23.01.2022 Yoga helps children develop the awareness of their bodies and how our body moves, it enables them to form a connection with parts of their bodies they may not spend time noticing. It’s brings their awareness back to themselves. Yoga also improves motor skills and is an outlet for self expression. When we feel emotionally and mentally stagnant/stuck the best thing we can do is to get the energy moving in our bodies, movement is medicine for the soul. Our bodies are magical, tr...uly something magnificent that we don’t give enough credit for. We are so lucky that we have bodies to move around in! Look how we can bend, fold forward over ourselves, twist our upper body while our lower body is still connected to the earth. Look how we can create space in the body when you commit to a regular practice of stretching. Creating space in the body also helps create space up in our mind. It creates space to think before we act, it brings our awareness back to the moment rather then living in the future or worrying about the past. So who’s down to creating some mental & physical space? See more

21.01.2022 GRATITUDE STONES Letting our creativity go wild!! Drawing all things that we are grateful for and what we love! Always leaving space for children to express themselves freely, this activity spontaneously lead into emotion stones; this allowed the children to express their emotions through drawing rather then speaking about them. ... Sometimes it’s hard to express our selves with words.. we think to much about what we are feeling allowing our mind to become in control of what it is we are feeling.. - we are taught how to think more then we are taught to feel & - we are taught more about doing than actually being! Re read that ^ When we allow ourselves to feel our feelings sometimes it doesn’t make sense, it can be uncomfortable... it feels like we are out of control, or we are doing it wrong. This isn’t the case, my mentor AM says we have to feel to heal The 3 R’s outline the procedure - recognise, regulate & restore! More about this in the next post.
20.01.2022 Join INNERBLOOM for a kids FREE yoga class this Friday! Spaces still available for both ages Send us a message to secure your spot. INNERBLOOM X

19.01.2022 Like a leaf, life changes. Life goes in cycles, the birth of something new then becomes old. You gain all the wisdom along the process & carry it on to the next stage, taking what you learnt from a previous experience onto the next more so, unfamiliar experience. A new leaf sprouts in the spring after some down time in the winter hibernation months, summer comes along & the leaf is at its strongest, autumn falls & the leaf begins the process of letting go, winter creeps bac...k in & the leaf is no longer strong as it once was nor does it have the support system of the branch to grow from. Each stage is as important as the one before. Life is continuously changing, going through cycles, which happen - whether we like it or not. Change, growth and transformation go hand in hand. Whatever cycle your in watch the process & transformation unravel before you. Dance with the leaves in the wind rather then trying to tame them See more
18.01.2022 How good is a lil (or a lot) of me time. At first I used to hate it when I was left alone with myself and my thoughts. My annoying thoughts that wouldn’t shut up, first they confused me, then scared me, they were mean and cruel.. but over time me & my thoughts have developed a good relationship with one another. Yeah we bickle a little bit, we fight here and there like all healthy relationships do but when things get a little crazy I pull them into line and have a stern w...ord with them. I try to understand with compassion what they’re trying to communicate to me before they result in an ordeal behaviour. It can be hard sometimes to understand them when their being stubborn or throwing a little tanty but having the time to check in on them & coming to a conflict resolution makes all the difference in the world. It resolves actions before it becomes a behaviour. It’s only now, finally now, after much commitment to understand and process them that there’s a mutual respect between us. (I’m still talking about my thoughts btw ) I can appreciate what they’re trying to do, or what they’re trying to save me from, but Ive also come to know that most of the time theres a false internal dialogue thats been trying to write a script for the Dani show for years now. I can now see and choose which movie projection I want to play the main character in. Every day is different and the moments that are contained with in them can be filled with every different genre, but with awareness I can sit back, relax and let the movie play while not allowing my thoughts to take the spotlight. This relationship with my mind and thought forms has purely been developed on the sacredness of solitude. It’s also a time when I can come back to myself, pause my thoughts and watch the role of my heart. I like being the director in my own movie, the current projection that I am watching is way better that the outdated film that was being played years ago. See more

