18.01.2022 This Saturday we have a home game! Playing against Southside. 2:30pm is first kick off followed by our A grade team at 4pm. Hope to see all our followers at our home game. First day of July!

17.01.2022 We are having the monthly meeting tomorrow night at the Goondi Bend clubhouse. The meeting is to start at 7.30pm, that way training won't be affected and players can attend after if they wish. The meeting is open to all interested in rugby and we hope to see your there.

16.01.2022 Bereavement notice: Happy new year! Good morning Vikings new and old, there will be NO training this week as one of our player/member Taura Joseph has had a sad passing this week. 14.01.2022 There will be a meeting at the Goondi Bend Clubhouse tomorrow night at 6.30pm. Items to discuss are finalising the year, making a plan for next year and setting a date for the AGM. Please all attend and get involved.

14.01.2022 The Vikings have been given the honour to be Yolande Moeveo first A grade game to referee. We were her first senior grade game last year also and thank FNQ rugby for the chance again. We wish her well and sure she'll do great. Good luck Yolande. Our new playing kit is finally arrived and the Vikings will be wearing it tomorrow. It looks great and the boys are very keen to show it off. ... 13.01.2022 Good afternoon Vikings, as some of the players are aware that we will not be attending training tonight as many of our familys have reached the near'ng end of school term (one more week to go). So students of many schools in Innisfail are having concerts tonight. In advance we do apologize for the inconvience and will have training next week Tuesday and Thursday for clarification. If at any stage, there is change of time, venue or day, this post status shall be more vigilant... and comply with words on the street :) So watch this space! 13.01.2022 It's with a heavy heart that I have to post the following. Our combined team with Wanderers unfortunately hasn't worked as hoped. Player numbers aren't what they were promised to be. ... It is been discussed by the committee and decided that the safest course of action is to withdraw from the rest of the season. Player safety has to come first. An unregistered / non financial player is not covered by insurance. We as a club should know better than any other what can happen on the rugby field. If you combine that with no insurance, the result could be catastrophic to the persons future. To the fantastic, generous sponsors that have come forward this year, please be assured that the Vikings will be back next year and will use the clothing designs for the following season. There will be no training on Tuesday as we need to discuss how the Vikings are to finish the season. 09.01.2022 Afternoon boys, Let me start by saying, we are proud of the turn out we have had with our xmas pre-season training. We will NOW be starting our PRE-SEASON TRAINING NEXT WEEK !! Tuesday's & Thursday's at the clubhouse, 6pm - 8pm. Need to start getting numbers now boys!! ... PLAYERS are now able to pay their 2018 season FEES, the amount is $200.00 which includes your Polo supporters shirt, training singlet, playing shorts & socks. Jasmin and myself will be at the ready to help anybody in need of assistance to register online & pay their fees. Would be good if the we had everyone's fees paid for and out of the way by the beginning of the season Run hard or Go home

08.01.2022 A Reminder that the AGM is to be held tonight at the Goondi Bend Clubhouse at 6.30pm. The normal procedure is the current committee stands down and a new committee is then elected. All keys for the clubhouse are to be returned at this time and will be re-issued after elections. Anyone who has an interest in the Vikings and rugby is welcomed to attend.

07.01.2022 On behalf of the Innisfail Vikings Rugby Union Club, we would like to thank all teams, supporters and our own very team members and volunteers for a fantastic day. Although we came out with a loss, we still came home with a new mate from each club itself. So a big congratulations to Penrhyn Sharks on their win and JCU. We are nearly there! Week 10: This week is back to the drawing board as we face the most toughest team of FNQ rugby itself, away game against Barrons ( Machans - 4PM kick off ). Until then... We have our 1st home game for the new season at Goondi Bend Oval against Southside Saturday 05/05/18... Game kicks off 3pm gates opens at 1pm Entry fee $5-00 & kids free. 03.01.2022 Afternoon everyone As the community already know, we held our AGM in the beginning of the month. The meeting seen our board members from 2016 and 2017 step down, and a new board formed. The new committee board members are as follows; President - Keevin Burgess... Vice-President - Justin Walker Secretary - Jayla Dalton Treasurer - Jasmin Ford Head-Fundraiser - Debby Hobbs Head-Coach - To Be Announced Congratulations to our new committee members. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved, played, volunteered and supported the Innisfail Vikings over the past 2 years. We would also like to wish those parting their own way, good luck on the future. We as a club, as a family, have had many up's and down's and it only pushes us to strive for better. Keep an eye out for new pre-season updates and events coming up.

03.01.2022 Our meeting that was to be held tonight was very poorly attended. Including myself a total of 3 people turned up. For a club with a long history in a single rugby team town, this is disappointing to say the least. The only thing that could be discussed was the date for the AGM. This date is now set at Tuesday, 10th October 2017. At 6.30pm. ... At this meeting I will resign as President of the Vikings and a new committee will have to be elected. If you want a new direction, a new start or have some ideas, this is the time to bring them to the table. But to the faceless ones who talk in the dark, not brave enough to come out, this has to stop or this great club may never return to what it once was. I still hold onto the hope that Innisfail will get behind this club, the people in it and support "The Game They Play In Heaven"

02.01.2022 The Mudcrabs have forfeited tomorrow's reserve grade game. First time that anyone can remember the Mudcrabs forfeiting a game. We wish them well for the rest of the season and hope that numbers improve. For all of us. The A grade game is to be played as planned. Kick off at 4.00pm at Goondi Bend Sportsgrounds. ... For the rest of the season a descision has been made to not charge players for the gate. Spectators will still be charged at this stage. Rugby is about the game and we want to promote playing and watching The Game they Play in Heaven. Let's bring your best game and then your best after game party. Good luck to everyone. Play hard.
