24.01.2022 November: Up to Kempsey, to look after just a few fur babies!! 10 cats, and 4 dogs.... 9 of the cats were in an enclosure, 1 had free reign of the house, as did the 4 doggies... People would say "oh, my gosh, what a lot of work"... Nope!! Really easy peasie, as their Mum had everything SO organised!! ... Forgot to take photos of all bar one of the cats!!... These doggies were a hoot!!! The fires were bad around Kempsey during this time, and of course, Lake Cathie, Port Macquarie and surrounding areas. Many of my friends and clients were on "Watch and Act". All were safe, with homes intact. Scary time for all!!

23.01.2022 Following Zu and Jet, I headed up to Gympie, and looked after Zena and Zelda. Zena I had looked after previously, but Zelda was a new addition.. I called her "Lolly Legs", as she was all gangly legs, lol!! Another pup to the household. Both girls are Staffy Bulls. Very hard to tell them apart, except for when they sit (sit differently), or if I can see Zena's tail - she has a white tip on hers!! Otherwise, they are just SO alike!!... "Resting" on the bed......

23.01.2022 To all my lovely clients who have contacted me to ask how I am doing. You have NO idea how much those messages and phone calls mean. Truly!! I am well, safe, and currently in Port (at my fav Caravan Park). I had great plans for the next 7 days, all of which, like many people's plans, have gone South in one fell swoop. ... So will finish up my current projects, and pop them into the storage unit until everything and everyone is up and going again, and head off down to West Haven to spend time with friends. How much time??? Who knows, in this current climate. Travel plans of so many have been disrupted, I know... For some, it has worked out, for others, its been a huge disappointment, as they planned to travel to see family and friends. My "family of the heart" found out today that Qld's borders have closed. Meaning they now can't travel up to see one of their daughters... I wish you all the very best. Stay safe, stay well, give all the fur babies a HUGE hug for me, and tell them Aunty Kaz will be back when this has all passed...... At least I will have fur babies where I am going. Have missed being nagged to be let in/let out, put out dinner, supper or just give a cuddle, pat or whatever!!

23.01.2022 March 2021 - another regular in Port Macquarie, NSW - the gorgeous Mindy!! Who likes to think she can take on the Water Dragons and....win..... Noooooo, Mindy!! I always know when a Water Dragon is around, as Mindy lets me know...lol!! We were safe during the floods that devastated Port Macquarie, Taree, Wingham and many other communities...

21.01.2022 Rain tonight - not heavy, but gentle, and continuing. Been raining for about 4 hours, so very happy!! Hopefully, it will continue, and give fire fighters, home owners and farmers some much needed respite... To all - have a blessed and safe Christmas, may all your fur babies behave themselves, and 2020 bring you peace and safety!!

21.01.2022 Finish the Whippet House/pet sit today.... Too cute for words!! Mustn't forget Lara the cat -who is boss of the wash........ The girls (Dot, Polly, Hazel and Lily) all curled up together. Lara taking her ease in the dog bed....lol!!

20.01.2022 Where has the time flown??? September/October saw me spending almost a month looking after the gorgeous Connie!! What a character - beautiful pussy cat. I caught the local lurgi during this time, and Connie was content to keep me company while I slept it off. Such a lovely girl!! Second picture - she was a tad ticked off with me, as I had put her outside, lol!!

20.01.2022 I leave this gorgeous girl on Monday.... Such a sweet, seniour lady!! Mum and Dad have put her on some new medication. Wow!! Has certainly given her a new lease of life!! We JOG!! Not far, mind you, lol!! Both of us being SENIOURS!!! Not often, and not every day.... Roxy amuses me. She gets to the dog park, and does a mad dash up and down about 3 times, then looks at me as if to say "aren't I clever???" Yep!!... Toowoomba. Heading back over to Gympie to help out some friends for a night or two. Taking a few days to get there, as I want to explore a few places on the way over. Then it is back down to Port Macquarie area until late in March of next year....

