25.01.2022 InFront Models has had a number of inquiries about a muff gear replacement for failed Austrains locomotives, since the release of the new replacement gears for Trainorama locomotives. Pictured below is a 3D design to suit all the Austrains locomotives (excluding the X, T & Y Class locomotives). These will be available in the coming weeks for Modellers, featuring the same robust performance design as the Trainorama equivalent.

25.01.2022 ***New kit from IFM*** Coming in early 2021! Fielders Glucose, LGX/NZGX container wagon. Three of these wagons ran between Tamworth, Sydney and Melbourne, from mid 1970’s to mid 1990’s. These wagons were modified from GLX Louvre van wagons with the welded under frame style. Having the body removed and welded flat plate to the frame to support the containerised loads. ... Completely developed in house by IFM with 3D design & printing, to create accurate masters for casting in urethane for a highly detailed kit. Watch this space for further updates and pricing.

25.01.2022 Easy fitment of Black Gears The response from modellers for Black Gears has truly been amazing. The praise from the modelling community has been fantastic with an alternative being made available. To date over 5000 gears have been printed to assist modellers to fix their locomotives and give new life to an otherwise static model. There are tools available from different model suppliers with means of pushing axles into gears, which is great. However; they can be difficult to s...ource at times. One alternative that was told to me from a modeller, Bar Clamps. Bunnings in Australia, sell a small 100mm version for less than $5.00 for a pair. They work great and offer a means of pushing in the stub axles into the gear, which can be difficult at times. Loosely assemble the axles and gear. Place between the clamps and apply pressure by squeezing the pistol grip. Once you feel that the axles have stopped moving, remove the wheel set and check the back to back of the wheels is set to near 14.5mm for Code 100 track (14.75mm for code 75 tracks). As I said early, I cannot take credit for this method. However; I appreciate the knowledge being shared and further shared with the modelling fraternity. Thank you

25.01.2022 Coil Wire Loads by InFront Models The latest product to be released by IFM, 3D printed Coil Wire loads. Inspired by the block wire train that ran from BHP, Newcastle to Ashfield, Sydney. With wire strands detail both inside and outside the coil rolls, this will enhance any open wagon load with the level of detail produced.... The wire rolls have been designed to fit 3 across internally for most open wagons. Typically a S Truck would carry 14 rolls, while a HGM would fit 33. The large BDX wagon would fit 39 rolls. The more modern NOCF wire wagon can fit 60 rolls with its cradle design. Pack of 20 rolls is priced at $15.00 You can make your purchase at IFM with PayPal or your preferred card. https://infrontmodels.com.au//detailed-coil-wire-loads-20/

24.01.2022 New product to the IFM range. 5 & 6 spoke truck and trailer, split wheel sets. Commonly nicknamed Spider hubs, these were standard running gear for trucks used all over Australia in the late half of the 20th Century. Still used by the trucking industry today, now not so common with prime movers as alloy rims being preferred. Still very mainstream with trailers. ... The wheel sets come in four various packs. Two truck and two trailer variates, 6 wheel sets in each version. Packs are priced $15.00 each. Wheels have high detail, with wheel nuts, tyre tread patterns and hubs. Also includes a drilling jig to help centre the axle in the back of the wheels. https://infrontmodels.com.au/product-catego//detail-items/

24.01.2022 A big thank you to all of you who supported InFront Models at the EMRC exhibition at Rosehill. It was certainly great to meet and put some names to faces. It has been 5 years since I last had a stand at an exhibition, so it was great to be back. Unfortunately IFM wont be at the, AMRA, Liverpool, exhibition this year due to family commitments that same long weekend. However; I have been approached by other retailers who are very keen to stock IFM products in their range. One shop which would be familiar with most is, Australian Modeller, at Seven Hills. Keep an eye out there in the coming weeks for the range of kits and accessories from IFM.

23.01.2022 First generation coil cradles will be available from IFM next weekend at EMRC Rosehill Exhibition . Four different versions have been designed and 3D printed as used by the Railways and steel industry during the 1970s, 1980s & 1990s. These were shorter in length compared to the more modern versions seen today. 5 cradles could be placed inline inside a 450 open wagon or modified flat wagon. A photo comparison below shows the difference between the popular Auscision Models modern version cradle and the 3D printed cradle. Two pack versions will be available. Each pack has four cradles with type design types. $12 per pack. (Steel coil is for illustration purpose only and not included. Painted samples for illustration purpose only.)

