25.01.2022 A friend sent this story. I have not checked out this story. Hoever it is powerful and we know Jesus does this kind of miracle. Praise God. Muslim man in Egypt killed his wife because she was reading the Bible and then buried her with their infant baby and an 8 year old daughter. The girls were buried alive! then He reported to the police that an uncle killed the kids. 15 days later, another family member died. When they went to bury him, they found the 2 little girls unde...r the sand - ALIVE! The country is outraged over the incident, and the man will be executed. The older girl was asked how she had survived and she says 'A man wearing shiny clothes, with bleeding wounds in his hands, came every day to feed us. He woke up my mom so she could nurse my sister,' she said. She was interviewed on Egyptian National TV, by availed Muslim woman news anchor. She said on public TV, 'This was none other than JESUS, because nobody else does things like this!', Muslims believe Isa (JESUS) would do this, but the wounds mean He really was crucified, and it's clear also that He is alive! But, it's also clear that the child could not make up a story like this, and there is no way these children could have survived without a true miracle. Muslim leaders are going to have a hard time to figure out what to do with this, and the popularity of the Passion movie doesn't help! With Egypt at the centre of the media and education in the Middle East , you can be sure this story will spread.Christ is still turning the world upside down! Please let this story be shared. The Lord says, 'I will bless the person who puts his trust in me.' Jeremiah 17.. Please forward this to all on your list and GOD will reward you abundantly!!!!!!!!!!! Please finish reading before you do anything else right now. Read this to the end. My name is God. I know you will give your time for me. I love you and always bless you. I am always with you. I need you to spend 30 minutes of your time with me today. Don't pray. Just praise. Today I want this message across the world before midnight. Will you help? Please do not cut it and I'll help you with something that you are in need of. God Bless. See more

24.01.2022 This was sent to me today. I thought I share it with you as it fits into the theme about Jesus. He is everything. God bless. https://www.facebook.com/superhensley/videos/10222686436333780/?t=0

24.01.2022 It has been quite a while since we have focused on our Home Group study-time. Currently we are studying the book of Luke. We discovered that there is a theme a running through the early chapters: the theme of CHANGE IS COMING. Luke 4:18 Jesus begins His ministry with an announcement that: captives will be set free the blind will see the oppressed will be freed of oppression... Jesus then gives a demonstration of this in verses 36, 39,40, 41 Like 5:10 Jesus continues His theme of changes to come: His disciples will no longer catch fish but people Luke 5: 20-39 more changes: people will be forgiven for their sins - another demo focus on seeking sinners instead of excluding them no more fasting while the Master is with us new wine needs new wine skins so NEW ERA REQUIRES A NEW PARADIGM - new thinking See more

23.01.2022 Week 3: 1 John 2:7,8 What is John saying about an old commandment and a new commandment? The old commandment is the word you have heard The new commandment is in Him and in you because the true Light is already shining.... In John's gospel 3:18,19 we can find what Jesus says brings judgement. Ordinarily we think judgement comes from breaking the law. How do we put these 2 ideas together? Compare John 16;8 1 John 2:9-11 What is the command? Walk in the Light. This is evidenced by how you relate to your brother. Loving or hating your brother. What does John say in his gospel about coming into the Light? So it can be shown that his deeds/works have been done in God. Loving our brothers and sisters/neighbours is something that is a God-driven capacity. 1 John 2:20 tells us how this is accomplished. You have an anointing by the Holy One John writes to 3 groups in 1John 2:12-14. What are these groups and what does John say in his gospel about one of these groups in John 1:12,13? Children, fathers and young men. God gives the right for us to become sons of God when we receive Jesus as the Messiah and believe in His Name. We are then no longer born of the flesh but of God. Can you see how each of these passages points to the fact that God offers us not just eternal life in Jesus Christ but also the new birth, anointed by the Spirit to walk as Jesus walked?

