25.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came and supported Pink Stumps Day on Saturday! It's always great to start the season off with a win! Inglewood finished 3/86, defeating Kingower 55. Top scorers: Mal McLean with 39 runs, and Rhys Roberts with 4 wickets. Read the full results: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx... Next week we face Wedderburn at their grounds. Go Blues!

25.01.2022 Unfortunately we couldn't get a side together last week, so we had to forfeit against Kingower. Tomorrow however, we will be playing Wedderburn at Wedderburn (not at home due to the ground change earlier in the season). Go Blues!

24.01.2022 Here's a great bit of Inglewood cricket history that's being kept alive, with thanks to Upper Loddon Cricket Association (ULCA) page https://www.facebook.com/groups/223873817773469/ ULCA have also shared the score sheet and newspaper articles from the days surrounding play. In the articles you will be interested to read how 25 locals pledged 5 each (equaling almost $10k in today's money) to bring the Australian side to town. Players arrived by train from Sandhurst (Bendigo) ...and were taken by Cob&Co (horse and cart) to the Royal Hotel, where two tables laden with fruit welcomed their arrival, along with ladies which were more loved than the game! It cost 1 shilling to attend (about $4) but the ladies could pay 2 shillings and 6 pence (about $10) to be under the cover of the grandstand. It costs nothing to come and watch us play now, so please continue to support country cricket how and when you can. Go Blues!

24.01.2022 Welcome to the 2018/2019 cricket season and with it, a brand-new club page. Please encourage all those who may be interested to like this page, to be kept up-to-date with club news and information. Our A.G.M was held a few weeks ago and I, Tony Noonan, have been appointed as President, Tim Birthisel Vice President, Dave Smyth Secretary and Ben Power Treasurer. We also are pleased to have a number of new faces join us both on the field and behind the scenes. Good numbers have ...been turning out to training and from now on it will be held Thursday nights at 5.30pm. With daylight savings kicking off this weekend, it will really feel like cricket season has begun! Our first fame is this Saturday against Bridgewater at Bridgewater, but I’m still waiting to hear if the game could be changed to be played at Inglewood. After coming close to a grand final appearance last year, I hope players and supporters are excited for another great year ahead. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank everyone, including our hard-working volunteers and sponsors and say - GO Blues! - Tony

23.01.2022 Just 3 days to go to our Australia Day fundraising event and almost 3/4 of tickets have sold See our event page for more details and contact us if you're unsure how to purchase.

23.01.2022 Based on calculations, we should win a finals game every 7 years. Having missed the last, the next should be 2018-19. Now that's something to aim for!

22.01.2022 Scores at lunch

22.01.2022 Yesterday we played Kingower at home. We won the toss and chose to bat. Jack made 24 runs, Robbie 23 and Joe 12, ending our innings 8/97. As the day wore on, the clouds and thunder rolled in but we only had a single burst of rain. In the bowling, Jack and Rhys took 2 wickets and Rob 1, but unfortunately we fell 17 runs short and Kingower finished 5/114. ... The game was also the decider of the annual Gilmore Cup, so congratulations Kingower! We're still fifth on the ladder and next week is our second last game, against Wedderburn at Wedderburn. Go Blues!

22.01.2022 Round 12 update - the first of our two-day games. On Saturday we played Boort at home. The new heat rule came into effect just prior to the weekend. With the mercury set to tip 39, many hoped it would tick over to 40 and cease play, but we weren't so lucky. We did however win the toss and elected to bat, giving us some relief from the heat. The same couldn't be said for the Boort boys who did well despite the sweltering conditions.... While we found ourselves a few players short, we were able to make a team with thanks to a number of people including Luke Peters, who played his first game for the season and league. A number of supporters also braved the warm weather, which gave the players a needed boost. Our batting was a good team effort: at drinks we were 1/54, 3/133 at arvo tea, ending the day on 10/229, getting through 55.3 of our 70 overs. Rob Stranger made 45, Ben Power 36, Darcy Coppin 26 and Rhys Roberts 24. This week is looking to be 10 degrees cooler, so supporters come along to another home game and cheer the fellas home. Go Blues!

