23.01.2022 Yesterday I did a talk at a corporate office, with a GF of mine, regarding food and the links between mental health. After battling with depression since I was 14, my first of 5 suicide attempts was at the age of 15 in my bedroom which to this day I only told my parents 6 months ago. This is a topic that is extremely close to my heart ! I wasnt satisfied with being told by the doctors that medication was the only way I was going to feel normal for LIFE! I got further inspired when my daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and severe inability to regulate her emotions! I knew there had to be other alternatives to just medication! I kept educating myself and to this day I still learn something new everyday! The talk was extremely well received which just makes it easier to do next time!

05.01.2022 Opportunities are often disguised in situations that test our resolve and even bring us to our knees. In the past when the universe presented me with one of these moments I would always think the usual thoughts and I would find myself saying; why is this happening to me life is so unfair when is enough enough... I always have bad luck On Monday this week my 9-5 which is my families main source of income was terminated just short of 3 months early. The timing is terrible... Just as Christmas is approaching, my eldest daughter is turning 13 in December, my youngest daughter starts kindergarten and needs a school uniform, the eldest two be receiving booklists for next year and then there are the normal bills to maintain, mortgage, phone, utilities etc just like every other family. Ive been unhappy in my role for a good part of 2017. Ive missed being around for my 3 year old after being a stay at home mother when the older girls were the same age. Also the thought of not being available to do the morning drop off and pickup for Tori when she starts Kindergarten is heartbreaking. So although there are definitely going to be some challenges Im actually thankful for what has happened. This is not something bad, this is an opportunity! This is a character building moment. I actually welcome these moments now as this is when I find strength thats always been there, this is where I stand on my feet and thank the universe for bringing me this opportunity!
