15.01.2022 - . : Its always important to me to educate my clients on lash extensions. A question Im often asked about volume lashes is why some sets differ from other in regards to retention and appearance. Ive covered off some points below on the difference between using pre-made fans vs. hand made fans - : - Pre-glued or pre-bonded which makes the bases square (see left image). This means they are unable to wrap around the natural lash, resul...ting in faster shedding - Pre-bonded means more glue will be picked up. This creates a chunkier base, which can cause discomfort while lashes are on the eyes - Pre-made fans are slightly heavier meaning that the extra weight can cause damage to the natural lash - Pre-made fans cannot be custom made for each individual natural lash therefore can create natural lash damage - : - They take less than an hour to apply a full set and refills : - It can take approx. 3 hours for a full set of hand made volume lashes, and approx. 1.5 hours for refills : - Custom made for each individual natural lash, allowing each lash to grow without damage. This means lashes can be worn for many years - Better retention as the fans can be wrapped around the natural lash (see right image) - Less glue required to adhere the hand made fans to the natural lash. Less glue means they weigh less - Each fan will blend in with one another creating a better style and shape around the eye - The bases of hand made fans are narrow, making it comfortable to wear on the eye - No chunky bases making the application seamless - Total control over the dimension on each fan thats placed on each natural lash. This means we can achieve a full look without causing damage
