16.01.2022 This photo taken at the Recreation ground during 1950's of my grandmother Dulcie Webb (Goltz), G G/m Eva Goltz (Grey) Ivy Webb (Goltz) with I think a young Michelle Webb. Would anyone know the lady and child on right ? Also regarding the Lost Tarnagulla page, it is becoming non essential, if I took my personal posts and page posts away there would not be much left, seriously thinking of leaving the page to someone else. FB also are a pain in the butt, it is supposed to be a historical information page, they continually interfere attempting to turn it into some sort of business enterprize. Will perservere for awhile to see if interest picks up, if not I will revert to just plain old Kenneth Webb and only comment accordingly.

15.01.2022 21st March 1912 Pyramid Hill Race incident ... On this day in 1912 an unregistered race meeting was held at Pyramid Hill. The weather was fine and warm. The attendance was only moderate. An unfortunate accident happened during the progress of the Pony Race. The placed ponies had just passed the winning post when one of the seven runners crashed into the primitive structure used as the judge’s box, and razed it to the ground. The occupants escaping unhurt with only a severe shaking, also the Pony and the rider were hurt. Several of the spectators, however, were not so fortunate, as besides a number who sustained minor abrasions, three wore rather seriously hurt, Mr. J. McCready received a broken jaw, Mr. Michael Stritch a broken rib, and Mr. Phil an injury to the knee.

07.01.2022 1896 Fire at the Pelican Hotel, Brooke Street Inglewood caused accidentally by girl with candle. As water was very scarce in Inglewood it was turned off during periods of the day. The messengers from the fire brigade were sent to the Reservoir to cart water to the fire as they struggled to contain the fire once water was turned back on. Lamont solicitors and other businesses between the Pelican and the RSL were destroyed, but luckily were well insured in those days, using the Great Fire in 1862 as a warning to insure properties, which became big businesses in town with several insurance agents.
