15.01.2022 Today’s Move of the Day #MOTD is brought to you by Suzanne King - Clinical Psychologist at Innervate Pain Management. She specialises in chronic pain and trauma.... A little known fact about her is that she’s a punk rock fanatic! She calls this one breathe and release - Breathe in and raise hands, push forward as you breathe out, breathe in as you lift the hands and then breathe out again as you come down. Focus on expanding the breath, opening up and allowing the body to feel safe. Feel the freedom of the body despite pain and despite fear and worry.

06.01.2022 Global Year for the Prevention of Pain Chronic pain is typically defined as pain that continues to be present for greater than 3 months, or lasts longer that ...the expected normal duration of recovery. One of the most common types of chronic pain is musculoskeletal pain (e.g., chronic low back pain, neck pain, arthritis pain). Genesis Research is proud to study and trial new treatments to help those impacted by chronic pain. We are hoping these treatments will be able to help many more people out in the future! Some other ways to help people dealing with chronic pain are: - Seek medical advice from a pain specialist / pain clinic - Ask about medical treatments that include nerve blocks into joints or tissues - Continue regular mild to moderate exercise - Receive psychological support, ideally from a specialty trained pain psychologist - Try complementary non-drug therapies for additional benefit: meditation, yoga, acupuncture, biofeedback, massage therapy, water/swim therapy For more information about the Year of Pain Prevention, follow this link: https://www.iasp-pain.org/GlobalYear #GlobalYear2020 #IASPGlobalYear
