22.01.2022 IWA Changeover Registration is now available on the IWA website
20.01.2022 Tuesday 7th April - World Health Day On this day, let all Inner Wheel Members not only recognise and celebrate the advances of medical care that we all receive ...but more importantly let us all open our hearts and offer our prayers to all those that are suffering the effects or have suffered losses due to this terrible corona virus. Inner Wheel is awake somewhere around the world 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with some of us seeing Spring around the corner and others slowly going into Winter but one thing that we have in common is the sense of being one family where we care for each other. I am proud of being part of that family and the strength that we can give each other not just on World Health Day but every day in these difficult times. May you and your families all keep safe and well so that Together we can all enjoy good health. With all my love, Phyllis See more
14.01.2022 FAREWELL The past three years has been a huge learning curve for me and I have learned a great deal. I am most grateful to have worked with talented, experience...d members both on the Executive and elsewhere who recognise the importance of promoting our organisation over the glorification or advancement of any single individual, and of protecting the long-held values of IW. I sincerely thank them not only for their consistent support, encouragement and friendship but their dedication to our great organisation. During my travels, I was most grateful to not only experienced members’ gracious hospitality in amazing places but to also see the very best of IW and its members. From this, it has been my pleasure to develop wonderful friendships and connections that I shall always treasure. I extend my sincere thanks to CC Corinne and Treasurer Liz for their consistency and hard work. Each inherited a quality legacy from their most capable predecessors, Phyllis and Azhagu, which has complimented the happy and amiable working tone of the Executive. As many members know, working behind the scenes can be something of a thankless and misunderstood job, so I must take the opportunity to gratefully acknowledge the work of Administrator Alan and Administrative Assistant Elaine. Their professional skills and management expertise advance the IIW cause in ways that are not always fully appreciated. My congratulations and admiration go to President Phyllis for successfully navigating this difficult IW year, where we all learned that by focusing on important IW issues and tenets, ‘Together we can’. My best wishes to VP Bina as she enters her presidential year. I look forward to her continuing the established Executive consultative process, thereby ensuring the enhancement of our international organisation. IIW is about moving together globally, and I have every hope the new Executive will embrace that ideal. I thank you, the members, for this opportunity to serve at this great organisation’s highest level. I leave the IIW Executive with the greatest respect and admiration for the work done selflessly, and largely silently, around the world in the name of IW by those whose projects and actions regularly reinforce the objectives of IW. I urge those wonderful members to continue to proudly advertise their charitable activities and outcomes to provide others with inspiration and enthusiasm, and look forward to following those initiatives via the IIW website and social media sites. Chris Kirby AM President 2018-19 International Inner Wheel

10.01.2022 Our ladies are assisting in catering for the lunches for volunteers who are helping with replacing perimeter fencing destroyed in the recent devastating bushfires that swept through the Corryong region. On Sunday sandwiches for 100 volunteers were made. The fencing rebuild has been organised by the Rotary Club of Belvoir Wodonga. Westmont and Scots School are also assisting with catering.
07.01.2022 Easter Greetings. No matter where we live, whether it is spring or autumn, this is the time of year when in normal situations many Inner Wheel Members would c...elebrate the Easter Festival with their family and friends. They would follow this by having a wonderful time with their children and grandchildren hunting Easter eggs around the house or garden and eating too much chocolate. This year it will be different, for with many Churches closed and families in lockdown the only way we can say greetings to our loved ones will be via social media. Wherever we are in the world, I am sure that there is no one that has not prayed for an end to this virus and its tragic results. This Easter weekend let us all say a prayer to give us inspiration, new hope, health and friendship in abundance with peace throughout the world. Paul and I are still all in lockdown, which means I have been completing too much housework and gardening when I should have been visiting so many of you with your rallies, conferences, meetings and just good Inner Wheel friendship which is what I have enjoyed and I have missed. Last July I made a promise to myself that I would try to talk to as many members as possible whilst attending all these functions. This is how I have met so many interesting members, from possibly the youngest President to a member that has been in Inner Wheel almost all her life. With so many members in so many countries leading very interesting lives with interesting stories to tell, I could write a book. It has proved to me that no matter what their age Inner Wheel members are very talented, Inspirational and Innovative. This weekend, let us not only acknowledge and remember in our prayers all the people that are working to save our lives, place food on our tables or in a position that is not normal but also those families that have lost their dear ones. My prayers and heart are with you all at this testing time, so please stay at home and save lives but also please stay safe as INNER WHEEL NEEDS YOU for tomorrow. Love and best wishes for a healthy Easter and hopefully it will not be long before together we can overcome these difficult times and renew our friendships face to face. Phyllis See more
05.01.2022 A message to members from 2019/20 IWA President Robyn Gillespie
04.01.2022 An important message from the IWA Executive
03.01.2022 Fellow Inner Wheel Members, a few more days have passed since my last message and most of us are still in social isolation. Firstly, can I say that my prayers... and thoughts are with you all and especially to those Members who have suffered losses within their families, friends and neighbours. It is wonderful to hear from many of you personally and to read on Facebook what fantastic work you are all doing in your communities where you continue to help in so many different ways. We also have to be there for our own members especially members that are on their own. Not only helping with shopping, collecting medicines, etc. but by making contact either by email, WhatsApp or by that very welcome telephone call just to say Hello, how are you? As well as helping members you are helping the local and wider communities there are so many that now need our help to keep our countries in action Doctors, Nurses, Ambulances, Police, and all the key workers that work behind the scenes to keep the wheels turning, such as Carers, hospital porters, cleaners, refuse workers, food and medicine distributors, even farmers. Being from a farming family, I must also mention farmers who are working all hours to put milk and fresh produce on the shelves of supermarkets and local shops. Amongst these key workers are many of our own Inner Wheel members and their families - we all admire your continued workload and commitment. Can I personally thank you all for whatever you are doing in the name of Inner Wheel THANK YOU. With the WHO, Governments, The Gates Foundation and other wealthy organisations donating so much to find a vaccine for this virus we can only hope that it will be available to us all in the very near future. However, I feel that our strength and assets will be when the lockdown is over and we have our freedom. This is when Inner Wheel will be called upon to help so many that will be left as widows, widowers, homeless, without a job not forgetting those women and children that already depend upon us. It is going to be a world that we do not know but Inner Wheel, the world’s largest voluntary service organisation, will prove to be inspirational and innovative in making this world a safer and better place for all. Not knowing when this virus will come to a halt, we are all learning new skills for virtual Club and District meetings, coffee mornings, dinner meetings not to mention keep fit, sing-a-long and knit and natter meetings. We can also use these new skills to our advantage and let the world know that Inner Wheel is alive and active. Be proud of what you are doing for the communities and keep placing it on social media. You are all making me proud to be an Inner Wheel member and proud of all that you are doing but - other than our Key Workers - Please stay at home, save lives and stay safe. Phyllis
