15.01.2022 Forest Managers are increasingly making the commitment to sustainable forest practices across the globe. But, this ends at the forest gate! To truly commit to saving our environment every link in the supply chain must be held accountable for where they source their products. Consumers must fully engage in the procurement of sustainable wood & wood products so as to send the message down the supply chain. http://news.mongabay.com//0317-zero-deforestation-commitme

04.01.2022 FROM THE BOTTOM UP! Responsible procurement of certified sustainable wood products relies heavily on the commitment of the National Government, Industry Bodies and Stakeholders to drive the development of a National SFM Standard. From the bottom up, consumers, retailers and the full supply chain need a sustainable source. It took years for Europe, Nth America and Australia (10yrs+ ago) to develop their SFM Schemes. As major trade partners to those countries Asia is accomplishing this in a much shorter timeframe. National SFM Schemes throughout Asia have strong Government commitment this will reflect strongly in their export and import policies

02.01.2022 Global SFM Certification Expansion The announcement last week regarding the Chinese SFM Scheme (CFCS) achieving PEFC endorsement is a 'Game Changer' for the global trade markets for sustainable certified wood & wood products. China's decision to go down the PEFC path has lead other Asian countries to bring forward their plans to achieve global recognition. This includes; India, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, South Korea and Thailand and Indonesia has submitted their National SFM scheme, IFCC, for PEFC endorsement. These developments and commitment to independent certified sustainable Forest Management is a positive leap forward.