20.01.2022 Wow, it has certainly been some time since I posted!! What a crazy time 2020 was - and sadly, 2021 isn't looking a whole lot better. Hopefully, the vaccine rollout will help us all get back to "normal" lives. COVID certainly impacted on house/pet sitting, with borders to Queensland closing, so unable to go up and help out several clients in Brisbane. They are booked again this year, and hopefully, borders will stay open.... In amongst all this, my old phone died, and it was just a TAD old to transfer all the photos over... Sadly... But here goes. A little montage of some of the beautiful fur babies I have looked after since last year - with some time out at Melaleuca Caravan Park, which sadly, has now been sold, and will become a Service Station. The managers Mark and Michelle, took on the role for "12 months". 5 years later, they were still here. Just as they were thinking about moving on, and continuing their grey nomad journey, COVID hit, and turned our world upside down and inside out. Lesley, the Assistant Manager, had worked at the Park for many years. All of them are fantastic people, and the Caravan Park was very lucky to have them. Here then, are photos of some of the fur kids I have had the privilege of looking after since last year... Some are missing, as the photos are on my other phone. I have done repeat sits for some of the clients, so have photos on new phone.... Homer: Having his weekly egg on toast; Bundle of fluff, Jack (who is 16!! and still going strong); Mum and bubs - they were just over 2 weeks when this photo was taken. Eye's not quite open!!. All have gone to their new homes now, including overseas. Family are VERY responsible breeders, and all pups have basic training (and sometimes more, lol!!). SUCH a privilege to look after this lot. Hard yakka, and not a lot of sleep, but WELL worth it!!; Ruby and Sally. Ruby is the big white one, and in this photo, she has just finished destroying a pieces of card I had cut out to use in making a card..... Obviously VERY tasty!! Don't let that cute face fool you, lol!! Sally is very much boss of the wash........; Ruby and Sally "resting" after a hard day; "the gang" at the breeders. This is two pups from a previous litter, with their Mum and kennel mates. They have now gone off overseas, and having a WONDERFUL time in their "forever" home; last but not least is Tilly.... who was looking PARTICULARLY pleased with herself, as she had managed to snaffle a stuffed toy I had purchased, and left within her reach. Not only did she snaffle ONE, but helped herself to ALL of them, lol!! Fortunately, no harm to stuffed animals or Tilly.....

19.01.2022 Spent just under 6 weeks looking after the beautiful Darcy - or did he spend almost 6 weeks looking after me???? May through June... Kempsey, NSW. Darcy is a Blue Heeler, and had his 10th birthday while I was there. We celebrated.... I made him a "cake" of mince, egg, grated zucchini, grated cheeze and grated carrot.... Sang "happy birthday", blew out Darcy's candles for him, and then Darcy finally got his "cake", lol!! Thankfully, I don't think the neighbours saw/heard it all..... A few pics of the beautiful boy... But none of his birthday, as I can't find them!!!

18.01.2022 As usual, I am a bit behind on the page!! Currently in Rockhampton, Qld, looking after 3 gorgeous fur babies. Then head down to Brisbane on the 3rd January for two back to back sits... Photos as soon as I upload them from phone.

18.01.2022 A walk with friends and these two beautiful fur kids this morning!! How well trained are these two??? Retired guide dogs. Star on the right (retired on medical grounds) and Elsie on the left (retired due to age).... With Lucy Hardy and Liz Drinkwater.

18.01.2022 The darling Jett passed over the Rainbow Bridge on 7th May, 2019.. Run free now Jett. Your mind was always willing, but your body just wouldn't let you do those long walks you loved.... You're free to run to your hearts content now, no longer hampered by your physical body.

18.01.2022 Aaaannnnddd - last but not least. Hugo, my current fur baby... Hugo is 20, and was a rescue. His Mum and Dad have worked wonders with him!! The photo is one that Hugo's Dad took - Hugo thinking he can fill his Dad's shoes!! Hugo and I get to hang out together until March 8 next year. Don't let on, but Santa left a present for him.......

