25.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, Sorry it has been a long time since our last post. Well folks it has been a rollercoaster of a ride with the weather, we ended last year from hot/dry with poor condition cattle, to very big falls of rain which kept going until early Febuary as you all know.... This resulted in a major flooding event from the coast to the far west. We would like to take this opportunity to send our good wishes, thoughts and prayers to all the people out west. Cattle prices have also been heavily affect by the weather. Cattle prices rose steeply as soon as the rain fell out in the west, expecting that they could restock. Those prices were short lived as graziers from the west were unable to restock due to conditions beyond the their control. Much of the west as well as the cape, was still in a server drought pushing large numbers of cattle onto the market. Roma had sales of up to 8000 head. Longreach sale yards had their first sale for many years with large numbers of cattle coming in from the gulf country. Charters Towers sales recorded large numbers, pushing prices down as low as 50 cents per kg for light weight cows. We are now happy to report that the prices have come back up. According to the weather expertise we are looking at a elnino weather pattern, which means dry weather. Due to the wet weather in the beginning of the year we have a backlog of work. We would like to point out, as the weather is drying we are becoming busier, as we are already heavily booked for the month of May and taking bookings well into June & July. So please do not hesitate to call. We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy & save Easter. Until next Cheers :)

25.01.2022 Hi everyone, Hasn't the year gone fast and been very different starting off with a small wet season then covid19 hitting us very fast. Even though it was a small wet season the cattle have been in prime condition and good weights. Our biggest beast we killed this year weighed in at dressed weight of 492kg (photo will be uploaded later).... Even though we had new clients we managed to fulfill all the bookings which means we have no carry over BUT we have already got a large amount of clients booked in for 2021. Due to me having a operation and being in hospital for a couple of weeks, we will not be getting our Christmas cards out so we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support and looking forward to your support next year. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Drive, stay safe & cool Until next year Cheers :)

24.01.2022 Here are the photos I said I would post, sorry it took me a bit of time still trying to remember how to load them without having to drag out my little book to help me. Enjoy

23.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone, Sorry we have not been on for awhile but we have been really busy trying to catch up with Christmas fast approaching. PLEASE if you want your freezer filled before Christmas ring up and book in as we have limited spaces left, I would like to have no carry over liked we did last year. Please keep in mind if you are thinking about doing a killer after the season you may not get in due to the early wet season as predicted. ... Clive killed 4 beast in one week, 3 of them being quite big the weights were:- 350kg, 416kg, 460kg. I will post some photos at a later date. Until next time Cheers :)

22.01.2022 Good Afternoon Everyone, Sorry we have not been on for awhile, but we have been quite busy since the planting season came to an end. Most of the cattle we have been killing have been in good condition, big weights 350kg up to 428kg dressed weight. Some of the paddocks are running short on grass and cattle are loosing weight, a lot of people are supplement feeding in the way of dry lick, lick blocks, copra, mfc and urea licks.... With only 8 more working weeks left to Christmas we are full on doing killers with a couple of them out of this district. If you require a weekend please ring up and book in as we only have 3 working weekend left. If you require a live spit pig for a Christmas function please message me or call on 0409347565 and I will pass on your details. Do not hesitate as the supply is short. Until next time, stay save Cheers :)

21.01.2022 Good morning everyone, Hope you all enjoyed your Easter break. Clive and I went out to visit Dale & Emily on a station in the Moranbah area, while we were there the weather was beautiful every day. It was wonderful to see that most of the country had received good rain which you could see in the condition of the cattle. (Will post some photos at a later date).... While we were on holidays, our booking side of the business did not stop, phone calls, emails and texts still came in, so PLEASE do not hesitate to book in. Please note we are no longer taking hides at this stage as they are worth nothing on the world market. Below is a email we received the other day from our hide rep. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Reports from Asia claim the entire leather industry is facing its largest challenge ever, as we now have a situation where not only shoe makers are moving away from leather, but we see a sizeable migration of automakers also moving away from leather. For the record, sources share that the largest shoe manufacturing group in China is indicating that only 1 out of every 10 pair of shoes for 2019 will contain leather. In addition, sources reporting that one-third of the shoe factories in the Wenzhou area will supposedly close their facilities the months of June & July in an effort to try and reduce costs this year. Overall, considering the situation surrounding the global market and the number of people looking to sell hides in volumes, many Asian tanners share that they are focusing their efforts on buying as many domestic hides as possible in the wet-blue, as this reducing the amount of risk tanners could be exposed to, by not importing salted hides from Australia/ USA / Europe. Meanwhile, automakers in Europe are reported to be laying off personnel, due to poorer than expected sales. In addition, with many automakers, especially some of the luxury brands) moving towards alternative replacement for leather in their vehicles, has certainly created a situation where a number of automotive tanners seeing some substantial reduction in requirements of leather. To summarise there is next to zero chance of our Queensland type hides having any value this year. How can it go any lower when already worth $0. Situation is so serious one cannot even recover the costs of local transport/salting, overseas shipping costs in the low counter bids from overseas customers . This is more relevant to any Australian hide off a carcass kg under 260 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We will post some photos of the hide pickups. Till next time stay safe, Cheers :)

