24.01.2022 While the official season starts next week - the Turbines have opened the season in style! Josh smashed out a fast half marathon pb in Warrnambool this mornin...g breaking 1.20! In Ballarat, Emily M stormed home to a new 1500m pb, both athletes coming on quickly under coach Phillip Molesworth. Robbie in his first outing for ASW ran a pb in the 1500m, Caytlyn also in her first outing for ASW ran an impressive close to pb 100m and then a new triple jump pb that would break the Australian record if it had been ratified (it will no doubt get broken next time!), Aaron ran a slick 100m pb but unfortunately went on to hurt his knee in triple jump, Ella launched the shot put out well beyond 8m for a pb, and Stevie competed for the first time achieving a pb in both the triple jump and the 1500m!! Wow so many pbs - 100% hit rate! At home there was an ASW coaching session for some of our newest recruits Trinity and Jose who are looking forward to applying their explosive power next week, as well Susanna, Will, Ruby, Hilary, Jesse, Emily D, and Grace. At this stage we will have 16 competing next week in Geelong and Ballarat! Go TURBINES!!!

It may be of general interest but it might also be a really valuable podcast to follow for anyone interested in PE including teachers!

02.01.2022 Great experience running the semi final of the gift at Stawell for Grace Carter. Ran well all weekend and had a blast. Good luck to another Warrnambool Grace (Kelly) from DPS who ran impressively to make the final.