17.01.2022 Oops, just a LITTLE bit behind!! Been a very, VERY busy few months, not helped by the computer deciding to play up!! All good now... My stay in Esk seems so long ago now........ Early August, I caught up with the two rascals Zena and Zelda in Gympie Qld, while their Mum and family went to a wedding. Also managed to get to a Crystal and Mineral Show while I was there!! Fantastic, and met lots of interesting people, in addition to seeing lots and lots of wonderful goodies for sale..

17.01.2022 Another fur baby crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. Darling Nova... A beautiful Golden Retriever of advanced years. RIP Nova. I am sure there will be lots of tennis balls to chase on the other side, trees to piddle on, and lots of exciting smells to sniff...

17.01.2022 Said farewell to the delightful Darcy in June, and headed up to Toowoomba for a few weeks. Looking after Sally, Cherry (fur kids), Merry the Cockateil, Cocky, the Cockatoo, Bertha and the other 4 chooks, and a pond full of gold fish... Sally was a rescue dog, with Heather and Roger being her EIGHT owners.... They have done WONDERS with her!! From a scared, needy girl who used to jump fences if they left her at home, to lying on her bed, totally unconcerned that you have been out for the past 5 hours, lol!!

17.01.2022 October - November... Up to Toormina, to look after 2 fur kids, who were not at ALL pleased to see me, lol!! Not the first - both Jimmie and Monkey are rescues, and have come SUCH a long way, thanks to the care of their Mum. Only took 24 hours, and I could walk both of them.... Within a week, Jimmie was happy to sleep on the bed with me, followed not long after by Monkey. ... Two cuties!! Loved their walks - the more walks the better, they reckoned!! We managed to squeeze a few in during the day....... The boys supervised my card making........

16.01.2022 Oh, Hugo, you are so funny!! He decided a good claw of one of my bags was the go... I said "HUGO!! STOP that!!". He immediately stopped, put his head on his paws and pretended to be sleeping.... Too funny for words. Wasn't quick enough to get a photo...

16.01.2022 This post is a little different to my normal posts. Teachers in Townsville are looking for supplies. Pens, pencils, notebooks, pencil cases, note pads etc. I have an email address for one of the teachers, so if anyone would like it, please message me.... If you're in Qld, check out local areas to see where they might be collecting and forwarding. If in the Port Macquarie area, contact me, and I'll either pick up, or let you know whatever info I have.

16.01.2022 Still in August, I headed down from Gympie back to Port Macquarie, to look after the gorgeous Mindi and Marlie. This turned out to be my last time looking after Marlie, as she crossed the rainbow bridge a few weeks after this sit.... Such a beautiful girl, and her mate is missing her, not surprisingly. These photos were taken by Mum and Dad. If Marlie didn't have her winter jacket on (where has the time flown???), it wasn't "Where's Wally?", it was "Where's Marlie?". The n...umber of times I went looking for her around the house, only to go back to each and every snoozy spot (sometimes 3 or 4 times) before I found her curled up in a bed the same colour as her coat........ I hope you have a spring in your step now gorgeous Marlie, and you can sniff all the flowers, and run through the grass... I'll certainly miss you little one!! The house is not the same without you!!

15.01.2022 Currently in Brisbane... Looking after 2 delightful fur babies, who greeted me like long lost cousins yesterday, lol!! Been a bit slack on posting, so here is a montage of the lovely fur babies I have been looking after the past few months. Dunbogan, NSW; Lake Cathie, NSW (between Dunbogan and Port Macquarie); Port Macquarie, NSW; Rockhampton, QLD, and now Brisbane.... Was with Henry in Port Macquarie on Christmas Day. He didn't quite know what this funny looking parcel ...was. Didn't smell of food, so he went back to his bowl to see if any more had mysteriously appeared (nope!!)... I unwrapped his present (tennis ball), and he was as happy as Larry, lol!! Nothing for it but to wear this new ball in..... Which we proceeded to do!! Henry might be advanced in years, but he LOVES his ball games!! Nova (beautiful Golden Retriever of advanced years) has had her Summer shave. Spike isn't growling - I caught him in mid yawn, lol!! Homer is enjoying his morning toast, the two poodles Mindi and Marli a walk, Buster on my knee, Mira and Madi (mother and daughter) chillin' on their dog bed.... The "three musketeers" are in Rockhampton. Sniper, Boedicia and Shadow... Bodecia thought I needed "rescuing" every time I went for a swim...... LOL!!