21.01.2022 Round six update is brought to you by Chris Power Building & Concreting (http://chrispower.com.au/index.html), who can help with your indoor and outdoor needs, from bathrooms to pagolas and driveways to house slabs. ____________________________________________ We'll rip the bandaid off and let you know that we narrowly lost our game this week, but before we get into the details, we would like to flashback to this time last year. ... One year ago, we were celebrating our first win in 12 months. What a difference a year can make! We have won five from six games and are now second on the ladder, only due to percentage difference. While we may have a different side each week, we are working better as a team, and this year could just very well be our year! This week we faced Kingower, in what we knew would be a challenging contest. It was a lovely warm day and the kookaburras sang in the old gumtrees. Kingower won the toss and elected to bowl. At drinks we were 1/59. It was a team effort with the batting. Nathan Johns made 43, Glen 'stir the pot' Peters 42, Rob Stranger 33 not out and Ben Power 32. We finished the innings on 5/165. When it came our turn to bowl Rob 'danger' Stranger took 1/22 in six overs, Jarrod 'hire a crowd' Starr also took 1/49 in seven overs, and Dave Smyth took 1/30 in seven overs. At drinks Gower were five runs more (1/66) than we were at the same point. Gower's umpire forgot which team he was playing for at one stage and almost caught one, which would have helped us out. The game came down to the wire, with Gower needing six runs to win in the last over. Unfortunately for us they made it, ending the innings at 3/178. Next week, we are playing Wedderburn (at a change of venue) at Wedderburn. Go Blues!

21.01.2022 So last weekend we played Wedderburn. They won the toss and we batted first. Joe Power opened and made 30 runs, Rhys Roberts 40 and Rob Stranger 34 runs, ending our innings 8/163. In the bowling Jack McHale and Ben Power took 2 wickets a piece and Wedderburn ended their innings 4/138.... It was a much needed win and hopefully we can keep the momentum going. This Saturday we play Bridgewater at Bridgy. Go Blues!

21.01.2022 Arnold were in very fine form on Saturday and showed that they are serious contenders to take the premiership again this year. Needless to say that with this kind of intro, we lost the game. For the cricket fanatics, we're happy to share the results... Arnold won the toss and batted first, ending their innings for 4/281. Ben, Dave, Rob and Tony were the wicket takers.... Our innings was cut too short and we were all out for 87. Nathan made 30 runs, Ash 19 and Rob 15. Hopefully we take some learnings into this week's game at home against Serpentine - as always, the bar is open and spectators are welcome! It's not all doom and gloom however because we are very much looking forward to celebrating Australia Day with you this Sunday! Tickets are selling fast and there's only 100, so don't delay. For details: https://facebook.com/events/s/inglewood-sports-centre-5000-d/593814728059393/?ti=cl

21.01.2022 On Saturday we faced Serpentine, won the toss and decided to bat. Rob top scored with 49 runs not out, ending the innings on 6/129. In the bowling Dave Smyth took two wickets, and Jack and Mal McClean took one each. There was also a runout and a retiree, so Serp ended on 6/170 and won the match. This weekend we face Boort-Yando at home. The bar will be open and spectators are always welcome. For dinner, slow cooked roast and gravy rolls will be available for purchase ... Go Blues!

20.01.2022 Still wondering what to do next Saturday for Australia Day? Why not get dressed in pink and watch a game of cricket to help raise money for breast cancer! We will have face painting for the kids, showbags for a gold coin donation, yabby races, a spinning wheel with fantastic prizes and a BBQ dinner. All funds raised will go to the McGrath Foundation.... The bar will also be open, so bring your family, bring your mates, and enjoy a great day out!

20.01.2022 Call for players! This week we are finding ourselves a player short. This isn't the first week that we've found it hard to make a side. We understand that work and personal commitments sometimes take precedence over sport however, we want to keep the club alive for younger generations to come. We also don't want to loose momentum by forfeiting games, particularly when we're on top of the ladder. ... If you or someone you know is interested, or could be interested in playing a game of country cricket, please share this post and inbox us. We are a family friendly club, who love our cricket and welcome everyone with a smile.

