Then if too sticky take to the fridge for 5-10 minutes and using a teaspoon scoop mixure onto a lines backing tray. 4. Makes~ 16-20 biscuits evenly spread. 5. Top with a choc chunk and transfer to a 180* oven and cook for 10-12 mins until just golden, swap trays half way through. Serve warm with a a tea/coffee and chill Great for kids, less fat, less sugar and higher fibre than most standard biscuits, certainly a winner - #homemade #baking #healthylifestyle #health #nutrition #hacks #foodporn #nutritious #swaps #parents #kidfriendly #kidfriendlyfood

18.01.2022 Emerging studies increasingly suggest that diet and lifestyle modifications are promising in the prevention and treatment of mental health disorders. A strong association has been found between a poor quality diet and exacerbation of mood disorders, is it time for diet intervention to be a core component of mental health treatment and prevention? Food for thought! Image from Thinking Nutrition. https://www.instagram.com/p/CG3FwkNl4Lz/
17.01.2022 We get asked commonly about salad dressings as the weather heats up, as it can be tricky navigating the many available on the supermarket shelves. Here is a simple recipe you can whip up yourself. The key is to not drown your salads in dressing but add a small amount for a hint of flavour!

15.01.2022 We peanut butter at Ingrained! There are so many "natural" peanut butters available now which can be a great way to reduce added sugar, salt and saturated fat, win win! What are your favourite ways to eat peanut butter? We love it in baking, with dates, apple or banana slices or on good old toast or crackers!
15.01.2022 This week we review Celebrate Health's teriyaki stir-Fry sauce. There are a low of products in this range, which has been around for years now in the supermarket health food aisle but how do they stack up and are they as healthy as they claim? https://ingrainednutrition.com.au/product-nutrition-review/

13.01.2022 Trying to increase your fish intake but not sure how to prepare it? Try this herb crusted salmon, simple and delicious https://ingrainednutrition.com.au/herb-crusted-salmon/
12.01.2022 Are you paying $10 for a box of ice-creams because they are promoted as the healthier option? There are many lower kJ ice-creams on the market that don't break the bank. Certain ice-cream brands have a health-halo surrounding them, marketed as the better option and therefore sending the price sky-high. Yes, they are low in kJ, however if you're looking for a treat that won't undo all your progress there are plenty of other cost-effective options available, most of these are actually lower in kJ than the worshiped halo top.
12.01.2022 Bringing the fibre and wholegrains to a tasty treat today with these high fibre choc brownies, made with black beans and rolled oats.. trust us they still taste amazing https://ingrainednutrition.com.au/high-fibre-choc-brownies/
11.01.2022 Snacks can be a great way to meet nutritional targets, improve energy levels and prevent over-hunger but also can lead to over-eating if not done properly! Do you plan your snacks or do you end up reaching for something less-than-healthy at 3pm?
09.01.2022 This recipe aims to please the whole family and is a good variation to a traditional pasta meal with a good flavour and added veg :) Pasta can be swapped out for black beans or kidney beans for those wanting more protein and fibre. https://ingrainednutrition.com.au/stuffed-capsicums-family/
09.01.2022 It's December so we can officially post Christmas content! This one is great for those catering to loved ones with dairy/lactose or gluten intolerances, is easy to make and delicious as well https://ingrainednutrition.com.au/dairy-gluten-free-christ/
09.01.2022 Plant-based Mylks. These are definitely gaining traction with them now taking up half a supermarket isle There are a few different reasons people are choosing plant based milks over traditional cows, the main one's being dairy or lactose intolerance, vegan diets and for some its the lower energy amount in milks such as almond. Unlike good old cows milk (still an excellent choice- and still the best in this dietitians opinion- we have written a blog on this topic!) Plant ba...sed milks vary in nutritional composition from one brand to another because they are a man-manufactured product. My top recommendation for choosing a plant-based milks are to ensure it is calcium fortified, no plant based milk naturally containing the calcium of cows milk. The more calcium the better with those around 300mg/250ml being the best. For vegans, looking for brands such as So Good with added vitamin B12 as well is key, as there are no plant based sourced of this vitamin. You may also want to look at protein content, as cow's milk is a great source of protein. Soy milk comes out on top here with oat milk varying greatly depending on the amount of oats used in the production. Almond and rice milk are both low in the protein department. I have not included coconut milk, but I recommend this be used in moderation only due to the significantly higher saturated fat content and the fact that I haven't seen one with added calcium- please show me one if I'm wrong!
08.01.2022 This new yoghurt claims low sugar, no "nasties" and a decent 11g of protein but does it taste good and who is it a good choice for? Checkout our review to find out https://ingrainednutrition.com.au/nutrition-review-two-goo/

05.01.2022 Many people are confused about coffee and caffeine, is it good for us and how much is too much? Does drinking coffee really make us live longer and prevent certain diseases? Can you drink coffee while pregnant? If you love coffee like we do, this is worth a read! https://ingrainednutrition.com.au/is-coffee-healthy-unheal/
05.01.2022 Many people swap to muesli's or granola's as the weather warms up. But with all the options out there it can be overwhelming. If you are following our posts you will know we do not claim to follow health claims unless warranted. If you considered a low sugar option there are many nutrition claims on packaging such as "low sugar" or "no added sugar" but in a lot of cases this is not 100% accurate, or at least worth a further look! Note there are huge differences with these ...granola brands between the original and the low sugar versions! So next shop what are you going to choose and why? .....
01.01.2022 Too good not to re-share these easy homemade snacks!
01.01.2022 We all know someone or are someone who has tried some form of a detox diet. These can come in the form of herbs, pills, powders, enemas, and other forms of colon cleansing (yes you read that correctly) The idea that we need a detox product to achieve overall health and aid weight loss is not backed by good evidence . Healthy adults have a very effective system for removal of waste products and toxins from the body. Our lungs, kidneys, liver, gastrointestinal tract and immune ...system are all primed to remove or neutralise toxic substances from the body. Currently, very few scientific studies have investigated the effectiveness of detox diets for losing weight. These diets are usually short-lived, always nutritionally incomplete and can come with some adverse side effects such as dehydration. Over time, long term severe calorie restriction can result in energy, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, fatigue, irritability and bad breath! If it seems to good to be true it likely is and if whole food groups are banned this is a major red flag!