19.01.2022 Hi everyone this is the photos of the first beast for the start of this year weighing in at 328kg

18.01.2022 Good Morning everyone, Due to the long wet season, we are running behind time, the clients we are doing at present would have normally been done late March early April. However, many of the paddocks are still wet and semi fat cattle are restricting our movements.... We are having a heavy run on weekend work with the next 4-5 weekends booked out, so if you require weekend bookings PLEASE give me a call, I will get to you but it will take sometime. As the paddocks starts to dry up our work load will increase, so please do not hesitate to contact us. Until next time, stay safe & dry. Cheers :)

17.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, I know this is a bit late, but how was everyone's Easter? Our Easter was quite busy, since we could not go anywhere we kept the business running, we had Good Friday off, then on Saturday & Sunday Clive done some servicing & maintenance on the equipment, as for Easter Monday, by sundown, we had 2 beast in Ingham & 1 beast in Townsville slaughter & in cold-rooms.... We have been very busy doing up to 4 beast a week, some families are filling up their freezer's by getting 2 beast done at the same time. We even had a client get some pigs & lambs done at the time he done his beast. Clive still has to go back to Townsville to slaughter & butcher two more beast. All though we are starting to catch up I would like to point out clients are trying to beat the pre season rush and booking in their killer. We would like to thank everyone for working in with us and following the social distance rule. At this stage we only allow one person in the work room with Clive at one time. At the end of the day, to prevent the spread on Covid-19 Clive is taking extra measure to make sure everything is sterilized. This year will be an Anzac Day like no other, this year like every year, no matter where you may be, you can find all your Anzac Day coverage on radios & tv's. So there is no reason not to acknowledge the sacrifices of our servicemen & women. Lest We Forget

16.01.2022 Good Afternoon everyone, here are the photos of the Christmas Goodies that Clive has made up. In the photos we have yummy Irish Pork Sausages (thick snags), Plain Pepper Sausages (thin snags) and some Cacciatore's (which are hanging up). Some of the Cacciatore's will be dried. Until next time, Stay Safe :)

16.01.2022 Hi all I am loving this beautiful weather we are having at this stage. Sorry we have not been on for awhile just been a bit busy with everything. Covid19 may have worked against some business, but for us, it has worked in our favor. ... Due to Covid19 there has been a shortage of some products, therefore people are taking control of their food supply, quality & pricing, by having a few head of cattle, pigs, chickens and veggie gardens. In my travels, I have noticed a lot of new cattle paddocks which has brought in some new clients. New clients have been telling us what they were spending on meat before they killed their own beast, here are some examples - 4 t bones $68.00, 4 rumps $75.00, a meal of rib fillet $44.00 and brisket (dog) bones $6.50kg. We had friends drop in on us a couple of weeks ago for a cuppa and the children were interested in looking and learning where their meat came from so we invited them up into the coldroom, as we were doing our own beef we got them - to trim bones, prepare off cuts for mince and sausages, making sausages and rolling roast. Photos will be posted later. Until next time, Stay safe. Cheers :) U

15.01.2022 Hello everyone, How is everyone enjoying this wet weather? I must admit while it is raining it has cooled down a bit and I like that part :) but when the sun comes out oh boy, it is hot. Even the cattle don't like the heat so keep your eyes on them and watch out for 3 day sickness. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business through out the year, we are now closed for 2018 and will re open up in mid January date to be confirmed. ... 10.01.2022 Good Afternoon everyone, Hope you enjoyed your Christmas break and Christmas Day. Did you start off the New Year with a bang or were you like Clive and I and went to bed early, and woke up early with no hangover, we have seen a New Year in for a long time maybe we need to change that in 2020.... We are now back at work with one beast killed under our belt and with tomorrow afternoon being the second one, fingers crossed the weather lets us. We do have quite a few beast booked in but the weather is not letting us get to them, so we are servicing the driest paddocks first. Let's hope we get a few killers done before the big wet comes in, so please book in as soon as you can as we are expecting that once the weather settles we are going to be full on. Please remember if you want any special sausage meals you must let us know in advance as we only keep a couple of flavours on hand, I will reboot the sausage meal list. Until next time, stay safe in what ever you are doing Cheers :)

