by the Productivity Commission estimated that the total cost of mental ill health in Australia was approximately 180 billion dollars per year. #mentalhealth #career #selfcare #pushup

20.01.2022 I'm completing 3,128 push-ups in 21 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health. Please support me as I #pushforbetter this July The Push-Up Challenge started in 2018 and aims to raise awareness of mental health in Australia. This year, The Push-Up Challenge highlights the devastating number of Australian lives lost to suicide in 2017. 3,128 push-ups for 3,128 lives lost to suicide in 2017... 45 per cent of Australians will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life if you're also doing the challenge drop me a line so we can push each other along, if you're up for it let me know and we can form a team But most importantly please donate and help raise money to support headspace, National Youth Mental Health Organisation https://www.thepushupchallenge.com.au/pushuperer/6866
19.01.2022 Like most things poor preparation will usually result in a poor result!! Before any interview prepare....take a few minutes to check who youre meeting with, review their website and the PD and also be ready to answer some general questions about yourself. Things like your personal and professional background, interests/ hobbies and ambitions #recruitment #interview #preparation
17.01.2022 Sat 16th - Day 6 - 169 push-ups in support of our First Nations people. The effects of mental ill health are especially felt by our First Nations people. In our country suicide rates remain disproportionately high for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. In 2018, suicide was the leading cause of death for both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous children, accounting for more than a quarter (26.5%) of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander child deaths. In 2018, there were 169 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who died by suicide. #mentalhealth #wellbeing
17.01.2022 Proud to continue our involvement with Brisbane City Fc

16.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. From the summer of 1918, the five divisions of the Australian Corps had been at the forefront of the allied advance to victory. Beginning with their stunning success at the battle of Hamel in July, they helped to turn the tide of the war at Amiens i...n August, followed by the capture of Mont St Quentin and Pèronne, and the breaching of German defences at the Hindenburg Line in September. By early October the exhausted Australians were withdrawn from battle. They had achieved a fighting reputation out of proportion to their numbers, but victory had come at a heavy cost. They suffered almost 48,000 casualties during 1918, including more than 12,000 dead. In the four years of the war more than 330,000 Australians had served overseas, and more than 60,000 of them had died. The social effects of these losses cast a long shadow over the postwar decades. Remember to pause, Remember to thank, Remember to remember Lest We Forget Check the link in the comments for ways you can remember #remembranceday #lestweforget #veteranownedbusiness
16.01.2022 Join me and thousands of others in this year's Push-Up Challenge. 3,046 push-ups over 21 days. Kicks off today 11th May, Get involved! @pushforbetter @headspace_aus #mentalhealth #healthymind Dallas Wallace
15.01.2022 Support LGBTQIA+ youth An estimated 15.5%, of young LGBTIQA+ Australians have made a non-fatal suicide attempt at some point in their lives. Among trans people, that number rises to almost 50%. By this measure, the LGBTIQA+ population is the most over-represented group in the country. The driving factors behind these devastating rates of mental ill-health amongst LGBTIQA+ Australians are not well studied. However, we do know that LGBTIQA+ people continue to face high rates of discrimination and stigma from a young age. About 60% of LGBTIQA+ young people report experiencing verbal homophobic abuse, and about 80% of this abuse occurs at school. Living with discrimination and stigma has a substantial impact on levels of psychological distress and can make it harder to seek help when its needed. #mentalhealth #pushupchallenge @pushforbetter

15.01.2022 It's NAIDOC week and we encourage all Australian's to embrace the true history of this country - a history that dates back thousands of generations. 'Always Was, Always Will Be' recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers ...and first artists. Let's celebrate the history of this country. click the following link to find events in your area https://www.naidoc.org.au/get-involved/naidoc-week-events #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC

08.01.2022 Today we smashed out 171 push-ups for mental health on day 2 of @pushforbetter! Todays target represented the .% # in 2018-2019. The vast majority of these (~80%) were for anti-depressants, which were used by around . Anti-depressant medications work by increasing the availability of neurotransmitters, which affect how our nerves communicate with each other in our brains and all over our bodies. Neurotransmitters affect many parts of our lives, from our mental health, to our guts, to how we feel pain. So, even though these medications are technically called anti-depressants, they have been used for a wide range of health conditions.
