23.01.2022 Riding for the Disabled Association of Australia. This morning, I spent some time with Christine Perry from Ingham RDA to better understand the services RDA... can provide to those living with ability limitations. Im working with her to lobby the State government to support the building of an RDA approved facility right here in Stone River for the benefit of those who would respond well to this type of therapy. Nick Dametto MP.
21.01.2022 Thank you to Mel Sorbello Photography for helping us out with our fundraiser. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. First prize framed canvas valued at $340. Money is going towards our council permits for required structures, so that we can then begin our centre. We will be around town selling tickets over the next couple of weeks, alternatively you can message me for tickets.

19.01.2022 True friendship is sitting together in silence and feeling like it was the best conversation youve ever had. Meet Jameson and Princess. 9 years ago now these 2 become friends and formed an unbreakable bond. This pony has been so therapeutically important for Jamesons development, hence our passion to share these benefits with others. Whilst our committee is dedicated behind the scenes to making this happen for our community, I will share photos with you of our personal journey over the years.
19.01.2022 What is epilepsy? Epilepsy is a tendency to have recurring seizures. There are many different types of seizures but they are always due to abnormal electrical a...ctivity somewhere in the brain. Many people will have one seizure at some stage in their lives, but this is not necessarily epilepsy because there is a low risk of recurrence. Many children with epilepsy will eventually ‘grow out of it’ by the time they reach adulthood. For some people, the tendency to recurrent seizures may be a lifelong predisposition. The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) classifies epilepsy as a disease of the brain that can be defined by the presence of any of the following conditions: At least two unprovoked (or reflex) seizures occurring more than 24 hours apart. One unprovoked (or reflex) seizure and a probability of further seizures similar to the general recurrence risk (at least 60%) after two unprovoked seizures, occurring over the next 10 years. Diagnosis of an epilepsy syndrome. Syndromes are identified by the type of seizure/s, the age at onset, the EEG pattern and the pattern the seizures follow. They are sometimes associated with other underlying conditions. Identifying a seizure syndrome may be useful as sometimes this allows the most appropriate medication to be prescribed.

11.01.2022 Attention parents /caregivers of children with special needs. Please read this. Early childhood interactions with horses really do make a difference. As a special needs parent myself I speak honestly here - my son was diagnosed with CP at 2, he could not walk, no one could tell us if he would talk, he had very low muscle tone. Fast forward to today, he runs, he talks, hes very social, shows compassion for animals, he enjoys being independent. His pony has helped with all of this. Physical, social, developmental, psychological. So many benefits all credited to the pony. Riding for Disabled Programs are also aimed at helping children. Please ensure you contact our centre for a free meeting. We will take self managed and plan managed NDIS.
