25.01.2022 As we step out of Winter and into the early Spring energy I am feeling a rise in my own energy and drive to garden and create! Today I tidied around the house (jobs that I have been putting off for ages) and planted some new seedlings and herbs in the garden. My herb garden is in bloom and the days are getting warmer. We have had friends over regularly the last few weeks and I am feeling social and excited for life. Winter has been so nourishing for me. I really took the time... to withdraw and rejuvinate. And even though it felt at times that I was stuck or stagnant and should be doing more I can see now that I was like the trees - during winter losing their leaves and putting all their energy into their roots. As now I can feel all of my fresh shoots emerging just like the trees around me. . I am feeling the excitment of new ideas, projection and new creations wanting to be birthed into the world. . - Practice for you - Allow yourself the space and time to pause and reflect. Ask - How am I feeling? What do I need right now? Do I feel rejuvenated as I emerge out of the winter part the yearly earth cycle? Do I feel the new energy of spring stirring within? What am I wanting to create right now in my life? Activity- Go for a walk in nature and notice the signs of spring around you. The flowers that are blooming. New shoots and new leaves on plants. Feel the warmth of the sun and visualise that warmth stirring and waking up your inner vitality and creativity.

23.01.2022 Coming home to your body - a gentle Yoga practice. This weeks class is a practice to support you "come home to your body". Dropping down from the mind and come into a deeper and more active awareness of your body and breath. Slow the breath, soothe the nervous system and gently massage and loosen the joints with this gentle Yoga practice. This practice comes from an ancient Yogic practice called the Pawanmuktanasana series. Meaning "Prana" "Release" "Pose". So our intention w...ith this practice is to bring awareness into our body with our breath and attention and through these gentle movements support our body unwind and release any stored tension in the muscles and energy body. These are simple and gentle Yogic movements that most people can do. I have added some instructions also for people with mobility challenges or a chronic condition that may benefit from this practice and instead of sitting on the floor can sit in a chair and adapt the practice. This practice is a non-competitive and gentle practice aimed to support you soften, soothe your nervous system, foster gentleness and kindness towards your body and bring you into a more intimate and honouring relationship with your body. This is a great series to practice everyday and is recommended as one of the starting places for those beginning with Yoga before progressing into more active asana practice. 22.01.2022 Master, how can I face isolation? -Clean your house. Thoroughly. In every corner. Even the ones you never felt like, the courage and the patience to play. ...Make your house bright and well cared for. It removes dust, cobwebs, impurities. Even the most hidden. Your house represents you: if you take care of it, you also take care of yourself. -Master but the time is long. After taking care of me through my house, how can I live the isolation? -Fix what can be fixed and remove what you no longer need. Dedicate yourself to the patchwork, embroider the starts of your pants, sew well the frayed edges of your dresses, restore a piece of furniture, repair everything worth repairing. The rest, throw it away. With gratitude. And with the awareness that its cycle has ended. Fixing and removing outside of yourself allows you to fix or remove what's inside of you. -Master and then what? What can I do all the time alone? -Sowing. Even a seed in a vase. Take care of a plant, water it every day, talk to it, give it a name, remove the dry leaves and weeds that can suffocate it and steal precious vital energy. It is a way of caring for your inner seeds, your desires, your intentions, your ideals. -Master and if the void comes to visit me? ... If fear of illness and death come? -Talk to them. Prepare the table for them too, reserve a place for each of your fears. Invite them to dinner with you. And ask them why they came from so far to your house. What message do they want to bring you. What do they want to communicate to you. -Master, I don't think I can do this ... -It is not isolation your problem, but the fear of facing your inner dragons Those that you always wanted to get away from you. Now you can't run away. Look them in the eyes, listen to them and you will discover that they put you against the wall. They've isolated you so they can talk to you. This Sunday falls on Mother's Day and I have decided to offer a practice that connects us to this special honouring of Mothers and Women. . This Sundays practice will comprise of an audio meditation journey and written and verbal instructions for the altar crafting component. ... . You will need 20-30 mins on Sunday or anytime you would like to do this activity. A comfortable seated or lying down space for the meditation. A space to create an honouring altar to acknowledge your mother, your female lineage, all women, the divine mother aspects or whatever you are drawn to and need. . You will need some coloured cloth, candles, incense, music, pictures or art of your mother and or female lineage or images that inspire the feeling of healthy mothering energy. . 19.01.2022 There are many forms of Yoga. Many different styles and techniques. In the Yoga scene there can be an energy of comparison or competition as people identify with the style of Yoga they practice and this can lead to division. As you may practice Ashtanga or Vinyasa and think that active Yoga is most powerful Yoga. Or you may practice Yin or restorative and think that gentle Yoga is the best way to foster a sacred practice. Or you may practice Hatha or Bhakti Yoga and think t...hat all other forms of Yoga are not as authentic. . This can happen and does happen. It can be part of the journey. In some respectsit shows how passionate and devoted we are to our practice. . Yet what I have learned from my 10 years of Yoga practice is that all are valuable. All are important. Each different style and lineage of Yoga sprung from a need. Bhakti Yoga emerged from a fierce love and devotion to the Divine. Hatha Yoga emerged from a desire to balance the energetic polarities of the body the Ida and Pingala and awaken to Samadhi. . We can use and befriend each different style of Yoga throughout our lives. Each can be helpful at different phases of life and used to support different life challenges that arise. . For example, my practice started as a 16 year old girl. I was fit, youthful and mobile from my history