21.01.2022 Week 8: 1 John 4:1 What warning does John give? *test the spirits to see if they are from God See also Jeremiah 29:8 and 14:14 1 Thessalonians 5:20+ and 2 Thessalonians 2:2... 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2:1+ These verses show instances of true and false prophets and what God said about some 1 John 4:2 - 6 What guidelines does John give? *true spirits confess that Jesus came in the flesh *take note of the audience of any prophet/messenger.etc. Are they engaging worldly people in their sin or are they focusing on God and His Word? One question: How do we deal with those who are not speaking the gospel truth? Here is a link that may give some guidance of what to look for. https://www.desiringgod.org//test-the-spirits-to-see-wheth See more

21.01.2022 Week 2: I must apologize for the typos in the last post. In this study we looked at 1 John 2:1-6. John has already given 2 reasons why he is writing this epistle: so our joy may be complete/full/ mature and so we may have fellowship with the Father and His Son. He now gives 2 more reasons. What are they?... * so we may not sin * so we will know that if we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One What conclusion did we come to last week about sin in 1 John 1:8-10? -if we say we have no sin - this is not true - we are deceiving ourselves -if we say have not sinned - we make Him a liar - His Word is not in us REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS What is John saying about sin here? What do you believe sin is? (This is crucial to your beliefs about salvation) 1 John 2:2 What 2 important points does John mention here? Jesus is the propitiation/atonement/makes amends for our sins AS WELL AS the sins of the whole world. REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS Really? The whole world? Do we really believe this? What does this really mean? 1 John 2:3-6 What is John referring to in verse 3? If we know we have come to know Him - is this the result of fellowship with the Father and the Son? What is the result of coming to know Him? # we will keep His commandments # we will keep His Word # the love of God is perfected in us # we will walk as He walked - by abiding in Him REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS What are His commandments? His Word? Is it the 10 commandments or more than that?

15.01.2022 "Modern religion focuses upon filling churches with people. The true gospel emphasizes filling people with God." AW Tozer

15.01.2022 I have considered sharing a post each week with the highlights of our Zoom session Bible study. I am making a start and hope I can keep it up. This is our 3rd week this year and we are studying 1 John as a follow-on from the gospel of John last year. So week 1: What is the theme of the verses in 1John 1:1-4? Why is John writing again about this?... What has John already established in his gospel? see John 1:1-5 The theme is the Word at the beginning IS eternal life. John shares again so that our joy may be complete and we will have fellowship with the Father and the Son. In his gospel John already established the Word was with God and was God; is the Creator of all things and He is LIFE and the LIGHT of men, shining is the darkness. Humans do not all accept the LIGHT. God is LIGHT with no hint of darkness. What does fellowship with the WORD look like? What does results does it bring? see 1 John 1:6,7 compare John 11:9,10 Fellowship is NOT walking in darkness and there is no room for pretending to fellowship with the WORD. It brings genuine fellowship with other believers and the blood of Jesus of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. This is both a reminder of an established fact and a promise that God will work in us through His Holy Spirit. How can we handle sin in our lives? 1 John 1:8-10 Recognise our sinful state as Paul writes in Romans 5: 6-10. To deny this makes Jesus a liar and it distances us from Him. We then confess our sins which He will forgive and cleanse us. This is just a brief overview. There is much more to discover here. See more

15.01.2022 Week 7 1 John 3:19-22 John says that we will know that we are of the truth. What 4 things will help us to know that we are of the truth? *our actions demonstrate our love for others *we persuade our heart (conscience) to respond to God's promptings... *we keep His commands; do what pleases Him *our conscience does not condemn us Why is this only relevant for believers? see 1 Timothy 4:2 When we are of the truth, what do we gain> * confidence before God * we receive what we ask for How does John sum this up in verses 23, 24? *His command is * to believe in the Name of the Son, Jesus * to love each other * this is possible because we abide in Him and He in us * this abiding is by the Spirit What statement could we make concerning how this happens when we also consider what we have learned from John's gospel and Romans 5? When we accept that the death of Jesus on our behalf has given us many benefits including - being set free from Satan, being forgiven, being restored into a relationship with Him, being justified and sanctified; then God has promised to send us His Spirit to be with us and in us, to remind us of His words, give us words to speak and bring the very life of Jesus into us for the day in order that we may have His thoughts, His feelings, and His motives. When this happens we will receive what we ask for because our thoughts are in line with His thoughts. We can love others because we have His love and compassion. There can be no condemnation for those who are in such close relationship with our wonderful God.

