14.01.2022 How To Kickstart Your Momentum in 2021 Have you ever felt like you’ve hit a roadblock? Like you’ve plateaued or fallen off track? I want to show you how you can kickstart your momentum when this happens.... Think of going to the gym. You don’t immediately grab the heaviest weight as soon as you get inside, right? No! You know that you need to warm up properly if you want to perform at your very best without getting injured. I’ve made this mistake before. I went on a vacation and I didn't take into consideration that I was going to cool off. I expected to be able to lift heavy weights immediately after I came back. And I expected to go back right into my healthy routines I had in place before my vacation. But I learned the hard way that I really needed to warm up first. Such expectations will leave you frustrated and discouraged. The same goes for your whole health and wellbeing journey. You get stuck because you're comparing your very best to how you're doing now. You're trying to pick up the biggest weights without warming up. Momentum in your health/performace is like temperature. When you've cooled off, it means that you’ve lost momentum. And the first thing that you have to do is warm up and get moving. If you want to kickstart your momentum with your health, you need to have an approach to it. Here’s how: 1. Get your body moving. You get endorphins from exercise, and I think that’s why we love exercising in the first place. Go for a 30-minute run, do 30 minutes of yoga, or go to the gym. Get your blood flowing and it's going to spark your creative juices. 2. Have a plan of attack. Make a small and manageable plan. With an achievable goal, you’re not going to let yourself down. 3. Push yourself. When you’re stalled, you need to understand that you will not want to do these things. So you’ve got to push yourself to get your body moving and achieve your goals. And the good thing is, you’ll only need three to five days for it to work because action generates momentum. So, don’t wait until you feel momentum. Take actions to generate it. Talk to you soon!
