25.01.2022 If poles are the #1 rehab tool, risers and stands are their ultimate companion...but what if you can't afford to buy a set? Milk crates are dangerous. I'm not a... fan of the traditional X stands either, and prefer something with no sharp edges protruding. Something that will cup the pole fairly securely, but give way to more serious knocks instead of catching legs. Enter the humble potty. I got some funny looks when I walked out of IKEA with 12 of them earlier in the year, but at $4 each, I was too excited about the creative possibilities to care. I don't want my poles far off the ground for a long time; a few inches is plenty for the controlled walk and trot work I had in mind. DISCLAIMER: Yes, of course these are more likely to break than purpose made cavalletti stands. If you can afford the unbreakable, no-sharp-edges kind, they are a much better choice. In lieu of (exorbitantly priced) proper stands, these have a rubber lined edge, are an effective but comfortable height for raised pole work, seem to roll over easily with the pole when hit with moderate force, and in my opinion, are preferable to leg traps like milk crates. I probably wouldn't use them for jumping or fast work - the patterns I am incorporating into our program are largely in-hand and I'll be aiming dead centre for any trot poles under saddle. Use them at your own/your horse's risk (and splash out on the real thing if you have a windfall!). Choose wisely - I liked these potties because of the low, rounded profile and protected edges. I saw other designs I wouldn't take anywhere near a horse. Be safe, be sensible, have fun with your horse, and share your #HorseRehabHacks with the rest of us!

24.01.2022 This sermon as the author calls it totally and clearly explains why Arandth has quite a few very old but very loved members of our equestrian family still gracing our paddocks. The elder statesmen Eton 34 yrs and Monty over 28 yrs but not sure his actual age delight me every day. Mostly I am just delighted to see Eton still up and about waiting for his breakfast. ttps://www.facebook.com/817144395/posts/10156874543714396/

19.01.2022 After purchasing the 'Manolo Mendez DVD - Training for Wellness: In hand Lessons - an introduction to working in hand' http://www.manolomendezdressage.com//in-hand-lessons-with/ I struggled to find a supplier of the bamboo canes he uses. ... Light Bulb Moment:::: Remembered we have a large bamboo stand in our garden so I have strated making my own and now have surplus. Dried in hand bamboo canes for equestrian work. These canes have been hung and dried but not buried in the ground as some people do to replace moisture. However, you could still do this if you wished. They come in various sizes from approximately 2.3 mtrs to 3 mtrs. They are carefully selected to ensure they are not to thick to hold but are strong enough to be fairly durable. Prices start at $30 plus postage for the shorter canes. Discount for multiple purchases. To discuss lenghts and thickness etc you can contact us by message via FB or phone on 0412859756 Chat (6)

13.01.2022 The first delivery of dryed canes have arrived safe and sound. Presently I have the following Dried Bamboo Canes available: 4 canes approximately 3 mtrs long... 6 canes approximately 2.10 mtres long The canes have been hung and dried, and then when dry they have had all the rough pieces taken off and sanded to ensure there is limited chance of the cane catching in mane or tail. They have not been burried in the ground as some to do regain moisture. You could still do this but I have found that it does not make much difference to their life and the extra moisture does make them slightly heavier to use. For shiping the canes are packed in a condoint tube which keeps them safe and also doubles as a protective case when in use. You can keep them in the tube on your arena which keeps them out of the weather and prolongs their life. Price of the canes: 3 mtrs $40.00 each 2 mtrs $30.00 each Or 2 of each length for $60.00 plus postage and packaging. Delivery and packaging varies but is estimated to be between $36.00 and $40.00 to many locations in Australia. (Actual cost has to be confirmed when delivery location is known). If you would like to order please msg. The canes take about 6mths to dry. So supply is limited. I have just selected, cut, cleaned and hung the next batch as shown in the photo.

12.01.2022 Just letting all who have expressed an interest in the Bamboo Canes that I am in the process of finding couriers that will deliver. One of my challenges is the length of the canes particularyly the long ones. Many couriers are not able to accommodate this length of package. However I am waiting for some to get back to me. If anybody knows of a very good courier that will transport this length of cane etc I would be very appreciative of the information. Many thanks.

09.01.2022 These canes make your in hand work so much easier as they are light in weight, feel beautiful in your hand and give you a deft but light touch in your in hand work improving your communication with your horse.

07.01.2022 The next batch of beautiful canes hung to dry. All canes are carefully selected to ensure handles are not to thick and canes are maximum length. Some being close to 3 mtrs. All over 2 mtrs. Presently have only 2 canes of approx 2.3 mtrs long available. Can be cut to preferred length. I work with these lengths mostly. Can be shipped to most parts of Australia.

05.01.2022 Success!!! Bamboo Canes shipped and on the way to Werribee. They are shipped in conduit tubes for protection and these double as storage units for the canes. This allows the canes to be close to out door work spaces in all weather. Particularly handy for those of us who are not blessed with an indoor.
