25.01.2022 The smoke haze is effecting us all. Migraines, headaches, sinus pain, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and general exhaustion and sickness. I had acupuncture last night to deal with the headaches and inflammation in my sinuses - instant relief! Now it is about keeping up Vitamin C (great overall vitamin) B vitamins for stress and NAC (for liver, immune system and mucous buster) from my Naturopath. Know your symptoms and issues and get onto your team to get help NOW. Have a plan and strategy and implement it people. This is NOT a drill. Stay safe. Stay healthy. If you feel inclined and want to listen to me chat about it (you need your head read) here is the link... and yes I know she got my surname wrong on the very first page and introduction... https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/record/9055452828021730055

20.01.2022 A quick reminder from someone who forgot (moi) that the humble pineapple is a godsend on sore throats and coughs! So eat up kiddies! #wefo #wefolk #whc3012 #pineapples #coldandfluseason

18.01.2022 So this year I cancelled Christmas. Yup. We had 3 weeks away planned with family and friends and 1000km road trip. But 3 weeks before I was so burnt-out, strung-out, stressed and overwhelmed that I turned to the hubby and just cried "I can't do this!" I was talking about packing the car - it left me feeling crushed with panic, and he just simplified it all and said, yes, let's cancel. Suddenly I could breathe. I even thought, ok maybe I'm not so bad and I can do this trip, bu...t no - we still cancelled the complex plans and arrangements and we stayed at home and did nothing. We were busy with NOTHING. And it was the break we all needed. I know - in my bones - I KNOW - that had I continued my M*f#kin autoimmune disease would have raised it's head and ravaged me. So I took the hard arsed advice of my mates (thanks Ruairi O'Duil) and I shut it all down. And I am still standing. Sometimes I have to get the hell outta my own way!!! I know I am a superwoman, I know I can kick this disease to the curb and leave it far behind me, but sometimes I need reminding that it is still in the background looking for the right circumstances, environment and lifestyle choices to come right back in and be front and centre. This is life with an incurable condition - you don't ever stop being a warrior - but you can get really big rest breaks between battles and my plan, my goal, is that I never have to fight a war like I did from 2007 - 2010. I will NOT be taken down by this MF thing again and sometimes the only way to guarantee that is to CANCEL. So here is to 2020 - may it be strong, resilient, and include dancing, laughing, loving, joy and GREAT HEALTH to achieve all the fun stuff. See more

14.01.2022 Hahahhahaa. Absolutely after the last week!

14.01.2022 Working from home today and in true Jennifer style have cleaned the house, vacuumed, put on washing, made tea, hung out washing, tidied kids rooms, opened all the windows and showered, dressed, perfumed and lipsticks to get to this point. Hey... whatever works! These are my coping mechanisms and I'm sticking to them. #workingfromhome #wefo #wefolk #whc3012 #mondays #greatweather #cleantoconcentrate

13.01.2022 I am working on "Model for Life" Workshops and Retreats for 2020. I believe these will be unique in that they are for those who want to dive into understanding their individual health and wellbeing. Learn how to be aware of what they are going through and feeling and how to address that themselves. This is about embracing all medical models and taking the best from each one for your own situation. So really, this will be about YOU. For you, by you, and guided by experts. We w...ill work on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Nutrition (of course), Biophilia (our environment), pain management & self advocacy (how to talk to Drs and your team). The workshops will be divided into Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced courses. And the Retreats will be held in Victoria at sensational sights and locations that you can drive to. Think Glamping plus Empowerment. Well... that is how I see it now. It is going to be heaps of work, but I am really bloody excited. Bring it on! Jen See more

11.01.2022 THIS THIS THIS THIS!

09.01.2022 The last 3 weeks have been very full on in terms of load - from every direction. Anyone else found this? So I found something to distract myself from my thoughts... get off the hamster wheel as it were. Korean dramas and movies! Stay with me. Watching something in another language (I love international film and tv) means I am concentrating to much on the show and dialogue to think about work, home, issues, concerns and I cannot get distracted by my phone or thoughts as then I loose the plot (literally) completely! So if you are looking for a way off the hamster wheel of your own brain (monkey chatter) try watching something completely different, in another language. Give it a go and see what you think. I like to think of it as "Active Mediation" rather like knitting for me. #tips

08.01.2022 And so say ALLLLLLL OF US! hint hint

08.01.2022 I've seen 3 previous clients, all Mums, in the last month, all for their 3rd baby. It has been so lovely to treat teeny tiny feet and Mums again. Seeing them both together and treating them, empowering the mums to treat their babies and helping Mums feel better, stronger and listened to, has been a joy. I rarely treat clients these days but I still love reflexology. #wefo #wefolk #whc3012 #reflexology

07.01.2022 Had an incredible meeting yesterday with the Tonj Womens Group as we start to flesh out the project plans for their Women & Children's Hospital in South Sudan. Amazing to watch incredible women fight to save the lives of women and children. #womenpower #tonjwomensgroup #savinglives

07.01.2022 As a mum and a reflexologist - hell YES! A new study reveals children who are habitually barefoot show significantly different motor skills between the ages of 6-10 than those who are habitually shod. Researchers report those who are habitually barefoot have better balance and jumping skills.

07.01.2022 Yep. Very true. Like people telling me they don't have time or money to get treatments. Yet being sick is much more time consuming and expensive. Proactive is the only approach that makes sense.

05.01.2022 I've had a sh!t of a month with mastitis, head cold, sinus infection, cystitis, the sad deaths of 2 loved cousins, massive work load (including Telstra cutting off the clinic for 3 days) and still being a Mum to 2 children, and breastfeeding. I've spent more time off in bed in this past month than I have in 3 years I think. Just shows me that HEALTH IS EVERYTHING. I literally cannot get anything bloody done unless I am WELL. So stuff this bullcrap line of "I can't afford an a...ppointment" what I can't afford is NOT BEING ABLE TO FUNCTION. And so I can NOT function without the following: Naturopathy (herbal tonics kept me up and Mumming), Sleep (best restorative EVA), Acupuncture (I can breathe!) Osteo (ribs back in place), GPs (infections need antibiotics) and a great understanding of what works and the commitment to DO IT. So for your own sake - have a honest conversation with yourself about what you can and can't afford and kick your own arse if you know you are having the bitch of a time but you are not doing the investmentto change that. Take it from one who knows!!!!! See more

05.01.2022 When we opened the Western Health Collective in Jan 2017 it was to offer a real point of difference in the health industry. We aim to change the way you think and go about your health care - especially if you are dealing with a complex chronic situation. We hope you enjoy this short spiel about the Collective: to really let people know why we are who we are. With love, the WHC Team.... #wefo #wefolk #whc3012 #westernhealthcollective #whywearewhoweare #healthnews #introducingus #casemanagement #pointofdifference See more

05.01.2022 I love this 10 minute sequence! I am spending a HUGE amount of time at my desk working and this is GOLD. Vanessa is brilliant and I love her technique as a Physio. You can still get treatments you know - Physio is an ESSENTIAL SERVICE so don't suffer in pain at home alone - for goodness sake - it'll make your life much harder in already trying times. Take care - stay safe and stay sane! Jx