15.01.2022 Sad a sad goodbye to the beautiful Roxy today.... Now having a few days off in the lovely town of Esk, Queensland, before heading over to Gympie on Friday (could be Thursday, lol!!) to house/pet sit for a friend while the family all head off for a wedding. From there, I head off to Brisbane to catch up with another card maker. Not sure if I will stay the night yet (decisions, decisions!!). Then spending a few days with friends in West Haven, before starting back to back sits in and around Port Macquarie and surrounds, until early March.....

13.01.2022 Still in October - back looking after the gorgeous Homer!! Homer enjoys his vegemite on toast each morning, and on either Saturday or Sunday, he gets an egg on toast... Cutie!! Missed out in November, due to the fires, and Homers Mum and Dad being on "Watch and Act". Fortunately, all ended well....

12.01.2022 This beautiful boy crossed the rainbow bridge a few nights ago. He lived a full and happy life. Now free of pain, and more than likely chasing tennis balls, rabbits and whatever else he can chase! Thanks to his Mum Lucy for letting me know.... RIP Henry.

12.01.2022 Good evening all!! This is Bonnie here. Following on from Hugo's post. I just want to add to Hugo's comment. Aunty Kaz is a MEANIE... You see, my Mum feeds me Roo Meat.... But sometimes I like canned food.... Now Mummy, if I turn my nose up at the Kangaroo meat, will INSTANTLY get me some lovely canned food..... Then, if I turn my nose up at that, she INSTANTLY opens another can..... Aunty Kaz??? Nooooooo.... She leaves me to STARVE!! Meanie... Aunty Kaz edits to add: Hmmmm. Bonnie, I KNOW your Mummy doesn't "INSTANTLY" open a can for you... And I just leave your roo meat there for a couple of hours - and guess what??? You EAT IT ALL!! Tonight you got a small helping of canned food.....which I must admit, you almost fully polished off. Starving puddy tat???? I don't think so!! You and Hugo make a good pair!! Next YOU'LL be telling me about the HUGE mice coming in and eating your tucker!!!

12.01.2022 Thought I had the page up to date, but when I checked - oops!! Remembered we had a power outage when I was updating... So, here goes - October. Aww, two cuties!!... Miss Macey and Miss Polly, two gorgeous ladies. Polly LOVED being on the bed at night, and used to snuggle up on top of the hot water bottle - until she got too warm, then she would move off to the side.... Miss Macey just liked to snuggle!! As there were a few "two dog nights", worked perfectly!! Miss Macey reckons I need to learn to throw a stick properly... She isn't the first furry kid to say that, mind!! Can't tell they loved two things - walks and sleeps, lol!! Oh, and of course, FOOD!! But the last is a given for all the fur babies....

