21.01.2022 Hey Scomo, an Australian Family Day Care educator here. Remember when you announced that you were giving free daycare to Australia, but forgot to tell Australi...a you were doing it by stealing 50% of my wage? Or you were basing it on what we earn in March and making us take on more kids in April without paying us for that? Or that the fees my families used to pay our scheme for operational costs will now come out of that 50% dropping my actual income down to 40%? Or that many FDC educators wont be eligible for top up job keeper because you changed our tax deadline? And in this same press conference you ruled out parliament taking a pay cut? Ive discussed this with the other educators and weve decided to reject your package and bring in our own. As tax payers, were kinda your boss you know. New deal- Im taking 50% of your income. You can apply to be reimbursed the additional income for this month, next month. In 4 weeks time you can just back pay your mortgage and bills. Except you cant, because to be eligible you needed to have done your tax last week even though its not due until June. Its hardly my fault that you didnt. Anyway, Im not giving you the whole 50%, you will have to pay 10% of it to your office staff to keep your government operational. Also, Im increasing your workload, because doing government for essential workers is your duty. You will need to work additional hours each week, without social distancing or any PPE. Youll obviously be doing this additional work for free, because Im only paying you based on the hours you worked in the first week of March, which is very fair. Also Im not going to tell Australia any of this, Im just going to tell them they now get free government. I hope you enjoy the humiliating experience of handing your shopping bag with home brand pasta, 3 star mince and 2 bananas back at the checkout when your card is declined #isavedaustralia #freegovernmentforall #justuseyoursupertobuygroceries

15.01.2022 Early educators are the only Australian workers to have had JobKeeper ripped away from their entire sector. Now in Victoria, educators are suffering the conseq...uences. With early education services only open for essential workers and vulnerable children during Stage 4 lockdown, many early educators will lose shifts or be stood down completely. These educators will be filled with anxiety about their futures without the certainty and continuity of JobKeeper. Scott Morrison must acknowledge withdrawing JobKeeper from early educators was ill-conceived and premature, and ensure they wont end up in Centrelink queues as a result.

14.01.2022 "This new policy that was meant to improve access for essential workers has actually removed my daughters access to childcare." A Perth mum says free childcar...e is a mess and, despite being an essential worker, she can now only get one day a week instead of three. Susie Lillis and her husband initially pulled their two-year-old daughter Annabel out of her three days of childcare for six weeks, but have both now been told they cannot work from home. They continued pay the centre to keep the place, but have only been able to get her back in for one day a week, as the centres staff and revenue has been drastically reduced. "We requested a return two weeks ago but have been offered only one of our three days back, because our childcare centre cannot afford to take her back," Ms Lillis told ABC Radio Perth. CHILDCARE CENTRES PAID LESS The problem is previously centres were paid a minimum of $11.98 per hour, per child, made up of a combination of government subsidies and parent contributions. They now receive just half that amount. When parents began to pull their children out of childcare in early March, the childcare industry warned it was at risk of mass layoffs and even collapse if the government didnt step in. The response was the free childcare scheme, which paid centres a flat rate for every child, based on enrolments during February But parents and centres say that has brought its own problems, and that centres are struggling to offer daycare, even to the children of essential workers. "They cannot afford to take our daughter," Ms Lillis said. CO-CONTRIBUTIONS BANNED And, while Ms Lillis would love to be able to pay the centre an additional contribution, its no longer allowed. "Our centre and all other centres are prohibited from taking our usual co-payments. They cannot take the money so they are forced to run on this $5.99." Ms Lillis said she was reduced to tears after contacting three other centres, none of which could offer her daughter a place. Any centre that did offer her a place would not receive any additional funding. Shes now questioning the operation of the scheme, which she believes is leaving parents unable to return to work and childcare workers laid off. A SIMILAR STORY Another Perth mum, Paula, contacted ABC Perth with a similar tale. "Im very lucky, Ive been able to get my daughter back in three days a week, but its a maximum of six hours a day," she said. "Id love to pay the gap to help them but they cant take it. "They are getting the maximum revenue they can right now, but to physically take more kids, they cant do it." A spokesperson for the department of education, skills and employment told the ABC that all child care providers that receive the Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package are expected to remain open and provide free child care, prioritising care to the children of essential workers, vulnerable children and children whose families have an existing relationship with the service. 08.01.2022 The Morrison Governments child care changes have created winners and losers - with some families receiving free child care, and others receiving no care at all.... These parents and many more are now unable to find the child care they need to work. The Government promised free child care to every working parent now they must properly fund early learning providers to ensure every family who needs child care can access it.

06.01.2022 Please help share my friends, we need Educators urgently

04.01.2022 We would like to expose a situation. If your children dont learn with children with special needs at school and have never been taught that not everyone is equal, maybe you should spend 10 minutes tonight to explain it to them, because although they dont currently live with these children at school, they will find them in their lives for sure. In light of recent events regarding the exclusion of a child with autism from attending a school trip and a child with Down Syndrome... being expelled from dance class because she couldnt keep up with it, we feel the need to share this. There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthday parties. There are special children who want to be part of a team but are not selected because its more important to win than to include these children. Kids with special needs arent weird , they just want what everyone wants: to be accepted! Can we ask a question? Is there anyone willing to copy and paste this post on their wall without sharing it, like we did, for all the special children out there? Please teach your children to be kind to these beautiful children! Everyone needs love and kindness #inclusion #autism #beingdifferentisnormal #respect #love #empathy See more
