16.01.2022 I don't think it's any secret that our education system across Australia was poorly prepared to shift learning delivery modes in our current world. I hope that this situation galvanises our education decision-makers into embedded innovation into the system. We are beginning to teach our children to be agile thinkers - but it seems our schools are not walking the talk. Through our State education departments our schooling system needs to become more agile and innovative in h...ow it delivers its curriculum. A greater focus on online delivery and how this delivery "looks" is critical. Surely technology, when applied in the right way, allows for mass customisation of learning - tailored to meet student needs and focused on mastery assessment rather than a one-size fits all approach. As a parent trying to home school while working I can say it's been an uphill battle - trying to work across six different platforms for each child with different instructions for each. And when all video links are only able to be accessed by using Flash Player (which I understand is in the process of being culled by Adobe) ... not being able to access critical materials or have other options makes this a non-functional environment. Let's see if our education system learns ....