12.01.2022 Hope everyone is surviving the "social isolation".. As said earlier, I am staying with friends for the duration. All of us are crafters. Thus far, another knee rug put together (I didn't knit the squares), a host of sorting through card making supplies (never ending, lol!!), with plans to sew a bag for my large guillotine, with pockets on either side for my standard trimmer and itsy bitsy guillotine. My sewing machine (one of them, anyway) lives in the car permanently.... ...About the only thing I don't have with me is knitting needles (well, a few, but not my full range). About to go to the car and see if I have a set of 9's (in the old money) -nope. Lots of card making gear, but no knitting needles...... Partly undid a square to see how many rows the person had done before starting decrease (one of those you start with 3 stitches, increase to the size you want, then start decreasing until you have 3 stitches). LOVE it. Was given a pile of squares to make up from another member of a knitting group. We knit/crochet for homeless, nursing homes, women's refuge etc. Plenty of squares, but not enough of each colour combo to do one whole knee rug, so divided into two. One down, one to go. Need to make 4 more squares for the centerpiece.. Sister of the heart has just gone through her stash of knitting needles, and gifted me several sizes, amongst them some 9's!!! Yea. So here are a couple of pics. This is Ms Penny, with one of her favourite toys!! Not letting it go for ANYONE. She'll tease you with it, by offering it to you, then quickly turn her head away when you go to take it, lol!! The second pic is the knee rug just finished. One more to do, then I will give them a rest for awhile. Have completed 5 in total now since being with Helen and Ray...... Two were a pile of squares I found in my storage unit (done over many years, and some more recent), two I finished off for the knitting group. All will go to homeless/nursing homes. Stay safe all!! Remember, this too shall pass. Remember to take time out for yourselves, exercise, garden, craft or whatever...... See you on the other side of all this!!

11.01.2022 Well, night before last, Bonnie totally ignored me. Picked her up to put on the bed - she gave me a disgusted look, and jumped off. What a difference last night!! I opened a CAN!! So I was suddenly Bonnie's best buddy. She followed me for the rest of the evening, jumped on my lap (never mind the crocheted rug I was working on - Aunty Kaz was just expected to move that aside!!)...... Off to bed - followed by Bonnie. Woken up this morning by gentle pat to the face with paw. Sheathed claws, thankfully. Ignored the first salvo. A few more gentle pats. Still ignored her. A flurry of pats to the face followed. Gave up, and deposited her outside for her morning ablutions... Mind you, she can jump on and off the bed, and has a kitty door to enter and exit. But heh, why waste all that perfectly good energy, when you have a hooman to carry you outside??????

10.01.2022 Finished a sit in Brisbane, and started the second one one same day (yesterday).. Beautiful boys on first sit.... 2 pups (just under 12 months and just under 10 weeks), plus Jet the "Senior" on current sit... All beautiful fur kids!! Working with Freddie (youngest pup) on toilet training..........following on from her folks..... and having about as much success, lol!!... First photo: Spike and Buster asking "Are we EVER going for a walk, Aunty Kaz?"... Second pic - behaving BEAUTIFULLY by sitting and staying when asked on a walk... Third photo: Second sit: Freddie in "time out".... Fourth photo: The elderly Stateman Jet, who still loves a walk, even if it is only to the end of the road. We went down a side path today, but that was just a little to far. So tonight it will be to just the end of the road. Not bad for a boy who has spinal issues, and who is elderly!! 5th photo: Zu and Freddie, coping with a splitter and being walked on one lead. Much greater success this morning than last night!! Zu definitely keeps Freddie in line....lol!! Last photo: Couldn't resist taking a photo of this flower in full bloom. Just stunning!! The remainder were all a bit wind blown and tatty. This one simply STUNNING!!

10.01.2022 April 2021: Headed down to the lovely community of Black Head... SUCH a pretty spot!! First time looking after these two gorgeous fur kids - Cooper and Mittens....... Mittens is the cat....... Used to come in at blurry O'clock in the morning, demanding to be fed, then when told "No!", would look at me, then curl up alongside me and fall asleep - often not getting up until well after I was up, lol!!... Cooper liked to sleep on the lounge.. Although he DID join me one morning, and curled up beside me... Not sure who was more surprised - myself or Mittens, lol!! Mittens had some interesting poses.......

08.01.2022 It's been a busy few weeks since leaving Brisbane. Kempsey, with the beautiful Darcy, then with regulars Madi and Mira then back up to Kempsey with Darcy over the Australia Day long weekend. Now back in Port Macquarie, looking after 2 munchins, Tillie and Monty. Brother and sister from different litters... Monty is 12 months, Tillie is 2...... Asking "when do we go for a walk, Aunty Kaz??". First walk was a bit of a disaster, as Monty is an escape artust, and slips his collar easily when on a lead. We didn't get too far!! Problem solved today... I rattled around in my harness stash, and found a harness that fits Monty snuggly. Tillie copes well with the other harness, so a great walk this afternoon, and another to come tonight!! Both are having a rest now, lol!!

