24.01.2022 The Inglewood Football Netball Club is saddened at the passing of Brian Appleby. Brian was a prominent member of the Inglewood team in the 1950’s and early 1960’s, including playing in the 1954, 56, and 58 premiership teams. Brian was awarded the Best player Under 21 years of age in the 1955 season. The IFNC pass on our condolences to Lorraine, Brendan, Gavin and their families.

24.01.2022 The Inglewood Football Netball Club is saddened by the passing of Rex Taig. Rex was a long time supporter of the IFNC, and even pulled the boots on for the Blues back in the day. Although unable to speak, Rex was always up for a chat, whether it be a word of encouragement or a discussion about his beloved Collingwood. He will be missed by all at the IFNC. The club passes on our condolences Rex’s family and many friends, including Margaret and Jon and Jan.

We will also be looking to fill the position of Jnr Vice President as soon as possible. We welcome on board Leanne Rowan, and welcome back Andrew Nevins and Natalie Rodwell. 08.01.2022 President's Report from AGM: G’day All, Well it’s been a somewhat interesting year with the 2020 season being postponed in March and eventually cancelled in June due to the onset of COVID-19 and concerns for the safety of players, staff, volunteers and spectators. It leaves me, and I’m sure all of you, with a hollow feeling after all the work that had gone into preparing for the season. ... We had appointed coaches for the season, these being Darrell Billett (Senior Football), Scott Runnalls (Reserves), Leigh Lamprell (Under 18s), Tegan Phillips (A and B grade Netball), Cerisse Brown (C Grade), Tracy Skinner (C Reserve), Helen Ward (17 & Under and 15 & Under) and Pam Kelly (13 & Under and Minis). I’d like to thank all the coaches for putting their hands up and for all the hard work done with recruiting and pre-season trainings. I’d like to thank those who got on the fundraising drive this year, it being a difficult task with all the COVID-19 restrictions in place. Tammie ran a Pie Drive, Belinda organised a Powerball fundraiser and Andrew Nevins and Belinda ran a Horse Tipping competition. All of these were very successful and raised some much-needed funds. Sadly, we had three people who had been connected with club pass away over the course of the year, those being Brian Appleby (3 time premiership player), Premiership player and former President, Les ‘Bluey’ Birthisel, and former committee member and sponsor, Greg Collis. To all their families and friends I extend the IFNC’s deepest sympathies. On a positive note we received a grant for the light towers with all materials having been delivered on site, and now waiting on tenders for the electrical work to be finalised before installation commences, which is very exciting, I’m sure you will agree. We released our strategic plan ‘THE NEXT BOOM,’ drafted and approved by the Executive Committee. The plan outlines our purpose, vision, guiding principles and strategic objectives for advancing the club for the next five years. Together with an annual operating plan we are looking to make the operations of the club more efficient. A big thank you to the committee and volunteers for all your tireless efforts in making this club great. Moving forward to season 2021 I urge everyone to throw your support and get behind the club. No matter how big or small, it all helps in the end. Let’s get Inglewood back up there again. GO BLUES! - Chris Cohalan
