24.01.2022 GIN LOVERS - UNITE.

22.01.2022 Staving off the COVID-10 (you know, those extra 10KG that seem to be lurking around )... Like it? Head to Visit Port Douglas & Daintree for more of my wordly goodness!

22.01.2022 Writing for TEDxSydney is definitely one of my favourite gigs, and this topic is one quite close to my heart - the plight of live performance during a time when physical social connectivity has been outlawed. . Thankfully due to digital and creative ingenuity, we're not completely living in a futuristic 'Footloose' - there are a number of performing artists adapting so they con continue to bring joy, entertain and maintain a sense of purpose. . Cath Alcorn from The Reservoir... Room and Melissa Head from Wonderland Spiegeltent... take it away. . See more

18.01.2022 I'm stoked to have been able to help out with agency Creative Little Soul on their podcast. Naturally, Imma gonna pitch people who I genuinely believe are extraordinary leaders in their fields, as well as just being bloody good humans. Lisa from Margan Wines & Restaurant definitely ranks among my top business crushes. Chef, nutritionist, winemaker, sommelier, sustainability champion, mama - there's nothing this woman can't do. Pour yourself a glass (preferably a Margan wine), and have a listen to her story about surviving and thriving through strange times.

17.01.2022 Stuart Knox is a straight-shootin', well-versed, seasoned yet professional cowboy in an industry made up entirely of cowboys. His views on industry standards and expectations as well as what wine to have with your Korean fried chicken get respect from industry (and non) lurkers, proving he has his finger on the pulse of the industry's heartbeat. His venue, Fix Wine Bar Restaurant & Store is also popular with foodies for its no-nonsense delivery of flavours at an approachable ...price point along with an eclectic list of wines that informs the online offerings available during this enforced shutdown of restaurants. Check out the interview below with Creative Little Soul on where the hospitality industry is expected to go from here. www.creativelittlesoul.com.au//where-do-we-go-from-here-a/

15.01.2022 BEST EMAIL EVER. Just advised an article I wrote for TEDxSYDNEY was the most widely read article this quarter. Totally made my day.... Check it out for yourself... https://tedxsydney.com//top-10-ted-talks-thatll-change-yo/

14.01.2022 I’ve always had this idea that ‘letting go’ of someone meant you had to stop loving them. That you couldn’t accept a relationship’s end until the love you felt for that person faded completely, falling away into the background of your life, only being reminded of them when you heard that song you both loved play, or when you pass that restaurant you both used to haunt on cheeky midweek lunches, or you saw that wine you both solved the world's problems over. But maybe I’m wro...Continue reading

14.01.2022 Strong in body, strong in mind. . Being a sole trader has the mind-bending rollercoaster of being both exhilarating and exhausting, rewarding and challenging. On one hand, I get to craft my business the way I want to, with the vision I have of what a healthy business, good clientele and a balanced life looks like. When the machine is oiled, everything is tickety-boo. . Then on the other hand, there’s a whole lot of hard work that goes on underneath away from view that someti...mes makes me want to shout, cry, throw the towel in, Netflix under a blanket and never come out. When you double down with the lapses in motivation, creative blocks, or - my favourite - imposter syndrome - sometimes I question... W H Y ? . Because, as cheesy as it sounds, it’s worth it. So, so, so worth it. Worth it for me, because I created it. Worth it for my clients because I genuinely believe in every one of them and THEIR visions. Worth it for the balance and strength it provides me, making me a (hopefully) good hoo-man... and a good marketer. . Strong in body, strong in mind, strong in business. Here’s to all the solo-ists out there today - you got this! . Instagram.com/katie_hill_fitness_ See more

12.01.2022 SUPER excited this publication hits the stands tomorrow! One of my annual favourites to work on, the Discover Paradise liftout in the The Australian features all the best tips to stay and play in the tropics. . And yes, I did laugh at some of my own jokes. Hopefully I'm not alone there... #awkward . So pick it up, have a read, and hopefully a giggle.

12.01.2022 H E Y R E S T A U R A N T F O L K Whilst I’ve not been secret about my distaste for the word ‘pivot’ in our current vernacular, I am particularly flabbergasted (a word that doesn’t get nearly enough use) by the way some business models have adapted during this time, and so darn quickly! . How exciting then to see this truly marvellous idea of creating your own cookbook, especially for those venues that may not have considered this before.... . They’re small, they’re templated, they’re crowd funded and somewhat like a penguin classic and you only need 100 pre-purchases (in 10 days) to get it to print. . In addition to those fancy DIY and take away options, it could be another way to allow people who love your venue to support you, ooooorrrrrrrr it could just be a fun experience! . 11.01.2022 Who knew I knew so many fun things to do?! (Spoiler... well, I did ) . If you've been wondering what on earth you could possibly do while visiting these gorgeous climes, here's the comprehensive list. What have I missed?!