19.01.2022 Last weekend was a washout, with some locals receiving 18mm of rain. That meant that all teams drew. The weather looks to be more kind this Saturday - partly cloudy and 17 degrees - with a home game against Arnold, starting at 1.30pm. Supporters are always welcome. Go Blues!

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Emily Leach who got the closest guess

19.01.2022 Round three update is sponsored by Tim Miller Electrical (http://www.timmillerelectrical.com.au/), who can handle any sized job across regional Victoria. ____________________________________________ Rain cleared mid-morning but the wind remained, creating both challenge and opportunity. Inglewood won the toss and elected to bowl, in what was a semi final rematch against Arnold. ... Bob brusier Stranger took 2 wickets for 22 runs off 7 overs, including a maiden. Dangas Harrison also took 2 for 18 off 3 overs. Gabe Nevins and Tony Noonan finished the bowling strong, with no runs made inbetween the final 3 wickets. Gabe took 1 for 3 off 2 overs and Noons 2 for 6 off 2 overs, including coming close to a hatrick. Arnold finished for 8/138. Leigh Lamprell played his first game of cricket for awhile, not that you would know. Lee opened the batting and fought for an hour long slog. Skippy stopped by for a squizz and although the first wicket was taken after 8 runs, it was another 65 until the next. Glen chatterbox Peters and Rob also batted for an hour each, with Glen top scoring: making 41 and Rob 39. Inglewood declared, finishing 8/144 and are now first on the ladder. Thanks to those who helped fill our side, including Cameron Martin. It was great to have a win with a number of new players, who we hope to see again. Next week we face Serpentine at home and as always, spectators are welcome. Go Blues!

19.01.2022 Round 11 update is there's no update, as the entire league was washed out. The Club would like to wish all players and their families, sponsers and supporters, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Play resumes on the 12th January, with our first two-day game against Boort at home.... Go Blues!

19.01.2022 Round four update is with thanks to local sponsor Champions IGA & Mitre 10 Inglewood, who provide a supermarket, newsagency and hardware store all under one roof. ____________________________________________ The weather was kind to us this week. Serpentine won the toss and bowled. At drinks we were 0 for 79, with our first wicket taken 10 runs in at 89. ... Rhys 'century' Roberts stayed in for almost the full innings. He was glad to hit a four when sitting on 97 to make 101, because he wasn't so lucky with the next ball. Reece hit ten 4's, six 6's and a couple of cars (oops!). Nathan Johns also made 27 for the team and Inglewood finished on 5/180. When it came our turn to bowl, we took three wickets in close proximity - the 1st at 39, 2nd at 42 and 3rd at 59. Rhys still had the energy to take 3 wickets off 7 overs for 28 runs. Tony 'two wickets' Noonan took another 2 wickets this week, off 5 overs for 24 runs. Serpentine fought well, needing only 20 runs on the last over, finishing their day on 7/165. Inglewood won in what was Rhys' Day Out and enjoyed ending the day with a family BBQ dinner. Next week we face Boort-Yando in Boort. Go Blues!

18.01.2022 What a fantastic and successful day we've had! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our Pink Stumps Day

17.01.2022 A huge thank you to the local business Bridgewater Bakehouse, Bridgewater Hotel - On The Loddon River, Steve's Empire State Hotel, Both Banks Vineyard Kingower, Champions IGA & Mitre 10 Inglewood and MGM Hair Studio, as well as Julie Donald, who have donated fantastic prizes for our Pink Stumps Day fundraising spinning wheel

17.01.2022 Where do the weeks go? We now have two updates for you! So last week we had a win over Wedderburn 6/170 Vs 9/112. New Blues recruit Jack McHale took 3 wickets and Rhys Roberts the same, while Nathan Johns smashed 76 runs not out. This week the luck ran dry with a loss to Bridgewater 8/106 Vs 9/82. Jack however took another 3 wickets, while Rhys topped the batting scores with 19 runs.... Next week we face Newbridge at Newbridge. Go Blues!

