20.01.2022 The next round of vet visits to Kings Canyon region homelands for the Animal Control Program are happening on Thursday and Friday, 18-19 February. For Alice Springs region homelands (north/ south/ Iwupataka), the next vet visit will happen from 8-11 March. The vets can desex dogs/cats, put down sick/unwanted dogs/cats and treat dogs/cats for mange/ticks/worms. The program doesn’t cover other surgery, immunisations or grooming. Unfortunately, we can’t arrange a specific day o...r time for the vets to visit your homeland, but please organise for someone to be home on the dates above if you want the vet to attend to your pet. Owners or family members will need to be at home to give permission for their pets to be treated. If you have any questions, please call us on 8950 2200. Note: A disease called Ehrlichiosis is being spread to dogs by ticks in the NT. It is important to keep ticks off your dogs and to seek treatment if your dog has been bitten by ticks and is unwell. Check out this great animated video by AMRRIC for more information.
16.01.2022 Thanks so much to Dr Emily Bull! She has done such great work helping with our animal program. Much appreciated by both Ingkerreke staff and homelands’ residents. She will be missed!
13.01.2022 Illegal dumping of rubbish can pose a danger to children, spread disease, lead to an increase in fire threat, increase accident risk, contaminate soil and water, and affect wildlife in their habitat. We are asking all homelands residents to help reduce illegal dumping by reporting it when they see it. As residents who travel throughout your lands regularly, you are most likely to notice dumping early, when it is easiest to fix. Thanks to everyone who is helping to take care of our environment!