23.01.2022 Well what another fantastic weekend was had at the EMRC Rosehill Exhibition. Thank you to all who came by to say hi and purchased items from the IFM range. The 3D printed forklift kits was received well by modellers. Also the pallet and drum packs sold really well too. Its always great to see other modellers sharing their photos of their efforts. Phillip Waller of Wangaratta, shared his photo with IFM of what he has done with the pallets and drums. He went on to explain th...at they made a great substrate to use up the last of the contents of almost empty Tamiya spray cans before disposal. A great idea and great results! Im keen to see what modellers come up with their interpretations of the forklift kits. Also a shout out to Harley McAlister. Thank you for your help with the IFM stand over the three days. As a soul trader, having that extra helping hand makes a huge difference and having a stress free weekend.

20.01.2022 The NSW ICX/NQIX container wagon kit by InFront Models has finally come to fruition. The first run of kits has started to be posted out to those that took up the EOI late last year. This did take longer than expected unfortunately, due to waiting on parts to be made or supplied for the kit. I big thank you to Steven Pracy of SDS Models, supplying bogies for the kits. Thank you to Keiran Ryan, from Keiran Ryan Models, designed and arranged for the brass etchings for the kit. A...lso a big thanks to Brenden Grace from All Aboard, Mittagong, in arranging the supply of 0.4mm wire that goes into the kit. My eldest daughter MJ (12 yo) has also helped with the packing of parts into the kits, which I am also very thankful for. As you can see, it takes a lot of coordinating with outside sources to achieve a kit of this calibre. Finally the modellers of the NSW railways. Your support and words of encouragement are the driving force to produce these unique kits. Moving on, there will be a second run of the ICX kit a little later this year. Keep an eye out for the announcement here on the IFM Facebook in the coming months. Regards, Aaron Denning InFront Models

19.01.2022 HOW TO FIT & REPLACE MUFF GEARS If you have not changed gears in a Trainorama locomotive before, Ive put together a tutorial of how it can be done. If youre not confident enough still after reading this, ask someone who maybe able to help you. If you have an alternative way of removing the gear train cover plate, please comment below and share your method. I have found from personal experience, that petroleum based lubricant can have a detrimental effect on some plastic...Continue reading

16.01.2022 There has been many debates had about the colour paint used on the NSWGR RUB passenger carriages or, the colour of the glass of the windows. Here at InFront Models it can be confirmed that the under floor of the carriage was BLUE. The RUB floor insert to suit the Silvermaz Kit available for the SFS/SBS carriages. Also available is the RS buffet carriage floor insert. $20.00 each is a great way to enhance the detail of the kits.

15.01.2022 Just a message to modellers that Ive taken annual leave for the rest of July and travelling with my family. Orders can still be made via the website however; wont be processed until the beginning of August. Pictured below is Sunset from Fitzroy Island, FNQ. ... Regards, Aaron Denning InFront Models

15.01.2022 You cant keep a good modeller down. Brenden Grace has been at it again with building, painting and weathering IFM loads and containers. Good news is Brenden will have his models on display on the layout Binalong. At the, EMRC Model Railway Exhibition, Rosehill, Sydney, on Monday of the long weekend.

12.01.2022 The LCL tank kits will be made available once more very soon. Also; new artwork has been drawn up to expand the range of company LCL tanks.

11.01.2022 Gday modellers! From time to time I get asked, whats the best glue or, what glue do I use to assemble urethane kits? For me its a personal choice. I do prefer the Selleys brand of superglue and ZAP-A-GAP brand as well. ZAP-A-GAP make various glue viscosity which have their purpose. Now when gluing urethane the surface does need some preparation. A rough surface gives a much stronger bond rather than a smooth surface. Secondly, the two surfaces need to be touching each oth...er for a strong join. 1. Remove any flash along any surface edge with a sharp blade or small file. 2. Prepare the surface that will be glued by sanding the surface and scratching the area. This helps the glue to key into the surface. 3. How the surfaces should look. 4. Always dry fit the castings to ensure a clear join is made. In this cast a nice flush join between the two surfaces. 5. Ive found it good practice to apply a small amount of glue on a small card or similar. You can always add more glue to the card, rather than applying the glue directly from he tube to the urethane surface. This can result with too much glue coming out and ruining the model and left with a difficult clean up task. Tooth picks make for a great applicator for the glue. Cheap and easy to trim a fresh tip when too much glue has dried on the end. 6. Apply a liberal amount of glue to one surface and them bring the two pieces together. 7. Use a square tool or similar to check a join is square and true if required. You do need to act fast with some superglued as some start to cure within 10 seconds once exposed to air. Brands like ZAP-A-GAP do offer a slower reaction time. This does mean holding or using a clamp or jig to hold the parts until the glue cures. The final picture shows two examples of a good join and a poor join. Joins with open gaps offer weak adhesion and tend to be flimsy and break apart more frequently. I hope this helps modellers and answer some questions. Please dont hesitate to send a message with a modelling question around urethane kit assembly. Regards, Aaron Denning InFront Models

