24.01.2022 !!NORMAL FRIDAY!!! It’s just a regular old Friday here in the studio, for anyone who’s wondering. We generally don’t participate in mass sale events for philosophical reasons, but also because we don’t manufacture at a scale that allows for huge discounts. We try to keep our prices as reasonable as possible at all times, taking into account all the hands-on, hard work our local team puts in every day. We also ask you to reflect on the practices of those big brands who do have the profit margins to offer such big discounts, and who might be paying the *true* cost. - On a brighter note, we have also just restocked our lovely Riverbend in Terracotta pillowcases! Hand printed and locally made with our ethically sourced Belgian linen

23.01.2022 How are you holding up out there? During these tough times were always keeping an eye out for little bits of brightness, like these emerging buds of green as our ancient oak tree comes into leaf. It is a joy to look out our studio windows each day and watch this process of transformation...

21.01.2022 You asked for it - Fabric Bucket kits are online now! There are 4 different fabrics to choose from, suitable for all skill levels. $40ea. And if youve been waiting for more offcut bundles weve just listed more of those too (so you can double up and save on postage!)

21.01.2022 A couple of lovely Banksia rectangle cushions off to a customer. Love how the Snow ink sits against the texture of our Oatmeal eco-linen.

15.01.2022 Well be honest in saying that during lockdown its harder than usual to maintain low waste practices in the home. Were all seeing an increased reliance on food deliveries, packaged goods and disposable items for hygiene reasons. But we can still make little changes, like using these beeswax food wraps instead of cling film. Or better yet send some as a gift to a friend or relative who needs a little encouragement . Our @bee_eco_wraps are the longest lasting wraps weve used, lovingly made by a QLD based family business https://shop.inkandspindle.com//products/bee-eco-beeswax-f

15.01.2022 Guess what! Bundles and bucket kits are back in stock! What better things do you have to do on a Friday night these days?

09.01.2022 Another flashback, freshly printed Bottlebrush in Deep Red on natural eco-linen. Pictured here upside-down would you believe it? The Callistemon species we based this design on has a pendulous habit, which means the branches hang downwards

09.01.2022 Thank you so much for your @retroprintrevival x Ink & Spindle lampshade appreciation! We thought it’d be nice to introduce Tamara Watts, the designer behind Retro Print Revival. We asked her to tell us a bit more about RPR, how it began and what local & timeless design means to her: Tamara: Retro Print Revival was born after I bought a stash of vintage fabric off a collector at a market just out of Melbourne. It was one of those ‘I’ll do something with these one day’ purchas...es. So I made a lampshade for a friend, then another, then another. In 2009, I left my job in VM and started RPR. What draws me to mid-century design is the simple lines, the warm timber, the craftsmanship, and most importantly its the beauty and function of mid-century design that I love and admire. I’ve always appreciated MCM and having my brand has really ignited that love. RPR is true celebration of Australian design teamed with local craftsmanship, proudly artisan-made with each element being sourced from the surrounding community, not only preserving quality, but ensuring the carbon footprint is low. Find our full collection in our online store under Homewares>Lighting.

05.01.2022 STAGE 4 RESTRICTIONS. For those who dont know, Melbourne has just entered extreme lockdown which sees most businesses and manufacturers having to close their doors for the next 6 weeks. This means we wont be able to print any of your lovely custom orders, however we will still be allowed to come in and dispatch online orders. Please give us a few days to check stock and make sure levels are correct before making any rush purchases, we should have this all sorted by the end of the week. For those customers who have existing jobs in the pipeline well be in touch individually with an update. - Thank you all for your support and patience during these difficult times. Were thinking of you too and the various personal battles were all facing during these times xx

Follow them to get a glimpse of their own creative practices too. - We’d also like to take a moment to thank the lovely staff who have moved on over the last year, those who moved ...interstate to follow love, work or escape lockdown (@sam_kenneally, @genevieve.kh & @teresa_nunes_) and of course the all round talent @lauren_tausend who’s still helping us behind the scenes whilst she focuses on her own creative textile works, and the amazing @holly.denshire.key who's focussing more of her time hosting amazing print workshops in the studio as @print.safari.