15.01.2022 Before John Wayne passed away! Most of you know John Wayne as an actor. You may not know what happened to him before he died. This is that story! Robert Schuller...’s teenage daughter, Cindy, was in a motorcycle accident and had to have her leg amputated. John Wayne is a big fan of Robert Schuller. He heard Dr. Schuller say on one of his programs that his daughter had been in an accident and had to have her leg amputated. John Wayne wrote a note to her saying: Dear Cindy, sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you will be all right. Signed, John Wayne. The note was delivered to her and she decided she wanted to write John Wayne a note in reply. She wrote: Dear Mr. Wayne, I got your note. Thanks for writing to me. I like you very much. I am going to be all right because Jesus is going to help me. Mr. Wayne, do you know Jesus? I sure hope you know Jesus, Mr. Wayne, because I cannot imagine heaven being complete without John Wayne being there. I hope, if you don’t know Jesus, that you will give your heart to Jesus right now. See you in heaven. And she signed her name. She had just put that letter in an envelope, sealed it, and written across the front of it John Wayne when a visitor came into her room to see her. He said to her: What are you doing? She said: I just wrote a letter to John Wayne, but I don’t know how to get it to him. He said: That’s funny, I am going to have dinner with John Wayne tonight at the Newport Club down at Newport Beach. Give it to me and I will give it to him. She gave him the letter and he put it in his coat pocket. There were twelve of them that night sitting around the table for dinner. They were laughing and cutting up and the guy happened to reach in his pocket and felt that letter and remembered. John Wayne was seated at the end of the table and the guy took the letter out and said: Hey, Duke, I was in Schuller’s daughter’s room today and she wrote you a letter and wanted me to give it to you. Here it is. They passed it down to John Wayne and he opened it. They kept on laughing and cutting up and someone happened to look down at John Wayne. He was crying. One of them said: Hey, Duke, what is the matter? He said (and can’t you hear him saying it?): I want to read you this letter. He read the letter. Then he began to weep. He folded it, put it in his pocket, and he pointed to the man who delivered it to him and said: You go tell that little girl that right now, in this restaurant, right here, John Wayne gives his heart to Jesus Christ and I will see her in heaven. Three weeks later John Wayne died! You never know how your witness to another will effect their eternity!

14.01.2022 Week 9: 1 John 4:7-10 John again gives a big emphasis on love. What are the key points he makes about love? *love each other *love is from God *all who love are born of God and know God... *all who know God and are born of Him will love *love is of God *the love that is of God is manifested in us #God sent His Son into the world #so that we might live through Him *TRUE LOVE is that God loved us first and He sent His Son as an atonement for our sins 1 John 4: 11 - 17 How is it possible for sinful human beings to love as God loves? *God abiding in us so He perfects His love in us * we know this because He has given us His Spirit *we KNOW that Jesus was sent by the Father to save the world * this gives us confidence in the judgment 1 John 4:18 - 21 What extra points does John make about TRUE love? * no fear * perfect love casts out fear * always love for fellow human beings Question for REFLECTION: How can this be? We cannot manufacture this or even imitate it as it is entirely foreign to us. It has to be God's work alone See more

10.01.2022 When we think of the love of God towards us. this is the most amazing miracle. He has done this and paid it forward even though we do not deserve anything. Today I saw a really inspirational clip that I want to share with you. I pray that the Holy Spirit fill you with his thought and feeling and that you can share the love of God. https://www.facebook.com/dharmannofficial/videos/1045776832491970/?t=0

09.01.2022 Week 6: 1 John 3:10-20 John comes back to the new/old commandment - love your brother. In verse 12 what example does John give and what reason for the outcome? *Cain killed Abel because his deeds were evil and Abel's were righteous... Consider these verses: Psalm 38:19, 20; Proverbs 29:10 and John 8:40, 41, 44 In 1 John 3:13 What is John's conclusion? *don't be surprised if the world hates you What strong statement does John then make in verses 14,15? *you have passed from death to life if you love your brother How do we recognize those living in love in verses 16,17? *willing to give your life for your brother *willing to support your brother when he is in need What do we understand from this? What is being willing to "give our life for our brother"? See Philippians 2:17 - pour out as a 'drink offering' 1 Thessalonians 2:8 - become very dear to us Deuteronomy 15:7,8 - not closing our hand/heart to brothers 1John 3:19-22 What is the conclusion? *love in practice - by our actions See more