17.01.2022 The INNERBLOOM project is a proud supporter of the Streetsmart Handbook. It is so great to be able to come together as a community to support children and teens who need some extra assistance
16.01.2022 A cheeky little note from Albert Einstein - the man himself. Take some time today to imagine all the great things possible, it all starts with a thought, then the next step is action. Your dreams are never to far away, you just have to believe in it enough to achieve it.
14.01.2022 Incase you needed a little reminder, here it is!
14.01.2022 Nothing better then testing out our concentrations skills then with some balance! Some days my mind is sharp, I can control my thoughts & not let anything get the better of me.. these days are the days where I can bring my attention to the now and have a point of focus. I balance best on these days. Other days, something so little can get the best of me, my mind is running the show, I start thinking of all the things I have to do, distracting me from the present moment. Tho...se days I wobble, fall and stumble. Bringing balance into our practice can help us focus on where we are at, it can be our reflection to what’s going on internally. Children love the challenge of a balancing poses, especially boys. They are determined to show you that they can do it! Challenge your children to balance on one leg, you will see the concentration beaming out of their eyes like laser beams See more
12.01.2022 INNERBLOOM is looking to establish a mindful & movement class to your weekly schedule. To make your Sundays even more special INNERBLOOM is looking to introduce a Sunday slow down class for children. This will allow you have to some extra time on your hands doing all those last minute things you need to do before the week starts OR simply gives you 45 mins to just breathe without someone clinging onto your leg asking you what’s for dinner for the 50th time.. we get it and we...re here to help! How good would it be to pick up your children cool, calm and collected after 45 mins of pure bliss, mindfulness and movement? Sounds pretty good huh! But, there’s always a but.... to make this magic happen we need your input & for you to share with all your other fellow parental pals. We need to know how many parents & children (of course) are interested in this opening? We are looking into a space in Mona Vale that has an opening for lunchtime on Sunday. Does this time suit you? INNERBLOOM greatly appreciates & totally relies on any input that you have. We want to meet your needs and your child’s needs. Everyone has a need that needs to be met & INNERBLOOM wants to shake your hand and meet your need, SO hello & nice to meet you, please get in contact with us or leave a comment with any question or suggestions! 12.01.2022 A great post by Big Life Journal. I am continuously fascinated about how we process our emotions and feelings, even more so, how we can help children process their own emotions and help them make sense of the feelings they could be feeling in their body. But first, we must be aware of what are our emotions or feelings are trying to tell us? All children want is to be able to understand their feelings, so our greatest gift is to help them feel understood. I can’t even begin i...magine how hard this must be for children to understand these emotions. This might help some parents with a different perspective on how to navigate conflicts or boundaries when tantrums arise. ... Very often our children challenge the rules and boundaries we put in place. And when we say no, that's when conflicts and arguments arise. So what do we do in these situations? Let me first tell you what we USUALLY do. We explain. "You can't watch so much TV, it's not good for you." We explain WHY we have these rules and limitations in place. We explain WHY they can't have more screentime, WHY they can't own a cell phone when all their friends have cell phones, WHY they can't have another cookie. We explain and explain... and they seem not to care or the conflict doesn't go away... And here's why The most important thing is NOT to get them to understand your logical reasoning. The most important thing is to help them process their **emotions** and **feelings** AND to show them that YOU understand. You understand their feelings. You get it. Here's what you can say: "I know this is so hard. You really want to keep watching the show. It's so so hard to hear "NO" when you REALLY want to. I get that. I really really do." Sometimes that's all you need to say. You can offer a hug, you can let them cry and express their strong feelings. They need to know that all feelings are okay. They're welcome to show how they feel about the rules and boundaries. And you, as their sturdy leader, is there to listen, understand, and hold your ground.

11.01.2022 & just like that winter is gone!! In the winter months we focused to have some very much needed time off to rest, reset & realign with ourselves & our values. Winter is known to be the season to go inwards both physically & energetically, the days get darker & the nights got colder, the energy in general is slower. Now it’s spring!!... Time to creep out of the cocoon & start to slowly open our wings to become that social butterfly we tend to be in the warmer months. But before we do, we detox. Spring time is the time of detoxification, we clear away the old stagnant energy that was built up over the cooler months & it’s now time to welcome in the new fresh energy. Its time for a spring clean as they say. The thought of cleaning though.. the I can’t be bothered to deal with that, I’ll shove it under the rug well it’s time to bring it to the surface & give it a good ol scrub! At first, the process of dusting everything sucks, you know it has to be done, you don’t want to do it, the dust is unsettled causing you to get a snuffly nose, the upveil of everything is overwhelming, you want to stop, to give up & pay someone else to do the work for you BUT you find your groove, you chuck on your favourite playlist & before you know it you have become a ninja warrior cleaner making sure there isn’t a inkling of grime left on any surface. You knew it wasn’t going to be easy & the dust allergies sucked but you did it anyway. Now, your left sitting in your clean space feeling lighter already. Your inspired, motivated, got a kick in your step & ready for what’s next. Welcome to spring time baby when the flowers bloom, the sun shines, the butterflies are out & you feel refreshed. INNERBLOOM has some new & exciting things happening, we are so ready for the seeds to sprout that we’ve planted long ago! So keep your eyes peeled because some beautiful things about to take place.

