25.01.2022 At The Ingrown Toenail Centre we are saddened to hear about the case of Alex Braes, a NSW boy who died as a result of complications from an untreated ingrown toenail. Ingrown toenails can cause infection when the nail edge pierces the skin and bacteria enters the wound. Left untreated this infection can progress to surrounding soft tissue and bone. Alexs case highlights the importance of having ingrown toenails properly assessed and managed at an early stage to prevent serious infection and complications. Our thoughts are with Alexs family.
