14.01.2022 Strong in body, strong in mind. . Being a sole trader has the mind-bending rollercoaster of being both exhilarating and exhausting, rewarding and challenging. On one hand, I get to craft my business the way I want to, with the vision I have of what a healthy business, good clientele and a balanced life looks like. When the machine is oiled, everything is tickety-boo. . Then on the other hand, there’s a whole lot of hard work that goes on underneath away from view that someti...mes makes me want to shout, cry, throw the towel in, Netflix under a blanket and never come out. When you double down with the lapses in motivation, creative blocks, or - my favourite - imposter syndrome - sometimes I question... W H Y ? . Because, as cheesy as it sounds, it’s worth it. So, so, so worth it. Worth it for me, because I created it. Worth it for my clients because I genuinely believe in every one of them and THEIR visions. How exciting then to see this truly marvellous idea of creating your own cookbook, especially for those venues that may not have considered this before.... . They’re small, they’re templated, they’re crowd funded and somewhat like a penguin classic and you only need 100 pre-purchases (in 10 days) to get it to print. . Yes, ego yada yada... but also the heart-skipping joy in knowing that my thoughts and words have inextricably affected someone else enough that they pay attention, even just for a moment... A little while back, I wrote this piece for TEDxSydney on kindness and why it’s so important. Seems pretty simple, right?