16.01.2022 Do you like the sound of no cooking and no dishes? Join us this Saturday for roast rolls, salad and drinks after the game. 15.01.2022 Round 13, day 1 update So now that we've all recovered from our Pink Stumps Day match, it's time to let you know how we went! Kingower won the toss and elected to bat. We got our first wicket 5 overs in, another in the 10th, 13th and 14th overs, ending drinks in the great position of 4 wickets and Kingower with 33 runs. ... Between the 17th and 36th overs we took another 2 wickets for a total of 93 runs before the arvo tea break. The third stint was the hardest, with no wickets taken. Kingower ended drinks at 168 runs. In the last 14.4 overs we took 4 wickets, including two in the 67th over, getting Kingower all out for 238 runs. Our bowlers were: Rhys Roberts who bowled 12 overs for 3 wickets, including 1 maiden for 58 runs. Dave Smyth who bowled 15 overs for 2 wickets and 54 runs. Ben Power who bowled 11 overs for 1 wicket, including a maiden for 21 runs. Mal McLean who bowled 6 overs for 1 wicket and 30 runs. Rob Stranger who bowled 4 overs for 1 wicket and 18 runs. Tony Noonan who bowled 1.4 overs for 1 wicket and 4 runs. And while these fellas didn't take any wickets, they did a great job at keeping the run rate down: Dary Coppin 14 overs, 5 maidens for 29 runs and Glen Peters 7 overs for 14 runs. Surpassing 238 this week is certainly achievable, but we need to bring our A game. It would be great to see family, friends and supporters come down and get behind the boys for another home game. Go Blues!

14.01.2022 Inglewood have just taken their first wicket! Pink Stumps Day festivities will take place later this afternoon, which includes yabby races, spinning wheel and a roast roll dinner. The face painter will be here from 2:30-4:30pm, showbags and guess how many lollies in the jar competition will also be available for the little ones.... It's free to come along and watch, and the bar is open. Go Blues!

14.01.2022 Round two update brought to you by local business and sponsor 'Just Trees'. For all your tree lopping needs call Nathan on 0438 354 608. _____________________________________________ A black horizon looked to threaten play yesterday however, blue sky greeted us at game time.... Inglewood chose to bowl first and got off to a slow start against Newbridge. The first wicket was taken at 56 runs. Darcy Coppin gave the Newy boys a 'Coppin', bowling 3/23 off 7 overs, including a maiden. Newbridge finished their innings at 4/146. The day got interesting when the Inglewood Football Club crew stopped by. We had our very own bay 13, with Luigi, Mario, a hippy and a unicorn amongst the rowdy but cheerful crowd. We had Nathan 'not out' Johns open the batting and remain in all day at 59 not out. A rare as hen's teeth 'five' was awarded and helped to bump our run rate to 5.2 an over, after 10 overs. Mighty Mal Maclean showed yet again, that he should remain playing cricket, making 21 not out. Inglewood won the game at 3/165. Next week we will face Arnold at Arnold, in what will be a challenging game. Go Blues!

14.01.2022 Round seven update is sponsored by local transport company Cohalan. For all your trucking needs call Chris on 0428507220. ____________________________________________ This week we faced Wedderburn at Wedderburn. We won the toss and elected to bowl. Wedderburn had a good start and at drinks they were none for 60 runs. ... It wasn't until the 23rd over (91 runs) that we took the first wicket. From there the wheaties kicked in and we got them all out for 134, with eight balls remaining. All of the Wedderburn team were bowled, except for one catch. Darcy 'cop that' Coppin is chasing the league wickets, currently sitting 3rd out of 115 players. Dar took 4/20 off 7 overs, including two maidens. Reece 'send off' Roberts made a hatrick and ran off celebrating, leaving his team mates to chase him down for high fives. Reece took 3/19 off 6.4 overs, including one maiden and is also ranked high in the league at 12th position. Mal McLean took 1/7 off one over and Tony 'two for' Noonan took 2/3 off one over and is ranked 18th in the league (two after Rob Stranger). When it came our turn to bat, our opening batsmen were taken out four runs in. At drinks we were four wickets down for 72 runs. Glen Peters top scored, hitting eight fours for 44 runs. Rob made 32 and Mal made 18. We ended the day on 8/142 and won the game by eight runs. We are now half way through the season and start to face each team again. Next week we play Bridgewater at home and as always, the bar is open and spectators are welcome. Go Blues!