08.01.2022 February - March 2021: Looked after the gorgeous Mira - a regular. Port Macquarie, NSW She's a smoocher!! Getting older now, as we all do, but hasn't slowed her down!! Who knew what lay ahead? Not long after leaving this sit, Port Macquarie and surrounds were facing floods....

07.01.2022 Have had an interesting month!! Looked after the two gorgeous poodles, Mindy and Marley. Then a bit of "time out" Now at Nambucca Heads until 15th April, looking after Archer (Labrador) and Snoopy (Foxy).... Both VERY cute!!

07.01.2022 It's a tough gig, this house/pet sitting, tell ya!! Just ask the boys.... This is them having a wee rest after one of our morning. walks... Took camera with me that day, and couldn't resist photographing the beautiful reflections...

06.01.2022 "Hooman, please open the door to let me in... I KNOW I have a cat door... But you are sitting there doing nothing - so - OPEN THE DOOR... Please!!!" Bonnie.... today, 14th March. She has been sitting at the door for the past 15 minutes..... Staring at me.... ... I gave in.... LOL!!

06.01.2022 Being supervised while card making. Archer (Labrador), informs me the role DOESN’T include anything I drop - excluding food of course!! Snoopy is staying silent.

06.01.2022 How cute is 20 year old Hugo?? Just finished a 4 day sit, as a prelude to 4 months over Christmas!! SUCH a cute boy!! Now on my way to Gympie to catch up with friends for a few days (and hopefully, FINALLY get to ride ‘The Rattler’ - checking for tickets as soon as I have computer up!!). Then it’s off to Toowoomba again, before heading back down to Port Macquarie and surrounds until March of next year.

04.01.2022 I was left wondering what the boy got up to last night after spotting him like this in his bed around 11 am this morning....... He won't tell me though. "None of your business, Aunty Kaz!!".....

01.01.2022 Last walk yesterday with the beautiful (and cheeky!!) Tillie and Monty. I was going to do a training walk, using cheese as a reward.... Well, that was an EXCELLENT idea. Pity I forgot the cheese, lol!! They didn't do too bad, regardless. Mind you, I don't think there was a blade of grass that didn't get sniffed, a tree, leaf - whatever!! They are CUTE!!... No furbabies now until the 6th March :(...... Will miss having them around!! In Port, on a slightly different house sit. About my 3rd sit now. Then back to my regular gigs, looking after fur babies!!

01.01.2022 This gorgeous girl passed over the rainbow bridge today. Senior in years, but still loving life. Run free, beautiful one!! Last photo is with her daughter Mira, anxiously waiting for their walk!! The idea that doors had to be unlocked and opened were NOT in Madi's vocabulary!!

01.01.2022 Well, good evening all. Hugo here... Cat extraordinaire... I have a COMPLAINT to make about Aunty Kaz.... She didn't feed me enough!! You see, when she went out, she left my feeds set up with "automatic timers"..... Don't know what they are, but suddenly the lid would open on my meal.. The ONLY problem was that these HUGE mice came in and ate all the food. I complained to Aunty Kaz - and she DIDN'T BELIEVE ME!! So I starved...... You can tell by looking at me that she... underfed me... Anyway, my Mum and Dad are back tonight, so THEY'LL believe me when I say the big mice came in and ate my food while they were out...... Aunty Kaz edited to add: Hugo was treated inappropriately in his early years, with his owners thinking that the best way to look after a cat was simply to leave him with an open bag of kibble... Needless to say, he was eventually handed in to a rescue mob, and taken in by his current "Mum and Dad". They have done WONDERS with him. While he looks "fat" in this photo, in fact, he is a very, very long boy, and has a lot of loose skin around his belly, where he has lost weight.. And no, I didn't "starve" the boy, lol!! He got his normal diet..... Large mice indeed!! Cute boy though........