10.01.2022 Did you see this lovely liftout this weekend? Page after page after page of tropical holiday inspiration, content written by yours truly, collaborated and edited alongside the brilliant team at Visit Port Douglas & Daintree. . I’m really grateful to live in a place that fulfils my wanderlust-ing heart, but can still wear heels on the weekend. It’s a place of epic beauty, raw adventure, lip-smackingly good restaurants, soul cleansing natural vastness. If you go anywhere this ...year, make Far North Queensland your #1 spot. . 09.01.2022 I’d love to take credit for this one, alas it came from another group I’m in... #Marketing SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF "MARKETING."... 1. You're a woman and you see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and say, "I'm fantastic in bed." That's Direct Marketing 2. You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a handsome guy. One of your friends goes up to him and, pointing at you, says, "She's fantastic in bed." That's alliance marketing... 3. You see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and get his telephone number. The next day you call and say, "Hi, I'm fantastic in bed." That's Telemarketing. 4. You see a guy at a party; you straighten your dress. You walk up to him and pour him a drink. You say, "May I?" and reach up to straighten his tie, brushing your breast lightly against his arm, and then say, "By the way, I'm fantastic in bed." That's Public Relations. 5. You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He walks up to you and says, "I hear you're fantastic in bed." That's Brand Recognition. 6. You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He fancies you, but you talk him into going home with your friend. That's a Sales Rep. 7. Your friend can't satisfy him so he calls you. That's Tech Support. 8. You're on your way to a party when you realize that there could be handsome men in all these houses you're passing, so you climb onto the roof of one situated towards the centre and shout at the top of your lungs, "I'm fantastic in bed!" That's Junk Mail. 9. You're at a party and you see a handsome guy. Your best friend, who happens to be your ex boyfriend, starts sharing with him his amazing experiences with you in the bedroom... Thats affiliate marketing.... 10. If you found value out of reading this, share with your community & add value to their life! - thats Network marketing!

09.01.2022 The world seems a little bit heavy at the moment. And whilst it's very easy to get caught up in a 'branding exercise' extolling support for social justice issues, it's vital that actions follow words... otherwise, that's all they are.

07.01.2022 I love the little *ping* that pops up when someone has read and reposted something I’ve written. Yes, ego yada yada... but also the heart-skipping joy in knowing that my thoughts and words have inextricably affected someone else enough that they pay attention, even just for a moment... A little while back, I wrote this piece for TEDxSydney on kindness and why it’s so important. Seems pretty simple, right? Do nice things for other people - our family, our friends, our partners..., strangers. Gotcha. But what about being kind to ourselves? It’s very easy to let that slide... Choose to be kind. To others, but most importantly, ourselves. https://tedxsydney.com//kindness-why-its-more-important-t/ (Thanks for the share, Instagram.com/reenaserene)

07.01.2022 For anyone who is applying for the Small Business Grant and needs a helping hand, Adllins Media are there for you! I work with this agency a reasonable amount, and can assure you're in good hands.

06.01.2022 TAX TIME || On the upside, I've had time to upskill, listen to those masterclasses I've been threatening to do and complete all those pesky tasks I've been putting off for ages. . Downside, I'm apologising to my bookkeeper for overspending? Thanks for not shouting at me Kent Fordham . . Big thanks to the fab Nina Hendy - journalist & content creator for including me in this piece on tax time tricks for freelancers.

04.01.2022 #3 got me GOOOOOOD!!! How many phrases have you been tripped up on?!

04.01.2022 I’ve been feeling slightly off colour this week, but convinced myself I was too busy and ‘needing’ to work and do all the things to pay attention to it. . This morning, my PA (aka Ms 6) informed me I’d been drinking expired ‘smelly’ milk. . Good times.

04.01.2022 I've been an avid page-turner of Oasis Magazine and card-carrying fan girl of publisher Jules Steer since I moved back to the tropical north several years ago. . We bonded over Aussie pub rock , growing up as 'good Catholic girls' , living in Ireland and all the wine that went with it . So you can only imagine how tickled my pink bits are to have a spot in the latest edition of the mag.... . Get yourself a copy, settle in, and read all about celebrating life in Far North Queensland. . Oh, and I'm on page 69. . Don't say a word. . https://www.oasismagazine.com.au//oasis-magazine-issue-35/ See more

02.01.2022 ‘The grim beeper’ *dies laughing* *disappointed when soul is harvested by the grim reaper and not the grim beeper* As if spiders didnt terrify me enough, now I’m dealing with my soul being harvested my a Daddy Long Legs. Great. Just great.

02.01.2022 If Saturday means working, at least make it tasty, right...?
