21.01.2022 It is with much disappointment that my good friend Troy Duckworth has now left Townsville Carrying Company. When Troy first told me his Beautiful 4 foot, 4 stone lady had been accepted as a 200,000 TONNE Coal Train Driver, I didnt know what I was going to do. Troy has been the driving force behind TCC and is the main reason that TCC has a extremely high level of reliability and a service record that is envied by most Transport Companies. It is Troys professional, never say... die attitude and the respect that he commands from his men that has attributed greatly to Townsville Carrying Companys success and what made it the Company it is today. He will be sadly missed and ICC and TCC Management and Staff wish him all the best at his new profession of being a House Bitch. I would like to welcome Malcolm Gray to Townsville Carrying Company. Mal has extensive knowledge of the transport industry being the Branch Manager in Townsville and the Fleet Controller for Rentco in Brisbane. I have complete confidence that he will continue on with the great tradition that Troy has set and as much as Troy will be missed, life goes on and the foundations that he has created will make Mals transition so much easier. 18.01.2022 Email Security and prevention of these email viruses. Recently there have been numerous email viruses going around. If you receive any file via email (even from a trusted source) that is in a format other than a PDF then do not open it. Never open a Zip file that is attached to e-mail from an unknown source. If an unexpected Zip file is attached to e-mail from someone you know, consider verifying with the sender that the attachment is legitimate. Some viruses spread by e-mai...ling copies of themselves to everyone in the contact lists of infected computers; this means that you can receive infected files even from people you know. Avoid downloading Zip files from untrusted web sites. Of course, these guidelines dont apply only to Zip files; they apply equally to any file type. See more

06.01.2022 Happy Friday 13th Everyone. :) As you all know we are in for a wet weekend. Please everyone drive to the conditions and remember it takes much longer for a Truck to stop. Driving near heavy vehicles Heavy vehicles are heavy and long. They take longer to stop and accelerate than smaller vehicles and require more room when turning. If you are driving behind a heavy vehicle, keep a 2-second distance between you and the heavy vehicledouble this distance in bad driving condition...s. Tips when driving near heavy vehicles include: * do not cut in front of heavy vehicles because you reduce the drivers breaking distance * do not speed up when a heavy vehicle overtakes you. * if you are behind a heavy vehicle and you cannot see its side mirrors then assume that the heavy, vehicle driver cannot see you * do not tailgate a heavy vehicle. You cannot see what is ahead of it and you wont be able to react in time * never overtake a turning vehicle that has a DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE sign displayedit is dangerous and you can get a fine.
05.01.2022 In the Far North we do not do things in half measures. Check out the size of this Generator being put on the back of one of our Trucks.
04.01.2022 **Tuesday Safe Driving Tips** Overtaking a road train Road trains are large truck and trailer combinations more than 19m long. You should only overtake when it is safe and road markings indicate you can. Before you overtake:... * allow enough time to overtake * stay back at the recommended following distance (2 second distance) without crossing the centre line when preparing to overtake * look out for soft shoulders, guide posts and wildlife as you overtake * when its safe to overtake, indicate, accelerate and overtake quickly without exceeding the speed limit. Changing down a gear may give you enough engine power to get past * maintain your speed so the road train does not have to brake after you overtake * Do not overtake a turning vehicle at an intersection, unless it is safe to do so.
