24.01.2022 If stars arent your thing, try this.
23.01.2022 Come and say hi to our star of the show... This part was a difficult role to learn and while there isn’t any long speaking parts she is on the stage the whole time and sets the emotions and sass for the production. It took awhile for her to overcome being embarrassed about this role to nailing it and doing a fantastic job. Great work!
22.01.2022 Another interesting virtual tour.
22.01.2022 Have a look at some of the beautiful artwork that will be making its way up to the Inglewood Hostel to brighten up the residents day. Great work IPS students!
22.01.2022 Life is sure busy at IPS. We are full swing in production mode, throw in our swimming and gym programs and each day is jam packed. However, despite all of this we still manage to have our wonderful 2021 Preps this morning and they got to see the production first hand. They were very excited and it must have been entertaining, as they sat there beautifully for it and clapped in all the right places . A highlight for them was meeting their buddy and doing a buddy activity. Having a buddy helps our Preps transition smoothly and know that there is always someone special there just for them. Our senior students will help their buddy in many ways throughout the year from reading through to learning our school values.

21.01.2022 You can’t perform Aladdin without the genie Lillie took the challenge of being the genie in her final primary school performance. It is a big role and one in which she does a fabulous job. Lillie is feeling excited about her upcoming performance and her advice to anyone that is ever given a chance to be in a production is: Just get on stage and have fun. If you forget your lines, make them up. You can catch Lillie’s performance live this Thursday at 9:30am on our Facebook page.
20.01.2022 Starting this Monday. You will be hunting two pictures of people that work at the Primary School. Then we are moving onto people in our community. Once you work out the clue, you find the area, hunt for the picture and read the information about that particular landmark. You will also learn a few facts about the person in the picture and what Inglewood means to them. Dont forget to take your picture with the person or just snap the person and add your family name when uploa...ding to Facebook or emailing it for you entry into the hamper. There is also a bonus ticket if you post the answers to the questions, but that is more so for people to discuss and wonder about when they find the mystery place. All places are within walking distance. Please take care when you are out and about, wear your mask and remember to social distance if you see other people. A lot of work has gone into creating this and we hope you all enjoying getting outdoors and having a bit of fun in such a difficult time. See more

11.01.2022 ALTERED REMOTE LEARNING ARRANGEMENTS TERM 4 Good morning Inglewood Primary School parents, Last night we received a COVID update from DET indicating that with the easing of restrictions, there is now a change to the start date for students in Term Four. All P-6 students will now be starting Term Four on Monday, 5th October. ... In the letter sent out to parents last week, we provided a time during week one of Term Four (October 5th 9th) for students to do some one on one assessments with teachers, this will not occur as planned. Assessments will now be completed as part of the week one classroom programs. Thank you once again for all of your work & support during remote learning. We look forward to seeing all families at 7 oclock on Thursday night on our whole school WebEx meeting. There will be no work pack pick up time this Friday afternoon -however student work items from this week can be dropped off to the school between 9 am and 1.00pm on Friday to allow for their collation and sharing out to staff. ***SCHOOL SUPPLIES Also on Friday, families are now asked to return any school items gathered up during remote learning. Items such as readers, library books, class novels, guided reading books, packets of playing cards, dice, protractors, blocks, counters etc. all need to be returned school. This Friday would be ideal for us, allowing all items to be organised and ready for next term. Please contact me for further information if required. Kind Regards Lex Johnstone

02.01.2022 A massive thank you to everyone that played along. Our final week you got to met a long time local resident and a few residents form the hostel. Have a read below: Hi everyone, I am Gaylia Bell I bought the shop which is now Cousin Jacks Bakehouse in 1990 which was being ran as a Milkbar. My husband and I eventually converted it over to a Bakery and Takeway. Two years later we then went on to the shops next door, now known as Loddon Larder and Horseworld. It was run as a hab...erdashery shop and also was the Bendigo Bank Agency. The shop has been closed for the last 7 years due to needing major renovations, which I have now 90% completed. I was born in the Inglewood Hospital and went the Inglewood Primary School when it was known as the Inglewood Higher Elementary School. I moved away when I was 18, for work in Bendigo and came back to Inglewood to live with my family when I was 27 to raise my children in a country environment. GREAT FIRE OF INGLEWOOD Wednesday 3rd December 1862 was hot and dry in Inglewood. As evening came, diggers returned from their claims, retailers closed their stores for the day and families were preparing for their evening meals. At 6.20pm a waiter at the Unite States Hotel (across the road from here) saw flames coming from Hurleys Manchester House and Mrs Hurley running out screaming FIRE! Men and women came from all parts of the town to help fight the flames which soon rapidly spread to adjoining buildings and wind carrying flames across the road to those buildings. There was no fire brigade and no water connected to the town. Several water carts were bought in to the street and a human bucket chain from the March Reef (Unity) Dam was formed, however, the fire was too fierce and spreading very quickly up and down both sides of Brooke Street. Barrels of ale from the many hotels in the street was even being used to try and douse the flames. The only hope was to begin pulling down buildings further away from the flames to halt the spread. At about 10pm, the fire was finally brought under control, but not after terrible destruction. In total, 63 properties in Brooke Street had been destroyed either by the fire itself or by being pulled down to halt its spread. Amongst these were 10 hotels, 2 banks, a church, the Municipal Council Chambers and the Inglewood Advertiser office. The damage bill was estimated between L70,000 and L100,000 (pounds). The fires spread on this side of Brooke St was south to the Inglewood Emporium, and north to where the IGA building starts and on the other side of Brooke Street from Fusspots to the Royal Hotel with Chancery Lane assisting in stopping the spread (at the time Verdon Street did not exist). Mrs Hurley was found guilty of starting the fire in her store to claim insurance.