11.01.2022 The last month for IFM has been a busy one. The LCL tanker kit has been well received by modellers. So much so that the brass hook etchings that go into the kit have been completely exhausted! So that in turn has put a halt on producing the kit for the short term while more are being made. InFront Models will be attending the Epping Model Railway Club Exhibition, at Rosehill, Sydney, this coming long weekend. This year will mostly be a focus on wagon loads and containers. Fro...m coal loads for S trucks to Tautliner containers for intermodal works. At the same time IFM would like to introduce the former urethane castings that was Scaleways. These are now known as Retro Resin by InFront Models . There will be some samples on display of models being prepared for production in the near future as well as some castings that will be available for the first time. One of which is the first generation steel coil cradles, first introduced in the early 1980s and used up until 2000s. There are two kinds to choose from, small medium coil cradle and, large coil cradle. At $5.00 per kit, it works out at good value to the model who has a focus on period modelling or would like some variety to the steel train. I look forward to seeing you at the exhibition. 11.01.2022 ***NEW PRODUCT FROM IFM*** 44 Gallon drums load with partitions to suit the SDS Models SO wagon. Many S wagons were recoded to SO and retro fitted with metal angle slots to position wooden partitions to retain oil drums. During 1960s to the early 1980s, these wagons were used extensively to rural petroleum depots across the state of NSW, to deliver products to drum shed holding facilities.... IFM has designed and 3D printed a reproduction for modellers, of this once commonly seen drum load in the iconic wagon, colloquially known as the S Truck. The simple kit is designed to fit a single wagon. All the modeller need do is remove the partitions from their spure, painted in their choice of wood colour. The drums are printed as a single piece and only requires to be painted in any preferred colour. A decal sheet with 9 different wagon numbers is also included to choose from. The drum load kit is now available for $15.00, the link below will take you to the product page if you would like to make a purchase. https://infrontmodels.com.au//44-gallon-oil-drums-load-to/

08.01.2022 Product performance issue. It has come to InFront Models attention that customers in recent times have been experiencing Black Gears cracking or splitting when fitting to the stub axles of their Trainorama model locomotives. This has been isolated to a bad batch of printing resin that was used in the production of the gears, in February and March of 2020. If you have had this experience of gears failing when being installed, please contact InFront Models via email. If you ...could provide a proof of purchase from the retailer you purchased the gears from, IFM can address the issue with you. Email: [email protected] New resin is now being used to print the gears, which has been quality checked and is performing as they should. InFront Models apologises for any inconvenience this has caused modellers during this time. Regards, Aaron Denning InFront Models

05.01.2022 Admittedly InFront Models has been quite on Facebook with updates and a few have pondered what has been happening? A great deal in fact! A lot of R&D has been happening behind the scenes at IFM HQ. In one area in particular; 3D Digital Light Processor (DLP) or Resin Printing. A forklift kit based on a 1970s Toyota prototype, has been designed for both HO and 7mm scale modellers. The HO kit comes with 2 x forklifts and 20 x Australian standard pallets as used by CHEP and... LOSCAM pallet hire companies. The 7mm version comes with 1 x Forklift and 10 x pallets. Both scale of kits will be for sale for $25 each at the EMRC Rosehill Exhibition. These would make for a great addition to any factory or industrial scene on a layout or even loads for a wagon or flat bed container. The kits have been designed for easy assembly with only 3 parts to go together for the forklift. If you are looking to purchase pallets on their own, these will be also available as separate items in their respective pack quantities as what is included in the kits. These will be for sale at $10 per set. (Please note: the figure seated on the forklift is for illustration purpose only and is not included in the kits. Forklift painted with RAAF logo is for illustration purpose only. RAAF decals will be available upon request at the exhibition if desired as a separate purchase.) See more

03.01.2022 First post from IFM in 2020 Not a lot of action over the December-January holiday period. In fact the IFM website was not available (again) due to a host server issue. However; it is up and running again for modellers. The Black Gears to replace failed Trainorama model locomotives, have been very popular and the feedback positive. Ive had a number of modellers contacting IFM, with thanks and praise, to have come up with a fix for models which have sat dormant for a numbe...r of years unable to run. The good news continues with gears to be made available for Austrains models which have suffered from the same fate. One project that I have been working on are small NSW Police and Taxi kits to modify Auscision Models, XD Ford Falcon and Holden VB Commodore. These will be made available very soon as well. Ive done a good amount of research to make these cars look as close to what they would of looked like in the day. Ive consulted a retired Highway Patrol Police Officer as well as other sources to make sure they look the part. Certainly a great way to help reinforce an era in time and create a more realistic story to your layout. Ill make a more generic Taxi Oval logo so it can help set a scene with something like West Radio Taxis or Country Taxi Services, something that would suit the era of the cars. Im open to ideas and suggestions from modellers for generic taxi names. As always, thank you for your on going support! Regards, Aaron Denning InFront Models
