15.01.2022 Experiencing Poor wash performance from your dishwasher?? It may be time to clean your filter. The filter is located at the bottom of your dishwasher, below the lower rack. Simply remove the filter to clean. We also recommend removing and cleaning the spray arms as gunk can also clog up the jets. Doing this regularly will increase water circulation throughout the dishwasher resulting in better wash quality.

05.01.2022 IS REPLACING YOUR FRIDGE WATER FILTER WORTH IT ? Seventy percent of your body is made up of water. If the water you’re drinking is not good quality, then your body is going to suffer. Grabbing a plastic water bottle on the go is convenient, but filling a reusable bottle with filtered refrigerator water is friendly to the environment. Using two refrigerator filters a year could conserve around 3,000 bottles saving you a lot of money, and help to reduce plastic pollution.... ARE FRIDGE WATER FILTERS EFFECTIVE? Refrigerator filters are effective at what they're designed to do. They are excellent at chlorine taste, odour, and sediment reduction. They will not soften water, remove iron, or prevent health hazards in untreated water. HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHANGE MY FILTER ?? Refrigerator filters provide clean water, reduce contaminants, and prevent bacteria from getting in your water. However, the carbon has limited capacity. The longer you wait to change your filter, the worse your water gets Refrigerator filters should be replaced every 6 months. Never leave a filter in place longer than a year. The longer you use a carbon filter beyond its maximum capacity, the more harmful your water could become WHAT HAPPENS IF I DONT CHANGE THE WATER FILTER? *Your filter clogs. It reaches a point where it will no longer filter because it’s packed with dirt and debris. You know it’s past time to change your filter when water stops flowing out. *Your filter grows bacteria. A loaded carbon filter collects particles that living organisms feed off of and becomes a campground for bacteria. *Carbon reaches maximum capacity. Water continues to flow through the filter even if the surface area is full, but the water carries contaminants along with it. Imagine going to a mall at Christmas. After driving up and down rows of cars and finding no place to park, you get back on the road and head somewhere else. Similarly, when all the spaces in an old carbon filter are taken, particles accumulate or pass through the filter. CAN OLD FRIDGE WATER MAKE YOU SICK ? Refrigerator filters are intended to work on already micro-biologically safe water. City water has already been chemically treated for viruses and pathogens. But if you continue to use a filter past a year, your tap water could be enhanced with all of the contaminants previously blocked. An old filter becomes prime living quarters for living organisms that could enter your digestive tract or gastrointestinal tract and cause flu-like symptoms. 02.01.2022 Mould - is something we can find in the most unexpected areas of our homes. Being exposed to a mouldy environment can cause a variety of health problems including throat and skin irritations, nasal stiffness and respiratory problems like coughing. Unfortunately mould can be an ongoing issue for people that own Front Loader Washing Machines So Here's how To Clean Your Washing Machine Of Mould:... Front Loader Washing Machine seals (gaskets) are a breeding ground for mould spores, you will really need to use bleach to have any success in removing it. Make sure that you have some gloves on and keep the doors (and windows if possible) open for ventilation. Start by wiping down the whole rubber gasket with a white rag soaked in a 50/50 mixture of bleach and warm water. Make sure you pull back the rubber gasket to clean inside of the seal (gasket) as this is where most of the mould will be. If after wiping mould is still remaining, soak a towel with your bleach mixture, push it into the gasket, and let it sit for 30 minutes. After soaking, remove the towel and scrub the gasket gently with an old toothbrush Wipe down the rubber gaskets with a clean dry cloth until no residue remains. Once you are done, place all of the rags that have come in contact with the bleach into your washing machine and run them through a complete wash and rinse cycle on the hottest setting. Next, run the machine through a second complete cycle (at the hottest setting) adding 2 cups of vinegar *PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD NEVER MIX BLEACH AND VINEGAR TOGETHER!! Remove the detergent dispenser and clean with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. Make sure to wipe down the inside of the washing machine as well where the detergent dispenser goes Lastly, clean the inside of the door with a rag and a 50/50 water and vinegar mixture. Pay extra attention to the bottom aspect of the door where the water would pool. Now that your washing machine is clean, Try these tips every time you run a load Check the rubber gaskets for any small clothing items ( eg kids socks) and quickly wipe the gaskets down with a dry cloth to get rid of any excess water. Leave the door open. Leave your washing machine door slightly ajar allows air to circulate and help to prevent the growth of mould and mildew. Remove wet clothes promptly. Try to do this as much as possible. If you cannot get to your laundry right away, try to at least pop the door open when the load has finished. If your Gaskets (Seals) need to be replaced please don't hesitate to call us on 0435 822 272
