25.01.2022 What an inspiring set of dialectics! Dialectics mean... It is not either/or. It is not about being in the grey area. It is about being okay to be both and to hold two seemingly opposite ideas in mind at the same time. It is about replacing "but" with "and". When you do that, what differences do you notice? #DBT #dialecticalbehaviourtherapy

25.01.2022 Power of self-awareness. We develop insight and awareness in therapy. By doing that, we are empowering ourselves to manage what comes our way. Quote from an Ancient Chinese Philosopher Lao Tzu (or Laozi) - ""

25.01.2022 Mindfulness is one way of self-care. What are you doing to look after yourself on the last day of the staying-at-home-all-day long weekend?

24.01.2022 This is (partly) what therapy is about - owning our stories. Sending to all the brave and beautiful souls out there.

24.01.2022 #iso is not so easy.

21.01.2022 The power of words in therapy. What is your relationship with your thoughts? Some therapies aim at changing or challenging our thoughts; other therapies work on letting thoughts come and go, without engaging in them. What works for you? #acceptanceandcommitmenttherapy #act #cognitivebehavioraltherapy #cbt #whatworksforme

20.01.2022 New post is up We have compiled a list of resources to help you manage isolation and challenging times during Covid-19. https://www.innereasternpsychology.com.au//coping-with-cov

20.01.2022 With the Stage 4 lockdown, it is easy to get caught up with all the thoughts, worries, ruminations in our mind. Mindfulness is not about getting rid of these distractions. It is about learning to be grounded. It is about learning to let go, to connect with oneself, especially during challenging times, and to shift our attention to "see" what is important and meaningful for us. Stay safe everyone.

19.01.2022 We feel grateful and welcome the announcement of an additional 10 sessions funded by Medicare for Psychological Therapy in Victoria. These sessions are available until 31st March 2021. It is important to acknowledge that this pandemic has pervasive impact on our mental health. If you feel that you or your loved ones would like some support, please contact us to discuss your needs. Take care everyone.

19.01.2022 . Acceptance .

19.01.2022 A reminder that its OK to be not OK. Once we embrace vulnerability, it becomes less challenging to manage our pain and suffering

19.01.2022 Let yourself be good enough. Let go of the chatter in your mind

19.01.2022 It is important to look after your mental well-being during this very challenging time. #covid19 #wellbeing #psychology

18.01.2022 Have you ever been stuck in trying to change yourself, your thinking, your emotions but it doesn't work? The trick is that change occurs in the context of acceptance. Acceptance is change. I find these concepts in #DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) extremely handy in helping us regulate emotions and reducing emotional suffering.

17.01.2022 The paradox of pain and suffering

17.01.2022 Physical distancing and continue to stay connected. Reach out and check in with your friends

17.01.2022 Focusing on what is, rather than what it should be. Sending to everyone .

17.01.2022 A good old reminder. It's okay to experience all sorts of feelings and emotions. It's okay to feel exhausted, unmotivated, sad, lost, or anxious about what to come. It's okay to find it hard to cope with all the challenges. Be kind to yourself and to your emotions.

16.01.2022 During this unprecedented time, we are all experiencing grief. We are grieving e.g., the normality of the world, loss of certainty, loss of physical connection, loss of routine, our usual way to be, etc. We are experiencing the anticipatory anxiety of what our world will look like in a few months' time. It is a time, more than ever, to show kindness, to reach out, to connect with one another. I hope you take very good care of yourself.

16.01.2022 Id like to think that we are not just moving through different stages of grief. We are growing with grief. Our losses are often a part of us for a very, very long time, and it is okay to not be able to "get over it". We grow around, and with grief. We don't have to always learn something from grief. However, if we are in touch with grief, it helps us understand more about who we are, and what's important to us.

16.01.2022 What is in your toolbox? #expandyourtoolbelt #skills #emotionalregulation

15.01.2022 Acceptance is not approval. It is not saying that it's okay. It is not resigning. Acceptance is an active process . It is coming back to the present moment, to acknowledge what is rather than what it "should be". It is an awareness of facts and willingness to not struggle with what we cannot control. It is so very difficult to "do" acceptance. It is, nonetheless, the key to self-growth and management amongst testing times.

10.01.2022 Therapy often involves developing awareness into what causes us pain. This can be daunting and yet a process of revelation. Without understanding and be in touch with our pain, it is hard for healing to occur. Please do share with us how you heal from your pain.

10.01.2022 Acceptance and change - Allowing fear and walking away from it, towards your values, what you want, and what is important for you.

08.01.2022 Good old #carlrogers

07.01.2022 Responding does not equal to reacting. When we make room for our emotions, change occurs. Mindfulness is the foundation to it all.

06.01.2022 IDAHOBIT Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, Interphobia & Biphobia. It is a day for everyone to commit to creating a world free of judgement and discrimination. It is a day of celebration for our community. We see you. We hear you. We stand with you. We are you.

04.01.2022 This is (partly) what therapy is about - owning our stories. Sending to all the brave and beautiful souls out there.

03.01.2022 Just that. Observe, take a deep breath, accept and act mindfully During #iso times, it is easy to go onto autopilot. We may get caught up in our thoughts and worries. Observe what is happening, acknowledge what is, respond and not react. We will get through this. #inthistogether

03.01.2022 Lovely message from @drrebeccaray on courage. We are a big fan. It takes courage to start the journey of therapy. It takes trust. It can be overwhelming, and you may find what you need along the way.

02.01.2022 If we change our relationship to our thoughts and emotions... we are learning to manage them. These difficult moments may come and go, and we remain the observer - not getting caught up nor engaging with them. #mindfulness

01.01.2022 We stand with you, during times when you feel alone, exploring, feeling uncertain, seeking support, doubting yourself, seeking kindness... We stand with you We do.
