25.01.2022 BE AWARE OF HEAT STRESS As things are beginning to heat up in the region it is vital that workers - especially our tradies on the jobsites are aware of the dangers of Heat Stress! Recognise the signs of heat stress: heavy sweating, headaches, muscle cramps, weakness, fatigue, dizziness, intense thirst, nausea, heat rash, irritability and heat stroke to name a few!... If you notice yourself or someone is suffering from heat stress you can: remove the worker from the direct sunlight/hot environment, provide fluids ASAP (preferably water), loosen clothing, apply cold packs, fan air onto the worker and if signs or symptoms do not improve or worsen seek professional medial attention. Always remember to wear sun protective clothing, take adequate rest breaks and keep shaded where possible and ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!