11.01.2022 THE THREE R’S! Recognise, regulate and restore! * Recognise ... NAME IT - learn about emotions and what they feel like for you to help identify them. For me, stress instantly occurs in my large intestine.. I get pains & I feel a tightness in my chest! (I’ve learnt that I’m restricting my breathing and that I’m not breathing properly into my lower diaphragm which in turn means that no oxygen is accessing my intestines causing tension & restriction to blood flow) * Regulate FEEL IT - connect within yourself and feel your feelings.. express yourself! Release the emotion in a safe and healthy way. This could be exercise, journaling, breathing, grounding yourself in nature, screaming into a pillow, art, movement/ stretching, going for a walk. We have to feel our feelings to heal them! Without expressing or releasing them we create tension and resentment internally and externally. These feelings and re-actions will keep on appearing until we address them! * Restore HEAL IT - use what you can to learn and grow from this experience. With awareness brings change. Our emotions and re-actions are our biggest learning points! Why is it that we are re-acting that way? What is our emotion trying to tell us? What can I do for myself right now? It takes time, patience and persistence! Becoming conscious and learning about ourselves and our emotions are the best thing we can do for ourselves and for future generations. We will be able to hold space for our children to have their own emotions without having our own emotional re-action to there behaviour! As I write this I am taking notes for myself It’s the work that we all have to do! I affirm to myself everyday that I will show up & try to be a better person then I was the day before!
07.01.2022 Miss Indy showing us her biggest huff & puff! This pinwheel spun like crazy Indy took the deepest breath she could accessing the bottom of her diaphragm and blew her breathe out with awareness & force, this allowed Indy to get visual perception of how powerful her breathe could be!
06.01.2022 MONDAYS MANTRA Just for today I will not worry! Leaning in & trusting the divine timing, that everything is unfolding the way it’s meant too. We can not control life, or the circumstances were presented with, but we can control how we re-act to the situation. There is no point worrying about what will happen or trying to control the outcome, it only causes stress.. worrying is predicting an outcome in the future. Why not manifest the outcome you desire instead? ... All you have to do is change the way you think! See more
06.01.2022 Extending on Finns interest of Space Finn has loved exploring space & all things that come with it - aliens, rocket ships, planets, the lot! SO we made planet earth play dough using blue lavender scented play dough & green leaves replicating the land. I have made a conscious effort to incorporate mindful activities into our daily routine to help Finn down regulate, especially come afternoon time! Play dough is a perfect activity to unwind, take time out, to become ...conscious of what he is doing & too explore his senses. I find it super beneficial when Finn can use his feeling sense, we speak about what it feels like in his hands or how he can use his hands to manipulate the play dough in all different ways. He can squish it, roll it, chop it, smash it, squeeze it, smell it, you name it.. he does it! Allowing Finn to become mindful of what he is doing gives him the opportunity to become present, to think about what he is doing & to see how he is feeling. We also have been using play dough as a emotional regulation tool to let out any frustration. This is a work in progress, instead of lashing out using our hands to hit we are using our hands to regulate. Emotional regulation is a skill that needs to be learnt, just like riding a bike & tying shoe laces.. it takes time, but it is essential to learn at a young age to then be able to carry these skills throughout our every day adult life. 04.01.2022 The hike up the mountain is always the hardest, we’ve currently been conquering Mount confidence and Mount growth. Each day we get a little closer to the top, no matter what the weather conditions are or what life has been throwing at us we are have been putting one foot in front of the other. Sometimes that has meant for us to pause, look around & find the path with least resistance. It has also given us the chance to take a look to see how far we have come already! Whatever mountain your climbing know that the viewpoint from the top is well worth it. One step at a time, one moment at a time, one breathe at a time & one day at a time. Focus & only do one thing at a time. Your time is precious!
01.01.2022 Sometimes my heart feels like a big yellow star, shiny and bright. I smile from ear to ear and twirl around so fast, I feel as if I could take off into the sky, This is when my heart is happy. ... Sometimes I hide my heart away where no one can see, like my own small treasure. I don’t want anyone to look at me. Safe on my swing, I can watch the world from up above. This is when my heart is shy. A vibrant celebration of feelings, in all their shapes and sizes! All feelings are equally as important What does your heart feel today? #love #feelings #heart #loveheart #happy #angry #sad #shy #brave #lonely #courageous #children #yoga #childrensyoga #storytime
01.01.2022 Take a risk to open your heart and trust that all will be well! It’s so easy to close our hearts off to the world to avoid pain, to avoid being seen, to avoid taking a risk or to take a chance to follow what your heart desires. This beautiful partner stretch allows us to open our hearts to world, a stretch that allows trust to be built between two people
01.01.2022 Mandalas express wholeness, they are designs of the universe flowing from the centre outward. Like a crystal or a raindrop they reflect the light of the cosmos. As we open, we too, reflect this light - Karla Boyd