09.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, Since we posted last, we have been full on butchering. We are hoping to have everyone serviced by our closing date which is Monday 16th December 2019.... Hope anyone wanting their beast slaughtered and butchered, has placed their booking, as you now will not get in, until next year. Please do not hesitate to ring and book in for 2020 as January is already booked out. We have been servicing the latest trend - fresh brisket for smoking, tomahawk steaks and ox cheeks. At one time ox cheeks were a throw away cut, now everyone seems to want them. (I wonder what will be the next trend in the cooking shows.) I have noticed lately, people are wanting rib bones, bbq steak and sausages to throw on the barbie as the bbq season is fast approaching. Until next time, Stay safe and cool. Cheers :)

07.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone, PLEASE NOTE:- The filliting knife that I am advertising at this moment IS NOT the same knife that I have sold in the past. The one before is a boning knife which we use for butchering, this one is for filleting fish which is not suitable for butchering beef. I just want everyone to understand they are two diffrent knives. If you would like a boneing knive please let me know as we can buy them in bulk and sell them at a good price for $36.00... I have sold one box already of the filleting knives and have started on the second box, which I have only 1 left to sell. Please let me know if you would still like a filleting knive. Until next time, Cheers :)

07.01.2022 Hello Everyone, We have finely finished for the year and what a year it has been, with very wet weather in the beginning and very hot and dry at the end. So we are looking forward to time off. With the weather being hot and humid it made slaughtering conditions difficult, but we got through it.... Most of the year cattle weights & condition were down. With the start of the year being so wet it put the butchering 4-6 weeks behind and I was still getting phone calls in early December to book in a killer before Christmas, I sadly had to say no to some people as I was total booked up. Which resulted in the most amount of carry over we have ever had, which is a good start for us in the new year. We are finding people are ringing us to get a killer done way to late we need at least 2-3 weeks notice to do a killer. Christmas is our busiest time of year, and we all know Christmas comes on the 25th of December. At this time of year we need at least 4-6 weeks notice if you are needing meat for Christmas. To our valued clients, we are going to get with the times and send out Christmas ecards next year instead of Christmas cards, could you please email me on [email protected] your email address. In the new year we will advise you of our opening date. Even though we are closed for business over Christmas & New Year, please do not hesitate to contact Clive on 0409347565 to book in a killer. Until next time, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. stay safe & cool, drive safely and don't drink to much :) Cheers. P.S. Photos to follow at a later time....

07.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, Hope you are enjoying this beautiful fine weather, hope it sticks around for awhile. We have been working really hard, since the weather has fined up. We have been pushing through up to 5 beast a week.... I might even be able to catch up now that the planting season is on and some of our clients are busy planting, however I would like our clients to know that weekend butchering is booked up until mid September, so if you require weekend butchering and you have not booked in please do so. If you can do your beast during the week please ring and book in because in 4-6 weeks a new wave will come in after the planting. We have come in contact with a local grazier who has some goats for sale, if you are interested please contact me on 0409347565 and I can pass on your name & number. Number are short so please ring asap. Until next time stay safe, Cheers :)

03.01.2022 Good Morning everyone, Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New year. We had a nice and quite one with family & friends. Clive went and had Christmas with Dale, Emily and our new born granddaughter Alice and other family members. While I spent it in Townsville with Chernece and some of her friends, my mum. At night time we spent it with some more friends. We have started work for 2020 and we are doing two beast a week which we are happy with due to the weather condition...s, it also has cleaned up the 2019 carry overs. Please take note there has been a price increase of .20cents per kg which this will take up the cost to $1.80 per kg. If you are wanting a beast butchered before the wet season sets in please book in, as we are now well into the flow for 2020 and have bookings already for February & March. I will try and get some photos up of the first kill for the year in the next couple of days. Until then stay safe & cool Cheers :)

02.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone, Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful morning. If you are thinking about ordering one of these filliting knives please let me know as soon as possible as I only have 3 more to sell. I have had enquiries and waiting for conformation, I can not promise a second box of 6 as this is a special, we do not carry them as we do not use them for butchering.... Thaning you stay safe Cheers :)