08.01.2022 Week 10: 1 John 5:1-4. John mentions 'born of God' 2 times. What point is he making? * whoever believes Jesus is the Christ * overcomes the world The word 'born' means to become the father of ... / to regenerate, conceive, be delivered, to make spring. Let's look at John 1:13 ... children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.... SIGNS that a person is born of God (1 John 5:1-3) * each believes Jesus is the Messiah * each loves the Father * each loves the children of God * each keeps God's commandments What is the final characteristic of those born of God, that John mentions? v4,5 * overcomes the world 'Overcome' means to subdue, conquer, get the victory. Verse 4 whatever is born of God (God has become his/her Father), subdues the world, conquers the world, gains the victory over the world. WHOEVER BELIEVES JESUS IS THE CHRIST - What is the implication of the word BELIEVE? * to know * to trust/to commit to put trust in Christ * to have faith in a person - implying to trust one's spiritual well-being to Christ To believe what God's says eg 1 Timothy 4:18 'The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom ...' 06.01.2022 Week 4 1 John 2: 15-18 Why does John give a warning about loving the world? Can you find 2 reasons? *time is running out *antichrist is coming Who is antichrist? see verse 22... the one who denies the Father and the Son For further thoughts see Matt 24:5, 24 - false Christs and prophets claiming to be Christ, miracles see I John 4:3 - those not confessing Jesus is from God see 2 John 7 - those not acknowledging Jesus came in the flesh More reasons for John's warning can be found in 1 John 2:19, 26. Can you find them? *they come among us and then leave, never part of us * they come to deceive us See also Acts 20:29, 30 and 1 Cor 11:19 * savage wolves come in to destroy the flock * some arise from among us to gain a following, draw away * these things happen in order to prove who really belongs What does John say about the love of the world in 1 John 2:15-17? *love of the world is lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life * this love is passing away therefore cannot live forever * none of these are from the Father * there is no room for the love of the Father What hope does John give us in 1 John 2:20-24, 27? * we have an anointing from the Holy One. He teaches us * we already have the knowledge * if we confess the Son we have the Father also * if we allow the knowledge we have heard from the beginning to abide in us, we will abide in the Son & Father What is the ultimate promise made by Jesus Himself in verses 25, 28, 29? * eternal life * no shame or fear of His coming * the ability to recognize those born of God How does this relate to what is written in Romans 12:2, James 4:4? * do not be conformed to the world but rather transformed by the renewing of your mind (by the Holy Spirit) * friends of the world are enemies of God, committing spiritual adultery Does anyone have an image or picture in mind of what this passage is depicting? 03.01.2022 Here are the power points from our seminar

02.01.2022 Week 5: 1 John3:1 John seems to bring the discussion to a climax. What is his climactic statement? * What a great love the Father has bestowed on us * so we can be called the children of God The word 'agape' means 'love feast'. How beautiful is that?... On the same topic of love, the 'agapeo' which is used when speaking of love of the world, can also mean 'to take pleasure in", 'to caress', 'to treat with affection'. What has John already told us about the children of God in his gospel ch 1:12? * only those who believe in the Name of the true Light * only those who receive Him How do we know we are the children of God? Romans 8:16 * the Holy Spirit testifies with our spirit 1 John 3:2-11 What does John say are the characteristics of the children of God? *they will be like Him at His coming *each purifies himself because of the hope of His coming *practice righteousness, not sin/lawlessness *cannot sin because ... *they are born of God and His Seed abides in them *each loves his brother Why does John say the Son of God appeared? #to take away the sins of the world #to destroy the works of the devil QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION; How do the children of God purify themselves? v 3 What does it mean they cannot sin? v9 Could it have something to do with the love of the world, pride of life, boasting? See John 9 and what the Pharisees were saying. See more

01.01.2022 Considering the theme so far in the gospel of Luke: A NEW ERA IS COMING REQUIRING A NEW WAY OF THINKING, we can ask an important question: Can we see any parallels with what Jesus was saying during His ministry on earth and what we are hearing today in our current world political arena, especially as regards 2021? Luke 6:2-9 Jesus begins to challenge the laws of the day regarding what is lawful to do on the Sabbath Luke 6:20, 23 Jesus begins to set out the principles for His ...kingdom He says those who have these characteristics will be blessed - meaning DOUBLY BLESSED ie those who are poor in spirit - they own the new kingdom hunger - they will be satisfied weeping - they will be laughing hated by men - have great reward in heaven Compare what Jesus says in Luke 6:24 -26 - LOOK OUT rich - what you have is all you will get well-fed - you will be hungry laughing - you will then be crying popular & honoured by world - you will be found to false prophets Instead of the desire for wealth, choose contentment See more
