22.01.2022 Take care and check your surroundings when leaving and entering driveways of homes with young children. Children move quickly and often without warning. Make s...ure you: Always watch your children near vehicles. Discourage children from using the driveway as a play area. Where possible, prevent children from entering the garage and driveway from the house - consider using self-closing doors, fencing and gates. Be aware that every vehicle has a large blind spot. Always walk around your car and check before moving it. If you don't know, don't go - driveway runnovers are preventable. For more information on driveway safety, visit our friends at Kidsafe SA: www.kidsafesa.com.au/road-safety/driveway-safety/

15.01.2022 Antimicrobial resistance is when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change to become resistant to medications. Resistance to antibiotic, antiviral, antifung...al, and antiparasitic medication is a growing problem in treating infections, and is often due to: Misuse: not taking prescribed medications as directed by your doctor Overuse: taking them when you don’t need to take them at all. Antimicrobial resistance not only affects humans, but also animals and the environment. If this keeps happening, some infections may become impossible to treat and there is an increased risk of severe illnesses and death. It is important to use these medications properly, and only when they are required and prescribed by a doctor. Never self-medicate with antibiotics if you are unwell, or take antibiotics that are not prescribed for you. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, get tested as soon as possible.