14.01.2022 Round eight update is with thanks to local sponsor F P Nevins & Co real estate and auctioneers (www.fpnevins.com.au), who can help you to buy or sell your next home, grow or reduce your livestock and fill or clear your property of antiques and machinery. ____________________________________________ This week we faced Bridgewater at home. We won the toss and elected to bowl. Our bowling is becoming our strength, with a good team effort all round.... Ben Power took 2/11 off 7 overs, including 2 maidens. Rob Stranger also took 2/11 off 5 overs. Jarrod Star took 1/12 off 7 overs, including 3 maidens. Darcy Coppin 1/18 off 6 overs, including 2 maidens. Tony Noonan 1/13 off 2 overs. At drinks Bridgewater were 3/29 and finished their innings at 7/96. Nathan Johns retired after 1.5hrs and 55 runs, and is only 3 runs away from being 2nd on the league's batting ladder. The rest of the team made an even spread of scores, helping us to finish our innings at 6/154, win the game and remain 2nd on the ladder. The night ended with delicious roast rolls and the best (Maggi) gravy, lovingly prepared by Kristy Noonan. The rolls helped to keep us warm.... for a minute... as the winter like winds swept over the oval and into the club rooms. Next week we face Newbridge at Newbridge. Go Blues!

14.01.2022 The boys are feeling fresh after a break and are ready to take on Arnold this weekend in the semi finals! Sponsers, supporters, family and friends - pull out your navy blues and come along to cheer the boys home. Last year was so close with only 7 runs the difference, but this year is our year and we will be the difference!... The game is at Arnold both Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am - 5.30pm. See you there! Go Blues!

14.01.2022 Did you know that our Club is running a juniors cricket program? Boys and girls aged 5-8 years old, can come along to make new friends and learn how to play cricket. A $75 joining fee includes a personalised shirt, bucket hat, plastic cricket bat, rubber ball, stickers and scoresheet.... This Sunday will be our second session but it's not too late to register, as it continues until 3 February 2019. Leigh Lamprell is helping to run the program each Sunday from 10.30am (however this week it's 10am) for one hour. For details on how to register, visit: https://playcricket.com.au/club-finder/club-details

13.01.2022 Round one has come and gone, and a good win has us placed at the top of the ladder. Nath Johns (56) batted well early and put us in a great position at drinks at 2/68. Mighty Mal McLean (64 not out) finished our innings, at a very respectable 8/175. The young boys from Bridgy battled hard all day and were 2/41 at drinks. ... With the sun going down and the threat of bad light coming into play, the Inglewood boys kept the pressure on, dismissing our old rivals for 99. Dave Smyth 4/36 and Rob the Boss Stranger 2/22 were the pick of the bowlers. Special mention goes to Diamond Joe Power, for a top fielding effort. We would also like to thank Don Brown for 'donning' the whites and filling in for the day. We can't get ahead of ourselves just yet, as we face tougher competition in the coming weeks, but we will continue to train as hard as we play ;) Go Blues!

11.01.2022 Day 1 semi finals update. Having won the toss and with a bubba (Nathan) Johnsy on the way, we elected to bowl. At lunch we were 0/110. Rob Stranger took the first wicket in the 47th over, Rhys Roberts took the next at 54 overs in, Dave Smyth the 3rd and 4th wickets at 55 and 57 overs, Rhys the 5th in the 84th and Glen Peters the 6th and final wicket in the 90th over, ending days play at 6/484.... Jarrod commented that his fitbit said he had ran 15kms, and Cam Martin probably ran more with his top fielding effort. While we have a lot of runs to chase tomorrow, it aint over until it's over! So supporters come along because we need your backing more than ever. See you 10.30am - 5.30pm at Arnold. A special thanks goes out to Gabe Nevins for helping out and Chris Nevins for scoring today.

