23.01.2022 We lived on Lawson Road, in the Ingleburn family camp. What street did you live on ?We lived on Lawson Road, in the Ingleburn family camp. What street did you live on ?

23.01.2022 Glad to see people are actually connecting here, maybe finding some lost friends, and sharing memories. Just talking to Charlene Carpenter about organising a reunion (maybe at Bardia Precinct with the help of the NSW Nashos) before the whole Camp gets buried under McMansions. Could we maybe get a headcount on interest to see if it's a goer? Please share the idea with those you know and 'Like' if you would attend. Cheers, Lisa McInally Cosgrove.

22.01.2022 We should see if we can arrange a reunion at the Bardia Precinct - the little that is left of our old home. Anyone interested? Name tags would be mandatory as no doubt we've all changed a bit :)

20.01.2022 Watching the camp disappear beneath new housing estates and wondering if any of the many new residents will appreciate the significance of their new home. I doubt it. I would like to push to have a memorial placed somewhere in the old camp grounds to forever commemorate the brave service of the many Army personnel who passed through there.

20.01.2022 Just found out that Ingleburn Army Camp's 75th Anniversary will be celebrated this Sunday between 10am and 2pm at Bardia Precinct (old Bardia Barracks site). It will be a rare opportunity to visit the Precinct (the only remnant of our former home) so I would encourage anyone who can attend to do so. See the link to the story in the Macarthur Chronicle below for more details. Cheers Family :)

18.01.2022 Attended the 75th Anniversary at Bardia Precinct with my big sister Jenny today - the Camp was home to both of us in the Sixties. Not sure who else may have been there that we knew - we have all changed over the years - name tags should be a must for all at future gatherings :) We both cried as the Last Post was sounded - so proud of all our Australian soldiers who have served over the years, and continue to serve, and all those who have given their lives in service to our co...untry. As we gathered in remembrance I hoped that the spirits of all who served there who have passed were with us, knowing that we were gathered in their honour. RIP John Andrews, a Scotsman and my father's best friend, who served in Malaya and also with the AATTV and who died in Vietnam. RIP Hugh McInally, my Scottish father who was so proud to serve as a soldier for Australia in Korea, Malaya and Vietnam and who died in 2005. RIP Ray Davies, my Welsh stepfather, who served in the AATTV with pride and distinction (with a bounty on his head...) during two tours in Vietnam and who died in 1980. God Bless all our soldiers, past and present, who have embodied the honour, fine service and mateship that has made Australian soldiers renowned in all theatres of war. You are our heroes. See more

17.01.2022 Just spoke to Ron Brown at the Nashos. He said they would assist us if we do want to have a reunion at Bardia Precinct - is there enough interest in this to make it happen? What do you all think?

15.01.2022 So glad people are finding this page and engaging and connecting :) Love and regards to all the Ingleburn Army Camp family. Cheers, Lisa McInally Cosgrove

14.01.2022 People are asking about a website? We don't have one - as yet - as I mentioned, I am no web wizard and barely manage this page - just started it as a connection point for all of us who knew and loved the Camp. If anyone wants to step in and make this better for everyone, please do :) Cheers, Lisa

14.01.2022 CONFIRMATION: All friends from Ingleburn Army Camp - there is an open day on this Sunday at Bardia Precinct at the camp from 10am to 4pm (may close earlier if not many people) with rotary doing sausage sizzle :) Anyone up for a trip down memory lane????

12.01.2022 I was very happy to check out Graham Naylors website tonight and spy a pic with my dad in it. Heres the link to a website on Bardia Barracks by Graham. http://hammersites.net/bardiabarracks/

11.01.2022 So glad to meet Kerrin Bassett and catch up with Andrew Trump at the Bardia Precinct yesterday. So glad to know this small and precious part of or old home - all that is left - will be protected and preserved - Heritage Listed now :) Massive housing development about to swamp our old stomping grounds but Parks & Wildlife will also maintain 4 areas of bushland (156ha I think) so all that it was will not be ploughed under and built over. Sacred ground - bless all those who served and all families who called it home XXX

11.01.2022 Again...people have been asking about a website...does anyone out there want to create one? Cheers, Lisa

10.01.2022 Open day definitely on 8th March 2015 - thanks Lesley Morgan :) This Saturday - will anyone make it? Everyone who can - please try!

10.01.2022 Remember how we had the best Cracker Night bonfires? I think the Army engineers set it up - what else could you expect:) Dark nights with huge flaming pyres and smoke everywhere and that wonderful smell of firecrackers. I also remember placing bungers under a metal garbage can lid propped up on a brick and watching it fly up in the air with a very satisfying and tremendous bang. Anyone have a memory to share?

09.01.2022 Lesley Morgan posted this in December: "For those interested....Heard yesterday from a member of the Ingleburn Camp Historical group there is to be an Open day on 8th March 2015...the museum members there are organising the day.."Will check this out and let everyone know...what a great opportunity to catch up :)

09.01.2022 My father Hugh McInally was the reason I came to call Ingleburn Army Camp my home. He joined the Australian Army in Glasgow, looking for a better future, and found it here. He was a fine soldier and a man who loved Australia deeply and now rests in the soil of this country he loved so much and fought for with such skill and pride.

08.01.2022 Living in Ingleburn Army Camp as a child during the sixties was a wonderful experience. It was a thriving, vibrant community with 3 churches, Ingleburn North Primary School, Bambi Preschool, the Family Store (remember getting big bags of mixed lollies for 10 cents anyone?), the Chowne Club, 2 Mil Hospital and the theatre where we saw movies and held school plays. It was a unique community where everyone had a common bond - we were Army and that was something special to be pr...oud of. It still is. Our fathers were fine soldiers, many of whom served in Vietnam. Well trained Aussie soldiers were everywhere and that made us feel secure. It created a special place that civilians never had the honour to experience. Perhaps many of them looked at us as transients because we could be posted away at any time, but on the inside, where we were, it was marvellous. As a child it really was like having a huge family. We all knew each other (for our parents, maybe everything was known too well among too many people...). You could walk out the door at any time and find a horde of friends you knew to play with. And what a playground we had! Acres of bushland to explore, trees to climb, ration packs to raid for bush picnics, creeks to play in, a great playground with all sorts of equipment to congregate at and muck around with. Remember the maypole anyone? There are so many stories to tell and memories to share. Please share them here so we can keep this special place alive in all our minds and hearts. Cheers, lisa McInally Cosgrove.

05.01.2022 I am glad people are finding this page and through it, each other - apologies that it doesn't do more but if it brings us all together in any way and encourages those connections and leads to more contact, then it has done its job. Cheers, Lisa

05.01.2022 Dear Family, new image for the page...there is a large stone with a plaque commemorating those from the Camp who served...it is situated in the centre of Ingleburn A small tribute to the many who gave so much for our country God bless them all and also you, their families, who shared in their service and sacrifice