of Ballet and Gymnastics. I fell in lovewith Vinyasa Yoga and went on to do my first Yoga Teacher Training at the age of 18. . My love affair with Vinyasa lasted many years. Until something changed. I had a brief tango with Ashtanga and then found myself in the hands of Restorative and Yin Yoga. For 2 years I found myself in a personal crisis. The strong and active Yoga practice that had become such a part of who I was, was no longer helpful. I could not get on my Yoga mat and do my usual practice. Instead I found myself lying on the floor doing deep healing Yoga Nidra's, long held Rstorative and Yin poses and deep energetic and shamanic journeys. . I struggled for 2 years internally with the pressure that I should be doing an active practice. During this time I have learnt to slow down, surrender and truely go within. Now my practice includes all forms and changes to my needs. My practice changes depending on the time of day, season of the year, time of my menstrual cycle and phase of my life. . This is a holistic way to practice because it acknowledges that we a changing beings that need different things at different times. 17.01.2022 Our society "fears emotional responses and highly values the control of emotions because it is so out of touch with them. Female bodies, long associated with cycles and the subject to ebb and flow rhythms, are seen as especially emotional and in need of management. Our entire society functions in ways that keep us out of touch with what we know and feel". - Dr Christine Northrop . Our sacred work in this life is to walk ourselves back home to our bodies and our inner spirit...s. We are creatures of this earth and with that comes the messy, wild and emotional parts that make us who we are. Instead of censoring those parts and casting them out into the shadows, let us reclaim them and integrate them back into our being. Let us allow the parts of ourselves that we dont usally allow space, to show themselves. Whether that is rage, fear, grief, sadness or pleasure. . As we drop into our bodies, slow down and truely feel what is occurring within we can become fully alive. When we censor ourselves or are censored by a society which dictates the kinds of behaviours, emotions and responses that are appropriate, we disrupt the flow of our inner energy and this can result in holding or bottling up tension, energy and emotions and lead to illness. . I want to cultivate a way of living that allows all parts of who we are to be seen by the world. For all different ways of being to be welcomed. For women to be honoured once again for their wild cyclical nature. For menstruation to be honoured and valued as sacred and remembered for its important wisdom. For all people to live in a way that fosters deep inner connection and space to deeply know, feel and understand ones self. For us to be in touch with our full spectrum of emotions and sensations. To become fully alive. . Today I cried and screamed into a pillow. I felt all of this energy inside my body that was uncomfortable and heavy. I needed to let it out of my body but I have been conditioned to not express those types of emotions and to bottle it in. Yet I reached the point today where I allowed myself to scream and cry. To let it all out. . That energy was not able to be released in any other way. I needed to feel what was happening inside my body. I needed to move it through my body. Because when we feel it, we can then let it go. . Do you allow yourself to feel and express your wild self? Wild being your natural human self. See more

You dont have to keep pushing and forcing life. Force doesnt help you get where you want to be. Non-acceptance of what is causes suffering. . The lesson? ... RELAX . SURRENDER . BE CURIOUS . 15.01.2022 Winter Solstice In the Southern Hemisphere this is our time of endings. Of wrapping up our yearly cycle of seasons. The sun has journeyed through its rise in Spring, peak in Summer and descent in Autumn. We are now heading towards the depths of Winter. Winter is the dark point on the Wheel of the Year. The Dark Moon and Menstruation phase. Yet because our global society primary runs on Northern hemisphere calandar dates we are out of sync with our own natural rhythms a...nd cycles. This naturally is our time of withdrawing, letting go and resting. Yet our society doesn't really value or support our collective Winter or our need for a personal Winter. Instead it is expected that we continue to produce and act as if we lived in a perpetual Summer. The underlying philosophy of perpetual growth driving this notion. . Yet I am learning the deep value of allowing the Winter phase to have its space in my life. Winter calls for reflection, letting go of the old, pausing and resting. For me it has called for a time of deep healing and change. Of letting go of parts of my life that were not serving me, such as working full time. And allowing myself to go into a period of letting go of pressure to "do", "create" and "achieve". . I am calling in ceremony to acknowledge this Winter Solstice. As the end of one solar cycle and the start of a new solar cycle begins. This is our true New Years celebration for the Southern Hemisphere. I will have a fire, reflect on the year that has been and set intentions for the year to come. Let us reclaim our rituals and celebrations in our new homes. For me and many the land of Australia we now call home. I am remembering and re-engaging the with the traditions from the lands my ancestors came from; Austria, Ireland and Scotland. These nations before Christian rule held deeply spiritual beliefs and practices linked with the earth and natural cycles. Although the times have changed and the land in which I live has changed I beleive that many of the answers to our modern challenges can be found in reclaiming our ancestral traditions, living in alignment with the rhythmn of the earth and re-establishing our relationship with the earth. . 12.01.2022 I have wrapped up my final classes for 2020. Yoga, movement and women's wisdom practices. . Over the last month I ran a Movement Practice series that supported women to drop into their bodies, connect to their breath, settle and ground their nervous system and move their bodies in delicious, curious and sensual ways. We invited playfulness and space to listen to what our bodies needed. We practiced non-linear movement. We practiced choosing to choose our bodies. . We made spa...ce in our weeks to dedicate to ourselves. To our wellness and happiness. And hopefully we grounded some new pathways in our minds and lives to choose heath, to choose connection with our bodies and inner spirit, to choose to listen. . That was my aim. To create a space for women to remember how to connect, listen and respond to their own needs. Through breath, relaxation, movement and awareness. .
