25.01.2022 Junior Development training is on this weekend. The sessions will be run out in Yorkeys Knob, making use of the beach, the hill and the Northern Beaches Dojo. ...Training is also on on the following dates: Saturday February 15th Saturday April 18th Saturday May 9th Sessions will run from 8:00am and finish at 12:00pm. $15 per head. 24.01.2022 Team QLD at AIS day 3, Futures Camp, another jam packed day learning as much as we can from Sensei Sandro Piccirillo, followed by an amazing Ne Waza session tod...ay from Ivica Pavlinic (NSW) and Emilien Freund (Vic). In the afternoon We had a tour of the AIS the Judoka were shown around the facilities at the AIS by current athletes and, were given a lot of knowledge and inspiration. 10.01.2022 State training on Saturday the 8th of February will be at Innisfail Judo Club. Training begins at 10am (be there 9:50). Finishes at 1pm. We have special guests - Shota Inoue and Meg Hamashima attending. Meg will be his Assistant.... Shota is a 5th Dan Judoka. He is a Science Teacher and Judo Coach at Wakayama Prefecture industry High School. He is also assistant coach at Setsunan University and has been involved in many Nage no Kata seminars with his coach Takayuki Yokoyama, multiple world champion in Nage no Kata. Shota has medalled at the QIO in U100 a couple of times and still enjoys competition Judo. Whilst his knowledge will be great for every Judoka in QLD, I strongly encourage heavyweights to come along. I will be talking to the State Head Coaches about how we can best utilitise his skills on the day. Your coaches have asked that you bring a pad and pen and water.

07.01.2022 Although training has ceased for now, we ended Judo on a high with our Annual Open Competition & Training Camp being held last weekend. We welcomed judoka, Coaches, parents & supporters from Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, Northern Beaches, Mossman & of course Innisfail. Saturday was a full day of training with special guest Coaches Yuki, Megumi & Kazuma, followed by a big Teams challenge then dinner & a movie to end the huge day before camping on the mats. On Sunday the Innisfai...l Annual Open Tournament welcomed 54 competitors & 80 nominations. There was an impressive showcase of Judo and some very well contended bouts. A massive thank you to our incredible team of volunteers! You all go above & beyond to ensure this annual event is the best it can be, our wonderful canteen ladies who ran for 2 days straight to ensure everyone was well fedas well as all the Coaches, Referees, table officials & 1st aid Officer. High quality training, high quality competition, great food, great atmosphere & great fun! Always great to have a chat and a laugh with everyone & to see lots of new friendships made!
