13.01.2022 Hello friends! I did this Teacher PD for the amazing Awesome Arts in the midst of the Corona lockdown in WA. I talk about making and drawing stories with kids, and offer some practical ideas to use with your little ones https://awesomearts.com/2020-educator-pd-with-samantha-hug/

12.01.2022 Olive and I did some drawing together with crayons on this box today. She liked the zhh zhh zhh noise the crayons made on the bumpy cardboard. And making them tap-a-tap tap. We sang put a spot over here and she pressed each dot firmly after I drew it. She was very excited to trace her finger over the letters of her name.

11.01.2022 Painting leaves outside this morning. Honestly? Olive only poked her hand in the paint box a few times. But she loved squishing paint on Mummys hands, and playing with the paint bottles - rolling them around. She also babbled to the rain. It was a lovely time together. We are going to turn this pile of leaves and sticking into an Easter Tree later today.

11.01.2022 This Easter tree makes me so happy

06.01.2022 Hello friends, We understand the news about COVID-19 is making a lot of our friends and family anxious. The advice to stay home with family to help reduce the spread of the virus is something we will be following. Our top priority is making sure our art family is safe, and with the current COVID-19 advice, we have decided to suspend classes for this week.... In the meantime, here are some ways to make cool art at home this week! 1. Be inspired by this closeup photography of giant grasshoppers to draw or paint. https://video.nationalgeographic.com//00000162-f7d0-d699-a 2. Make some salt-dough to sculpt some awesome animal friends. This recipe can be cooked in the microwave - https://preciousplay.wordpress.com//easy-salt-dough-play-/ 3. Listen to these amazing frog songs from WA amphibians and draw or paint as you listen. http://museum.wa.gov.au//herpetology-reptiles-a/frog-calls We will be in touch later in the week to let you know how we will be approaching the rest of our classes for the term. Happy art making, and we hope to see you at the studio soon! Sam and the Inkling Team
