24.01.2022 A reminder to give back to nature: This cute little guy gave a croak of thanks when a friend watered her thirsty plants during the weekend heatwave. #gratitude

24.01.2022 I've posted about this disturbing fact before: tea bags from many leading brands have plastic in them! This is a shock to many people but here's the video showing you how its done. Buy organic fair trade tea with unbleached paper bags. Or better still loose leaf tea and a tea infuser. We need to quietly wake up to how the food industry is polluting our planet and our bodies. Fresh leaf tea tastes better and reduces waste. Simple!

23.01.2022 Forest bathing is the new drug. At a time when Australia is hell bent on clearing forest and wiping out our endangered animals at a rapid rate...the rest of the... world is recognising the power of nature to heal us. Its incredible its taken us this long to acknowledge how healing time in nature actually is. Kids living in urban environments with all manner of psychological distress - depression anxiety you name it. This is not normal. Its the result of a society out of balance. Our physical systems personally and globally are overloaded...and we are distanced from the natural world that sustains us emotionally physically and spiritually. Yet the simple act of tending a garden, walking in the trees, camping with friends and family or nurturing a pot plant on your desk can offer a new way out. One where we recognise our place in nature - not against it. Proscribe some nature therapy for you and your family this weekend. DOCTOR'S ORDERS :-) See more

22.01.2022 For all my friends, and family and beyond who may be struggling right now. If you're needing some equanimity in the face of life's changing fortunes and sometimes wild weather...this mountain meditation is worthy of a few minutes of your time. Preferably atop one of Canberra's many peaks but under a tree or a starry night sky wrapped in a blanket will do.

22.01.2022 Its only January and so many people are already sounding like its all stations go! To slow the pace you need to schedule rest as well as work. Otherwise you'll ...find all your time gobbled up with responsibility. (That used to be me but no more!) Here's a little reminder to help you stay in tip top shape in 2018. Put some "recharge' time in the diary - a walk, a swim or maybe this three massage deal from me. See more

20.01.2022 Here's the good (and not so good) stuff about drinking coffee - and a neat fix for those with hormone issues who'd still like to enjoy a cup!

20.01.2022 Time for the annual detox (Phew! Just squeezed it in before the excesses of the holidays commence!) I'm doing a gentle cleanse based on veggies, herbs, fermented foods, and healthy fats (no sugar, dairy, pulses or grains)...I'll go for a week or two as long as it takes to feel the lift in energy. Why not join me...As well as giving the colon a clean up it may be helpful in all sorts of other ways as the growing links between a healthy gut and a contented mind attest....

18.01.2022 We need mindfulness in every school: calming and focusing their brains, and helping kids awaken to the wonder of the world, and to learn how to respond wisely to pleasant and unpleasant emotions and thoughts.

17.01.2022 I like this idea to greet and respond to one another about the fullness of our hearts, not our diaries.. http://www.sarahwilson.com//how-is-the-state-of-your-hea/

17.01.2022 If your doctor is not happy about you following a diet with more vegetables then find a new doctor ....we should all be eating more vegetables. Vegetables rock. So says medical doctor and MS sufferer who is alleviating her symptoms through diet

15.01.2022 Our minds influence our bodies. You better believe it!

15.01.2022 As I get older, silence is something I seek, more and more.. perhaps unknowingly healing my brain from the stresses of a noisy world

14.01.2022 Aloha The real purpose of massage ...to give and receive more love.

13.01.2022 Time to put in a patch of beautiful dandelions - for all the health giving properties and the colour they will add to your garden or window box ...

12.01.2022 I have been doing some casting back to see how I’ve been traveling in recent times and got a surprise how so many little things - learning to take a break when I need one, allowing myself to ask for help, and trusting my instinct when it comes to my own wellbeing- have had an impact. Along the way these small 'yeses' to myself, add up to quite a shift. I feel calm, centred and clear. Not to say that everything is coming up roses, but that regardless of challenges there is a f...eeling of being deeply connected to my purpose (inner peace) and centre (sharing this with others). This gentle grounding is profound - and has been very helpful when it comes to saying yes to the right things and no to the distractions! If you cast back along your own journey in recent times how many small steps towards your higher purpose and away from habitual safety have you made? How often without even noticing, did you say yes to you and no to fear and reactivity? At first it may not even seem like muchperhaps you touched some people with your enthusiasm, or you feel more comfortable being exactly where you are right now (wherever that is). Either way there are gifts to be acknowledged. And you may find that they all add up to something much bigger! I invite you to take a moment to have a look and see. These are, after all, the changes that matter, not the grand projects or gestures but the quiet daily work of being a self aware and loving human being.

11.01.2022 Something to look forward to...yoga and wellness in the trees.

11.01.2022 Sound baths are deeply relaxing and stress relieving- and now modern medicine has caught up with evidence they’re healing. Experience for yourself - request Tibetan bowls for the close of your next kahuna massage with me. #InnerNatureCoachingandKahuna

11.01.2022 Matcha green tea...the mother of all green teas. More antioxidant than blueberries, loaded with trace minerals like selenium and zinc , the chlorophyll is a great detoxifier and it has five times more LTheanine (a great brain relaxer!) and 137 times more EGCG than regular green tea - a polyphenol and powerful antioxidant being researched for its positive potential in treating human health and disease including cancer. For people like me , who don’t particularly like green te...a ( at least not the tea bag kind) one cup is the equivalent of drinking 10 regular cups of green tea - so a great pick me up with all the benefits and tastes better too... The trick as with all green teas is to not boil the water - only bring it up to about 80 - and to not let it sit to long so it goes bitter. Matcha can be whisked up with a beautiful bamboo whisk and sipped from a bowl traditional style- or even served with soy or almond milk with a touch of honey like a latte! 04.01.2022 Like a lot of things in life it seems so obvious... spend time in nature and you’ll be healthier happier and calmer. But as so often is the case there’s a huge ...and sometimes insurmountable divide between ‘knowing’ something and ‘doing’. It. That’s what fascinates me about coaching: every person who walks through my door is a fully whole, functioning and profound human being who knows exactly what they need to do to turn their life around. So why the dissatisfaction disappointment and stuck ness ? The answers are usually found in cultivating a gentle wise and loving awareness and by walking the fine line between sweat and surrender, effort and intention #thechangehatmakesthedifference See more

04.01.2022 I have found that Dr Keto, Dr Vegan, Dr Paleo, Dr Vegetarian and Dr Mediterranean all agree: lots of veggies, no added sugar, no refined grains, whole foods. The bottom line for health and weight loss? Start there at that foundational diet. And then go ahead and be your own citizen scientist ! Play around with satiety (is it avocado salmon and seeds or lentils and steel cut oats that leave you feeling full?) Try some of those different food types or food groups and see which ones you can cut out that don't leave you feeling miserable and hungry. And make sure you include enough of the stuff that you enjoy that you can keep doing it on and on and on. Christopher Gardner - Professor of Medicine at Stanford University's Prevention Research Centre in California. As reported on RN’s The Health Report

01.01.2022 The healing benefits of nature and stillness are well documented, but now we can add to this quest for health and wellbeing, the nourishment of our brains. The simple yet ancient experience of silence could be just the healing balm we need to quell our crazy modern lifestyle.