10.01.2022 Last round resulted in a draw and saw us move to fifth spot on the ladder. We bowled first and Rhys and Rob took 3 wickets, Jack 2, Ash Austin and Dave Smyth 1 a piece, ending Bridgewater's innings for 10/119. In the batting, Rhys and Rob continued to be a dynamic duo with 49 and 27 runs respectively, and young Cam Martin made 10 runs, ending our innings for 9/119.... As we now don't return until the 11th January (when we face Newbridge at home) we would like to take this opportunity to wish our players, sponsors, supporters and families a very Merry Christmas!

10.01.2022 Oh dear! Is this the easiest wicket ever taken? https://mobile.abc.net.au//azhar-ali-involved-in/10393502

10.01.2022 Results from Saturday... We played Newbridge at home. They won the toss and batted, making 3/175. Jake, Dave and Tony took one wicket each. Unfortunately we didn't get the runs and were all out for 99. Mal made 20, Rob 16 and Rhys and Nathan 12.... Next week we head to Arnold. With two weeks out from Australia Day - don't forget to purchase tickets to our fundraiser, which gives you the chance to win the major $4,000 prize, while also helping to concrete the sports shed

10.01.2022 So last week, we won the toss and elected to bowl against Boort-Yando. Ben, Dave and Jack took two wickets each and Rhys took one, ending Boort's innings 7/145. In the batting Rhys made a half-century, Ash 36 runs (not out) and Nathan 19 runs, ending our innings on a very close 6/150.... Saturday we will face Kingower at home. Go Blues!

10.01.2022 We would like to wish both junior teams the best of luck this weekend and in particular Cam Martin, who has played a number of games for the Blues this season. Go Cam!

09.01.2022 Round 12, day 1 update Saturday, we faced Boort/Yando in the second day of our first two-day games. Picking up where we left off the week before, Boort went into bat.... Dave Smyth bowled 4.3 overs for 3 wickets and 11 runs. Ben Power (pictured bowling) bowled 9 overs for 2 wickets and 16 runs, including 3 maidens. Darcy Roberts bowled 5 overs for 2 wickets and 9 runs, including 1 maiden. Rhys Roberts bowled 9 overs for 26 runs, including 1 maiden. We got Boort all out for 63 runs off 27.4 overs. With play ending ahead of time we decided to play again to try and achieve an outright and improve our percentage. In the second innings, Dave bowled 6.2 overs for 4 wickets and 11 runs, including 3 maidens. Darcy 9 overs for 2 wickets, 9 runs, including 5 maidens. Ben 6 overs for 1 wicket, 10 runs, including 2 maidens. Nathan Johns bowled 2 overs, took 1 wicket for 9 runs, including 2 maidens. We got Boort all out again for 62 runs off 32.2 overs and won outright. This did help our percentage and changed our positioning from third to second on the ladder. While it's always a team effort, special mention goes to Dave, who took a total of 7 wickets in just over 10 overs for only 22 runs. This achievement has seen Dave also move on the overall player ladder 20 spots to 10th, well done Dave! This week we face Kingower at home in our special Pink Stumps Day match. For more information and to RSVP, see the 'events' tab for details. See you in pink this Saturday. Go Blues! Photo credit: Luke West

