25.01.2022 I adored bringing this creation to life at the Australian Body Art Festival last Sunday! Biggest thanks to my stunning friend & model Olivia, who also came all the way from NSW to do this with me I was inspired to do this because I had a concept I really wanted to develop for the given theme of time travel: Shamanic Journeying Here it is:... Many forms of Shamanic Journey exist around the world. They are a doorway to the spirit world, and open the landscape of the subconscious mind into upper and lower worlds. There are sacred practices that induce a state in which consciousness is projected through time. It is this projection of awareness that is the essence of time travel. Examples of healers, spirit workers, priestesses, witch doctors are many, spanning across continents Native American, Asian, African. In Australia there is the Aboriginal Dreamtime that allows one to view events from everyday reality in the past or future. In Aboriginal culture, time is not considered to be linear, something that quantum physicists also agree on. In their view time is circular. Past, present, future are one. Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is known as the spirit molecule and is naturally produced by the pineal gland and released when we dream, and in large amounts at the time of birth and death. It also naturally occurs in many plant species and is used in many ceremonies around the world to achieve a state of transcendence of time and space, where we are able to realise our multidimensionality and the interconnectedness of all.

04.01.2022 I took part in a Temazcal Ceremony yesterday. It is held in an igloo shaped structure, it is very dark and very hot. A big element of this practice is prayer- for ourselves, our friends, family, enemies, all living beings and creation. 04.01.2022 A week ago I decided to leave my cocoon. I've been heading to the forest a lot lately and I enjoy many solo nature adventures, in many parts of the world. I keep saying forest is my element but I realised I hadn't really spent nights in the forest on my own. It was time to. After hours of driving I found a beautiful place surrounded by trees to stop for the night. Absolutely no cars I could hear, no humans in sight, only the sounds of the woods, frogs and my whirling thoughts.... I gathered wood, made a fire and marvelled at the brightness of the moon. I didn't need to use other lights once my eyes adjusted. I hadn't brought a tent so decided to set up my mattress on a tarp outside and sleep beneath the star dotted sky. Felt alive and scared. I noticed the fear was mostly the product of my own mind, and that I wasn't really concerned with the unidentified creaks and critters in the forest, but mostly the perceived danger of other humans. It's important to know that there are creatures out there that can kill you, but they are certainly not out to kill you. Not in this part of the world anyway. I generally feel really comfortable in the forest, love digging my fingers into the soil, getting muddy, exploring. One of the few places I can be my unedited self, where things make sense. And that night I was reminded, yet again, that if we tread gently we are welcomed into the privilege of witnessing its beauty. But it made me think about the way we view nature ... is it a green environment we sometimes go to, to walk in? Something threatening we don't understand and prefer to avoid? Something we need protection from? Have we forgotten that we ARE nature? When you are surrounded by this living, breathing, astonishing natural world you can't help but love, and breathe with it, and be in awe of this astounding creation. I hope in each of us there is still a recognition, a connection and a calling. Mine has just gotten stronger. 2000kms later, writing this surrounded by trees, birds and insects, having returned from a walk to Minyon Falls in NSW. Intending to spend a lot more time out in the bush. Freeing and healing. Highly recommended. ;)
