24.01.2022 This Saturday's session will still be running At times like these looking after your physical AND mental health is so important, that's why I've added time for a little meditation at the end I am choosing to keep my numbers lower than what is currently allowed so spaces are filling fast.... 21.01.2022 The last 18-24 months have been some of the toughest I've faced. I've experienced health challenges that forced me to re-evaluate my whole life, serious mental health issues, breakdown of relationships, the loss of a business and more. It's been hard. So hard.... It's tested me on every level of my being AND I've learnt so much about myself. The challenges forced me to re-evaluate my life, what matters, what doesn't, what and who in my life is most important to me and what genuinely sets my soul on fire. I stopped taking day to day things for granted, invested in myslef and started looking for the small positives in my own life. I finally started trusting my intuition, realising my strengths and looking forward to the future. Is my life anything like I thought it would be at almost 30...not even close! But I'm happy, completley content with where I am and who I am and I know I'm on a path to great things; even though I don't know what they are right now (and that's ok). Sometimes life can be really shitty and we don't know how we are going to pull through but, we can learn, grow and see just how strong and capable we really are. So if you're struggling right now, if life is feeling extra shitty, stay tough, talk to the people you love, get help and support, you'll get through it and remember it's all preparing you for something extra fantastic. 16.01.2022 How do you plan to stay active this week?
15.01.2022 Practicing mindful awareness and eating until 80% full. I used to binge...often, always ate until completley stuffed (still happens occasionally because I'm human ) but, it always left me feeling sick, bloated and self loathing. Whilst it appeared I ate "healthy" I had a terrible relationship with food.... I now practice eating slowly, chewing plenty and stopping when I'm content not full. It always takes me my whole lunch break to eat, sometimes more. But, I've practiced slowing down and taking time to really enjoy my food not just scoff it down before my stomach realises I'm full. This is the leftovers from today, the beauty of this is I have a snack for later if I feel hungry and I'll get to enjoy it all over again. If I don't feel like it today I'll add to it and have it tomorrow for lunch(No waste and no pressure). I feel content and am not so full I can't think or move. It takes practice but has really been something that has changed my realationship with food. I love food, I hope you do too. A gentle reminder that we can have it whenever we like and don't have to binge to get everything in in one meal Time to reflect...how is your relationship with food??? Lauren xx
14.01.2022 Do you journal? I was gifted this beautiful notebook and pen when I finished up at my old job. I knew it needed to be used in a thoughtful and meaningful way because it was such a lovely gift. It became my journal.... Journaling is a great way to calm and quiet the mind, remove the thoughts from our head and bring some sense to our world. Research shows that writing about stressful life experiences boosts our emotional health and also improves immune function both in healthy people and in those with chronic illness. (It feels good and does you good!) I practice gratefullness every day in my journaling but on Sundays I write 5 things I'm grateful for from the week passed and 5 things I want to achieve for the week ahead. A beautiful way to use my gift to finish my week and start the week ahead, I always listen to some music, have a cup of tea and a piece of dark choccy. It has become a lovely routine that I look forward to daily and one that has helped me work though some tough times. Small changes like this can be totally life changing, self care is a must and for me journaling is an important self care tool. I can't encourage you enough to give it a go. Start by writing 3 things you're grateful for daily. Happy Sunday Lauren x
13.01.2022 Motivation. I often have clients say "I've just lost my motivation" Truth.... None of us are motivated all the time, motivation might get you started but habits are what keeps us going and how we get results. Make a decision about what you want to achieve, tell people to help you stay accountable, enlist a coach to help you (me), make a plan and the most challenging part..do it. Some days it will be hard, some days you'll feel like giving up but once you've changed your life and created healthy habits you'll be so proud of yourself and "motivation" won't matter anymore. 12.01.2022 As we say goodbye to 2020, an incredibly tumultuous year for so many of us I encourage you to reflect and find the small positives. The realisation for many of us that slowing down and being present and grateful for the current monent is oh so wonderful. The beauty of human connection and the deep love and care we have for those around us. For me 2020 was a year of deep personal growth, I'm so happily not the person I was at the end of 2019. Hopefully you can say the same. ... With a new year upon us it's time to set some goals for the year ahead, dig deep with this. Reflect and find what you really need, my goal is to put even more focus into my overall wellness (I hope yours is too). To do this I'll be: - Eating more grass fed, organic foods - Sleeping 8.5 - 9hrs a night - Meditating daily - Moving daily - Prioritising strength training - Spending more time outdoors Thanks for allowing me to take up space in your lives this year, either through online coaching, insta live workouts, park sessions or just the occasional chat. I've loved every minute. I hope to continue to see you all in 2021. So much love, Lauren x
