11.01.2022 Cash rate inertia has continued with the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) holding the official cash rate at a record-low of 1.5 per cent. It has been two and a half years (August 2016) since the RBA last made a monetary policy adjustment. All analysts on rate comparison website Finder.com.aus panel predicted a hold verdict.Chief economist at AMP Capital and Finder panellist Shane Oliver observed: Things arent yet weak enough to push the RBA to cut but they arent strong enough to push it to hike either.