09.01.2022 Round nine update is with thanks to our sponsor Steve's Empire State Hotel, where you can enjoy a drink, good feed and laugh with the locals. ____________________________________________ This week we faced Newbridge at Newbridge. A warm and windy day hindered, rather than helped play but made the temperature bearable. We lost the toss and went into bat.... Darcy Coppin top scored making 34 runs. Rob Stranger made 25, Rhys Roberts 16, Tony Noonan 18 not out and Joe Power was also not out for 11. At drinks we were 2/59, ending the innings on 7/153. As we didn't make as many runs as we would have liked, we knew that we would have our work cut out for us when it came our turn to bowl. Rhys took 1 wicket off 7 overs for 41 runs, Jarrod Starr 1 wicket off 7 overs for 20 runs, Dave Smyth 1 wicket off 7 overs for 28 runs and it was great to see Gabe Nevins also take 1 wicket off 2 overs for 12 runs. At drinks Newbridge were 2/77, 18 ahead of us at the same point. In the last few overs it really came down to the wire, with Newbridge needing a run every ball. Unfortunately we were a fieldsman down for the last 35 minutes, which didn't help gaurd the gaps. The newy boys got there, ending their innings for 4/160, just 7 runs ahead of us. While we lost the game, it was exciting for spectators to watch, with both sides cheering the teams on. We remain 2nd on the ladder with a tough contest next week, when we face Arnold at home. It will be another warm day but the beers will be cold, so supporters come on down to help get the boys across the line. Go Blues!

09.01.2022 We finished the weekend with a win, mainly due to our strong bowling. Collectively we made 11 maidens and got Boort all out for 52 runs. Rob took 4 wickets, Jack 3, Emily Leech, Johnsy and Ben Power all took one a piece. In the batting Ben top scored with 26 runs not out (the boys are pictured fetching the ball from one of his sixes), Ash Austin made 13 not out and Rob 17. We declared the game at 74 runs in and 4 wickets down. Next week, we start the playing cycle again and face Kingower at their grounds. Go Blues!

08.01.2022 Day 2 semi finals update. The boys are pictured walking off the field for the final time this season. We knew that today would be a tough task chasing 484 but we went down with a fight. Rhys Roberts made a century, finishing on 113. Jarrod Starr made 46 and was the first wicket taken in the 32nd over and 116 runs in. Glen Peters made 28, Ben Power 14, Dave Smyth 8, Mal McClean 7, Rob Stranger 6, Cam Martin 3 and Joe Power 2, finishing our day at afternoon tea, all out 62 ove...rs in and for 237 runs. Thank you again to Chris Nevins for scoring and all supporters who came to watch. We may have not won, but making it to the finals is still quite the achievement and gives us something to aim higher for next year. Speaking of finals, next week Arnold and Kingower face off (if the heat rule doesn't come into play) at Inglewood. It's set to be a great match, so see you there!

07.01.2022 Because we were so distracted with our Australia Day event, we forgot to provide a match update... although admittedly there isn't much to tell! Last week Serpentine forfeited and by default we won the game. Our position on the ladder remains at 6th spot, which at the moment means we're not in contention for the finals, however there are four matches left for the season - two against the top four and two against the bottom four - so we still remain in with a chance. Tomorrow we're off to Boort (if we don't get washed out). Go Blues!!

06.01.2022 Round 14 update Unfortunately, due to being unable to get a side together this week, we had to forfeit against Wedderburn. This also means that there won't be a game next week. We will reform on 23 February, in the first semi finals against Arnold at Arnold.... While it's disappointing that we didn't have the chance to get a practice in, hopefully the break does us equally as good. It will be great to have as many people as possible get behind us in two weeks time, so lock the date in your diaries now - 23 February! Go Blues!

06.01.2022 We suspect you're curious about last week's results, so here they are! We won the toss and went into bat first. Ash and Johnsy made 25 runs a piece, and Ben and Donny 18 runs the same. We ended the innings all out for 135.... Dave took an amazing 5 wickets - a personal record in this league - and Ash took 3. Wedderburn ended up all out for 107, which means we won the game! Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if we win this weekend's game we're into the finals. So supporters, come on down to our last home game of the season against Bridgewater and help cheer us over the line. Go Blues!

05.01.2022 AGM held tonight. Welcome Sam Harrison as the incoming president of the ULCA. After 30 years of a President and Secretary/Treasurer duo, Peter Scullie and Micha...el Rose stepped away from their roles to allow new blood to lead the competition into the future. Both men have been instrumental in their roles in keeping the best interests of the league foremost and promoting Upper Loddon cricket at every opportunity We thank them both for their dedicated service and hard work. And wish Sam all the best in his new role. Peter (Skeet) will be his senior vice to make the transition easier. Also the season format is now a season of only one day cricket of 35 overs each and will consist of playing each side twice and 4 teams 3 times so a home and away of 18 games. Semi-finals and Grand final will be 40 over a side games. Draw to come. Welcome back old faces and welcome aboard new faces and best of luck to all sides competing in the coming season.

