14.01.2022 Beets or commonly known as beetroots, are a great detoxifying vegetable, great for those trying to lose weight as low in calories. They can be eaten raw by grating or pickled but watch sugar in pre made canned varieties, bake with balsamic vinegar, steam or boil. Eat are variety of colour as this makes it more pleasing to the eye and gives loads of vitamins and minerals. 100 gram serving providing 43 calories, beetroot is an excellent source of folate and a good source of manganese.
