23.01.2022 Are you holding onto a pair of fat pants? Throw them out now! Have you thought about why you actually keep these stashed away in the back of your closet? ... They are a safety net of sorts, in case this all doesn’t workout the way you envisioned. Commit to the action of changing your lifestyle and you won’t need the old faithfuls anymore. If you’re keeping a pair or two this is like telling yourself it’s ok to fail, to go back to the way you were before nobody even has to know you gave up therefore no embarrassment. But is that what you really want? Throw away the fat pants today and commit to the new lifestyle. No safety net, just you moving forwards.
22.01.2022 I went into a bookstore over the weekend and in the health section there were several books on intermittent fasting. Or as I like to call it skipping breakfast. I’ll save you $35 or so on a book and several hours of your time. ... If you shorten the window of time you eat between, chances are you will eat less and thus you will loose weight. Think of it this way, if I told you you can only drive your car in between the hours of 12pm and 7pm chances are you will use less petrol. Say you used to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now you’re intermittent fasting because Janice at the office is raving about how magical it is. You decide to see what all the fuss is about and now you only eat lunch and dinner. Little does Janice know that there is nothing supernatural about I.F. There is no secret wisdom known only to the intermittent fasting gods. You are dropping how many calories you eat considerably, of course you are going to loose weight. If you like eating in the morning cool, if you don’t like eating in the morning that’s cool too. For me personally it’s constantly changing, some days I’ll have breakfast at 8.30am and some days I won’t eat until 1pm. Just know that the crux of every diet known to man is a calorie deficit. Some form of eating less. For example the no sugar diet, keto (very low/no carbs+ high fat, moderate protein), carnivore(meat only), vegan (no meat), intermittent fasting (shortened eating window). So on and so on.

10.01.2022 If going to the gym was your only anchor to a healthy lifestyle, you may want to spend some time thinking why that is? The pursuit of health should come from within you, be apart of you identity and core beliefs and not be affected by external conditions such as gyms being shut. Times are tough I won’t deny that and everyone’s situation is different, maybe you’re responsible for looking after three under three all day and expected to get a days work done too. With change co...mes challenging times and situations. I’ve noticed that a lot of people seem to be abandoning their fitness goals and throwing the baby out with the bath water because their gym or pt is temporarily closed. Turning to alcohol and food for comfort. Disheartening sure, but enough to cause you to abandon all hope, no. Going to the gym is albeit a pillar of a health focused lifestyle but it is not all there is to a healthy lifestyle. You still have the control to eat well and look after your nutrition. The control to get enough sleep, making sure you go to bed at a reasonable time to ensure you’re well rested and maintaining a regular routine. The control to move well, do home workouts, go for walks and do mobility drills from home. Spend more time on the things that keep you sane. Use this less than optimal situation to your advantage by learning new dishes to cook, trying new styles of training from home, new exercises, walking/running more, spending more quality time with your loved ones, reading more. Sure it’s probably not the best time to focus on a fat loss period for a lot of people with everything that’s going on right now. And for some it’s a great time to focus with the removal of social temptations of food and drink. But if you can maintain most of your healthy habits through this worldwide pandemic with a good attitude, When this is all over and things return to some form of normality nothing will be able to stop you reaching your goals. Feel free to reach out and message me if you’re struggling in these trying times

05.01.2022 Please share. Another update about the ongoing forced gym closures in Victoria. Still no answers, still no opening date and still no consultation.... We will not be silent. We will not give up on the relentless pursuit of what is right, what is essential and safe. The government refuses to listen. They just don’t get it. People out there struggling. Physically and mentally without their home away from home. They are missing their coping mechanism. Missing their community. Missing their daily gym fix, that in many cases is the only thing that they have to look forward to. Please continue to support our cause, our mission and our passion. Send this to everyone you can. The media, the politicians and your local member of Parliament. I am here for all of you. I will not stop fighting for what we believe in. Can’t stop, won’t stop! @danielandrewsmp @martinfoleymp @martinpakulamp @vic_active @fitnessaustralialtd