02.01.2022 Round 13, day 2 update This week, it was our turn to bat against Kingower and our target was 238. At drinks we had lost 4 wickets and made 24 runs. Compared with Kingower the week before, we were the same number of wickets and only 9 runs behind. Kingower proceeded to take wickets rather quickly after that, getting us all out for 60 runs off 31 overs. Nathan Johns made 20, while Jarrod Starr made 11. ... Having finished the game early, Kingower put us into bat a second time. At drinks we were in a better positon with 4 wickets for 53 runs however, it was short lived. We were once again all out for 63 runs off 23 overs. Tony Noonan made 17, while Jarred and Rob Stranger made 9 runs each. The loss meant that we handed back the perpetual Gilmore Cup trophy, but loosing is not a loss if you take something away from it. Heading into finals soon, it's a timely reminder for the team to concentrate on honing in our skills. Wind the clock back to round 6 and we had Kingower until the very last over. Next week we face Wedderburn at home (note change of venue), in what will be our last 2-day game before semi-finals. We are 3rd and Wedderburn 4th on the ladder, so it should be a good a game. The weather is forecast to be a lovely 26 degrees, so as always - supporters, sponsers, family and friends - come along. It's free to watch and the bar will be open! Go Blues!

01.01.2022 Today saw the return of Stranger danger (Rob) who took two wickets. Jack continued his bowling streak with three: his first wicket was taken on the second ball, while Rhys took four, with two off two balls - coming close to a hatrick. We got Arnold all out for 160. In the batting Johnsy made 31, while Noons made a total of 14 runs and hit his first six! Unfortunately we only reached 105 runs and therefore weren't the winners on the day. Next week we face Serpentine at their home grounds. Go Blues!

01.01.2022 Join us for what is always a great day out! Money raised will help support the McGrath Foundation and their breast cancer nurses.

01.01.2022 Round five update is sponsored by local Hblock earthworks who have machinery that will dig holes, level land and pick up, and move items. They can even take your rubbish! ____________________________________________ The wheels on the bus went round and round to Boort and we hailed to the bus driver, bus driver man - Tony Noonan.... Inglewood won the toss and batted. At drinks we were 0/75. Nathan Johns had another cracker day "despite the bloody flies" making 80 runs. Rhys Roberts made 37 while Rob Stranger was 38 not out. A special acknowledgment goes to Cameron Martin who made his first 11 runs, including hitting a 4 for seniors cricket. We think this is just the beginning of a bright cricket career for young Cam. We finished our innings on 35 overs for 5/218. The double D's stole the show bowling and our fielding side had extra miles to cover, being a field of 9. Daniel 'hamstring' Bourke took 3 wickets for 32 runs off 7 overs. Darcy Coppin also took 3 for 18 runs off 7 overs. Rob Stranger took 2 wickets for 7 runs off 3 overs and although Rhys didn't take any wickets, he bowled a great 7 overs for just 11 runs. Boort-Yando finished their innings all out for 105, meaning that Inglewood won and remains the only undefeated club of the season. We have a special treat this update and will soon be sharing some action shots from budding photographer Kates Snapz. This week, we face Kingower at Kingower, in what will be our toughest game yet, so supporters come on out and cheer the boys on. Go Blues!

01.01.2022 Happy Australia Day! See you at midday

01.01.2022 Great to see Loddon Times supporting our pink stumps event this Saturday! Come along dressed in pink to watch the top two teams face off, in what will be a great competition. We will have face painting, showbags, yabby races, spinning wheel and BBQ. The bar will be open and all money raised will support the McGrath Foundation and their breast cancer nurses.... See you at 1.30pm at the Inglewood oval. Go Blues!
